Upon walking in, the hostess wasn't there for a while but when she did come back she was accommodating as we ended up with one more person than our reservation was for and she brought over an extra chair. The decor, menu and overall vibe gives the impression of very expensive. I also was told that it was very expensive however, there were 5 of us and 4 of us had alcoholic beverages, 4 ordered an appetizer, we all enjoyed our meals (2 had the halibut special, one had the sabil fish, one had the pork chop and I had the Tortellini) and 2 had dessert. Our bill was just under $500. I would go back.

Love with the new breakfast at Salt! They've brought their signature chill vibe and 'best-in-town' customer service to the morning hours (6 AM-10 AM). The French Toast is amazingly fluffy with a unique crunch, and the omelets are just as delicious. Free coffee with your meal is the perfect touch! It's easily the most unique breakfast menu downtown. If you're coming early, parking is easy right nearby before the meters start at 8 AM. Would recommend for breakfast or dinner!

I thought Salt was great. Confused by the bad reviews. Had a great 60th birthday dinner for my dad. All the dishes were creative and tasted very good. Server was well informed and had A+ recommendations. Atmosphere was luxurious. Scallops, halibut, appetizers, dessert all top notch. Would come back anytime I was in Juneau.

Had a fabulous meal last night at Salt. They were busy so we took a table in the bar and Erica took great care of us all evening. The food was fabulous! I had the spotted prawns and my hubby had the King Salmon special. Both were delicious! We also had cocktails which were delicious, mine was a unique pear concoction. Capped off the meal with pistachio cheesecake with blueberry compote. Again - delicious! Loved the atmosphere and all staff was friendly. Not a cheap meal, but if you have the funds, it's definitely worth it! It was a special treat after eating lots of bar type food on our trip. Highly recommend Salt for a wonderful upscale meal in Juneau!

Great food! Great service! Best Vegetarian food I've had in a restaurant EVER!!! Go to this restaurant!

The only picture I snapped was of this gorgeous dirty martini! The bartender is wonderful

Sat at the bar alone and had really wonderful service! Drinks are amazing and the food is the best I found in Juneau. The French onion soup is a must have! This is probably the nicest place in Juneau too, a little more upscale but very cozy. A little pricey, but so is anything in AK- and it's worth it! Waitstaff is super friendly (just like everyone I met in Juneau!)

March 2023. Honestly I give this place 3 stars because it was so MEDIOCRE for how expensive it is. The crab bisque came with a red lobster biscuit right in the middle of it that you could buy and make yourself from Costco. (No authenticity). The calamari was so boring. Nothing wonderful and came with cocktail sauce that I could buy from Walmart. 0/10 on that. The crab bisque was extremely filling and a large portion, it was good but not spectacular. The filet was the best thing I had all night. However still mediocre. Basic baked potato. Best thing on the plate was the butternut squash. For a $60 dollar dish I expected more. Ps. I will note that I believe because it's the off season that they have the B team working the kitchen. I feel like during peak tourist season they bring in the A team Chefs and the food is probably better. This place was highly recommended by friends and I was expecting much more for the price I paid. Service on the other hand was great. Not one thing bad to say about the servers or bartender. Ambiance was nice as well. Quiet, romantic, and easy access. Just wish the food was better.

Never had a bad experience at salt. I celebrated my 21st birthday here. I celebrated my one year anniversary here with my partner. I celebrated my 22nd birthday here. And I've been there a time or two just for fun. Every waitress I've ever ever had has been a super amazing. They've always given the best advice on what to get, been super honest about their menu. And always recommend great drink pairings with the food. The restaurant in general is just gorgeous, the ambience is so inviting and just stunning. Here are a list of my favorite things to eat at salt. Apps -- gnocchi -- steak tartar Soups and salads -- French onion soup -- Caesar salad Mains -- filet mignon -- lamb -- salt burger -- king salmon Desserts -- caramel apple brown butter cake -- and I don't know the name of it, but it's some type of like moose with cherries and alcohol infused berries that's delicious If you plan on coming to Juno or you want a special date night, I 100% recommend going to salt! You will not be disappointed with anything that you get.

I just had dinner recently here and it was fabulous. Though their menu has gotten smaller, what they do serve is very good. I notice this in several restaurants since the COVID pandemic. I had the oysters rockefeller and lamb tenderloin. They were delicious. I plan to go back again in the future.

My boyfriend ordered the loco moco and said it wasn't good at all. What completely sealed the deal for me, though, was reading the owner's responses to negative reviews. Instead of addressing concerns professionally or taking accountability, the owner's replies come across as rude, defensive, and borderline hostile. Customers are talked down to, blamed, or dismissed for their experiences. As someone who reads reviews before returning to a restaurant, seeing an owner respond this way is extremely off-putting and makes it clear that customer feedback is not valued here. Between the poor food quality, disorganized service, and the owner's unprofessional behavior online, we will not be coming back.

The restaurant was crowded and loud, which I understand can happen in a popular tourist spot, but the staff seemed completely overwhelmed and uninterested in helping customers. What bothered me most was the service from our waitress, Summer. In my experience, she came across as disrespectful and dismissive the entire time we were there. Simple questions about the menu felt like an inconvenience to her, and the attitude we received made the whole meal uncomfortable. We were rushed while ordering, had long waits for drinks and food, and when we tried to politely ask about the delay, the response felt rude instead of helpful. The food itself was average at best and definitely not worth the prices. Some items arrived lukewarm, and parts of our order were incorrect. By the time everything was fixed, the rest of the table had already finished eating. The atmosphere may appeal to tourists looking for the "old saloon" vibe, but customer service should still matter no matter how busy a place is. Overall, this was one of the least enjoyable dining experiences I've had in Alaska. Between the poor service, long waits, and disrespectful attitude we experienced from Summer, I wouldn't choose to come back or recommend it to others. I hope management takes customer concerns more seriously in the future because the location and concept have a lot of potential.

I was lucky enough to have Alaskan king crab legs last year when I traveled Alaska by land so that was not on my must eat this year. King salmon that I fell in love with last year was though, so when I saw Twisted Fish had it and some of their fishes were accompanied by local rhubarb and blueberry chutney, I was sold as I am all about eating local. Unfortunately, grilling the king salmon dried it out so it did not have that beautiful buttery texture that makes King salmon special. Sadly I felt the king salmon I roasted at home was closer to what I had in Anchorage last year than this one. Even though the twisted fish plate only had Taku Salmon, I found the halibut in that one was much better and wish I went with a full order of halibut instead, especially since that came with the local rhubarb and blueberry chutney.

The staff was very friendly and this is located in the same spot as the beloved Deckhand Dave's but there is no seating. My order came fairly fast which was great! I was handed a paper bag with the foot long inside of it. When I sat down to eat I immediately noticed the sandwich was cut in half then laid down on two separate pieces of paper and wrapped with the cut in the middle... this is a potential for disaster if you are not aware. I suggest they just wrap it in one large paper and send it. As for the food here is a few notes... Dill spear soggy and mild pickle taste with skin slightly crunchy. The bread is hoagie style, texture is slightly rubbery due to the moisture. I suggest lightly toasting the bread. The meat is cooked well done but is thinly sliced so it is tender but absent of any seasoning whatsoever. The caramelized onions needed a touch longer for that brown color and caramelized taste. These onions were mostly translucent. The cheese is thin so it melted well with the meat. The sandwich is on the lite side for grease which is great. Personally I think the sandwich needs a touch of salt like any beef because it brings out the flavors. It would also benefit from bell peppers as well as roasted red peppers. Would I recommend this establishment? I would say it is worth a try but I hope my review might assist you in making your own educated decision.
