I brought in pants to hem. She marked them with Clark. Looks good I said. Day I picked up she rushed me since she had doctor appointment. I got home try them on . Way to short. The day I brought in paints she complained about everything. From me going there to her count was right and mine was wrong to taking to long to change, fat paints, me being heavy, everything I tell ya. She wanted 10 per trim. I said guy on yelp was charged 7. She said long ago. When I picked up paints she let other paints go uncharged, nice. But she has a hard time with English. Go elsewhere. read more

Li was amazing, she was the only one who would help alter my leather jacket. None of the other shops even tried or they gave me an outrageous quote.. Her spot is a little house near Broadway, you walk in through a white gate and ring the door bell. She is super sweet and you can't beat the price and turn around time. To get the sleeves AND length shortened on my jacket was only $55 (for reference other shops quoted me $200+). Her work is incredible. It makes me sad to see some of the other reviews making remarks that she is working out of her home and that the clothes smell like food. Alterations were done but she left the pins in. Yes, pins had to be placed as a reference but she needs a better system because I shouldn't have to risk getting jabbed because of her indifference. Place is her home so the smell of the food which is strong will absorb in to your clothes. And cash only. read more

I had a black tie wedding to go to and when I bought my dress, I had only a few days to get it altered. I was hopeful that Leo's alterations could alter my gown with only 3 days notice and she did!! At first, it's kind of awkward because your walking into someone's living room, she works out of her home I'm assuming. But then, she is super nice, helpful, and very welcoming. I did call during business hours before I arrived. She takes cash only I believe. If you want a quick job done, the price was affordable, and good work, definitely try this place out. I think I it's cash only. It unusual because it seems to be her personal residence and she may have people over or she might be hanging out watching TV when I walk up. The front living room has been converted into her workshop but you are pretty much walking into someone's home! My first time trying her was for fixing an error made at another local alteration shop: i had the waist brought in on a pair of slacks at another location nearby. That location messed up the back seam of the pant, the middle was puckering very strangely (made my back side look like a saggy sack of potatoes). I brought the pants here to be fixed, she was very polite about it but explained, as best she could, that other place messed up when they brought in the waist because they didn't bring in the material from the center line in the butt too. So it messed up the whole line of the pant and made it sag in the worst possible location. I have since come to her for many items and trust her craftsmanship. I've never made an appointment and have always just walked up without an issue. My mother was a seamstress/dressmaker/costumer so I really have a special appreciation for Li's attention to detail. I noticed other reviews have said she doesn't speak English but I have been able to communicate with her just fine in English, I don't know what her native language is. Prices seem great especially in comparison to the place down the street that charges more yet seems to do sloppy work. I wish I took some before and after photos - especially from the story above! It was pretty hilariously awful. Glad she was able to save my slacks. I have a suite I need tailored, I'll try and load those before and after photos. read more

I was in a complete emergency situation WEDDING STARTED IN 55 mins, the zipper on my dress broke!!! I'm the maid of honor!! The dress fit perfect but was 11 years old. I was in complete panic mode! I called Li and she said to hurry and bring it in! The zipper was not fixable but with the help of Li and the bridesmaid that rushed it there, they created a corset-like back! I have been going to Li for years. Her work is impeccable - from simple hemming to serious alterations. She altered a costume for my daughter, a formal dress for a wedding, and she also does fine tailoring. My sister, my mom, and I have been going to Li for years. Mostly for hemming pants and jeans. Her prices are very reasonable and she does a great job. She used to do alterations for Nordstrom's alterations department. She speaks mostly Chinese, but can communicate well enough in English. (My sister and I don't speak Chinese, but we do fine talking with her when we go on our own.) Recently we had Li do the alterations on the bridesmaid dress and wedding dress for my wedding. Both were chiffon dresses from David's Bridal with draping, gathering, and slightly asymmetrical/layered hem lines. Li did a beautiful job. She charged me only $40 for the wedding dress hemming, which involved shortening the dress by about 2-3 inches with 3 layers of draped chiffon and a long slip underneath. She competed my order in less than 2 weeks. She did my sister's bridesmaid dress hem for $30. I've called her to make appointments before, but other times just walked in and she was fine with that. read more

Bizzarre experience. Li got really agitated and upset because she thought my suit jacket was old. Which is a really weird reason to get upset, but regardless the suit is only three years old and that has no relevance to her altering it. She kept saying it was old and I should get a new suit, and I tried explaining to her that I bought the suit brand new three years ago and that the suit's age was besides the point anyway. She just kept talking about how she thought it was old and I tried telling her what alterations I wanted done and she basically refused my business because she thought the jacket was old. Really bizzarre encounter and bizzarre way of running a business. Her prices were not any better than Friendship Tailor so unless you absolutely have to get something done last minute and are willing to deal with her weird personality and aggressiveness, go elsewhere. read more

I had such a great experience with Li's. I bought some new pants online and all of them were way too long for me, so I brought her four pairs to hem. When getting measured, I was in and out of there in 10 minutes, she had my pants ready for me the very next day and they look great. Her prices are amazing and she does great work!
