I have had a good experience having items hemmed here, but this summer I asked Griselda if she could copy a simple summer dress. She said that she could, so I brought her fabric and a very simple unlined sheath dress to copy. A month later I called to see if the dress was ready to pick up. They did not call me. When I picked up the dress I was in a hurry so didn't look too carefully at the neckline. That night at dinner my friend noticed that the neckline of my new dress was asymmetrical. My husband agreed that yes, the right side was different than the left. When I looked in the mirror I realized they were right. One side of the vneck was curved, and the other side was almost completely straight. So I brought the dress back in and was assured that they could fix it. Today when I went to pick up the dress, they had a hard time finding it, and then I saw it folded on some cloth on the floor. The neckline is still not great, but I am giving up on having it done correctly at this place. In the future, I will go elsewhere to have an item of clothing copied. I went in to get a pair of my military pants hemmed. I went in with my 6 month old baby and I had to try the pants on. The lady offered to watch him so I didn't have to hassle with the stroller taking him in. While I was in there putting my pants on I can hear them talking to him and playing and him laughing it warmed my heart that he was having fun while I was taking care of business. I've had alterations done here off and on over the last several years. The job was always done well enough at a reasonable price. The three star review here reflects the balance between previous unremarkable experiences and my most recent remark-worthy experience. Two weeks ago I dropped off two cotton dresses for some simple alterations. The sleeves on one were shortened to cap sleeves. The other was to be taken in on top (straight line stitch) with liner added to the somewhat see-through skirt. The total for this was $65 which struck me as steep relative to previous alterations. But I paid and left the dresses. When I arrived to pick up it took about 10 minutes for them to find my dresses. Hard to find because they were on the floor, rolled into a ball in the bag I dropped them off in. The first dress turned out fine though wrinkled. The second dress, however, had what I can only describe as athletic jersey fabric added to the full inside of the dress. It was so bizarre. When I asked why cotton dress liner wasn't used I was told I'd have to bring in my own. Not only was that not discussed when I dropped off, the randomness of the mesh substitute left me stupefied. Once home, I further realized the alteration on top wasn't finished. All the cut edges were left exposed and the waistline wasn't stitched back together. I've taken the dress back and, though the woman tried to tell me it was fine, they are hopefully going to finish the stitching and remove the basketball jersey from the dress. I'm writing this now because fixing the dress doesn't change fact that it was done so poorly to begin with. I am just grateful these were not expensive dresses. As another reviewer said, I want to support local and Easy Alterations has been SO convenient. Usually I wouldn't let one bad experience among many decent ones become a review, but I feel like I got ripped off for easy alterations ... no pun intended ... that I'm having to advocate to have finished correctly. read more

I had purchased five summer skirts and wanted them modified, so I brought them here. It was my first time using Easy Alterations, I usually took my alterations to a dry-cleaner location. Though I wasn't in any rush they were done within seven days. On the day of pick-up, she told me to try them on, so I did. Two of the skirts had minor poke out issues at the hips. I won't get into detail because to much to explain but I will say this, her and her staff have horrible customer service... HORRIBLE! No customer service skills what so ever, the crazy thing is that I communicate in Spanish with them so I am not sure what the problem is but I will no longer be doing service with her again... A friend of a friend recommended this place so I wanted to try it out. To begin with, the ladies in the shop aren't welcoming because they don't greet people walking through the door. I dropped off one of my dress on Dec 26th and was promised the dress would be ready on Jan 6th. I wanted to give her plenty of time to work on my dress and not rush it. I had a second dress that was delivered two days later and decided to get it done at this same place so it can both be ready to be picked up on Jan 6th. The lady who took my measurements assured me it would be ready on Jan 6th. I paid the total balance plus a big tip so it would be done one time and quality work would be put into my dresses. I showed up on the day as promised at lunch and only one of my dress was done. The other one (the one I dropped off first and really needed for an upcoming event was not even touched). The lady asked if I can wait half an hour and I told her it was my lunch time and I don't have time to wait but told her that I can come back after work. After work, I went back to the shop to pick up my dress, the hemming was done but the tapered on the side of the dress was not done. The needles were pinned on the dress. I was so disappointed. They didn't apologize for anything, all if them remained quiet. The lady did fixed my side of my dress real quick but I didn't even care to check it at this point. Once it was fixed, I just grabbed my dress and walked out of the shop without saying a word. They take your money plus the tip but didn't deliver as promised. I want to support small businesses around the area I live in but the customer service and business is not the best. I won't be going back to this place again and would not recommend it to anyone I know either. read more

Paid close to $100 for a bridesmaid dress alteration to be completed in a week. I tried the dress on when I dropped it off and asked the lady to alter it so the dress fit better and didn't look as big. I trusted her and took all of her suggestions in hopes the dress would fit better. When I picked up the dress and tried it on, it looked the same as when I dropped it off or perhaps even worse. I was in disbelief, so I looked inside the dress to confirm that they actually did work. I could tell that the stitching in both of the sleeves were not the same, but sloppily different widths. The ladies tried telling me the dress looked pretty on me and couldn't do anything more (perhaps a tactic so I don't feel bad about the dress). My sisters were there during drop off and pick up and agree that the end results are very disappointing. Paying that much money for the end result to look the same or worse is not worth it! I went in to remove elastic from the sleeves of the dress I was wearing to my little backyard wedding and mentioned that I wished it was more a-line so I had more room for snacks. Before Easy Alterations, I went to nearby location on Freeport and the lady quoted me $50 to hem the dress length by 2inches. I told her that was not going to work and left. Several other places nearby were closed due to the Holiday or only taking appointments because of Covid. I called Easy Alterations and the lady who answered was super helpful and said they were open.
