Amazing selection and over five different types of IPA's. Once you walk in from the hill you will notice this cozy brewery with in my opinion a hidden downstairs. The staff is amazing with guiding you and having you sample your find your new favorite. I was a big fan of the double IPA. It's hard to go work with any of there options epically there hazy options. They also have some good options. I have only tried the pretzel and it was a great addition to their beer. Overall it's a must stop place for local Alaskan beer. read more

Conveniently located in downtown, so it's very easy to walk to should you manage to find a parking place We tried a few different kinds of beer (dock jump hazy pale, signature IPA, the blonde, lager, and hazy IPA) and none were very flavorful, but maybe they're toned down to cater to a wider variety of clientele? The space is nice and it's great that they have small bites--I could see this being a fantastic event space for sure. We were only 1 of 3 tables there, but the layout is such that even if it was packed, it wouldn't feel overcrowded. They've done a great job! read more

We popped into Devil's Club during our recent Alaska cruise, and wow has the place changed! When I visited previously (many years ago), they were in a small, dungeon like room downstairs at (IIRC) the same location. Now, they're in a light, bright, cheerful spot at street level, offering a wide variety of delish beers and even food. On this year's visit, I ended up getting one of their house-made root beers and it was sooooo good. Not sure why I wasn't craving an actual beer (could be the ship's AYCD bev package might have left me feeling queasy), but the root beer was wonderful. The dude got a pint of their IPA and said he really enjoyed it. We also grabbed a snack of their sausage with homemade mustard. It was kinda pricey (although everything is in Alaska) but definitely delicious. Devil's Club Brewing in Juneau is the kind of place where you walk in, look around, and immediately think yes this is where I want to hide from the rain with a pint or a fancy tea and pretend I live here now. I did not drink beer because I had already taken down quite a few prior to stepping in this awesome joint. The bartender recommended, their Chai tea. Refreshing, spicy smooth and clearly made by someone who has strong opinions about cardamom. I felt cozy. I felt sophisticated. I felt like I should be reading a leather-bound novel near a fireplace. My wife got a flight of beers, and I stole a few sips for research purposes. The Cabin Candle tasted like a beer that owns flannel. Sword Stonefruit was fruity in a mysterious way like it might start a band and only play sunset concerts. But the Pink Elephant was the star. Light, flavorful fun and made us both briefly consider buying a shirt just to show our appreciation. Speaking of shirts they have cool merch. Hats. Shirts. Growlers for beer on the go in case you want to hike a mountain and celebrate at the top with something cold and earned. The whole place has that woodsy relaxed Alaskan charm that makes you want to start saying things like I forage now even if you don't. It was lively on a Saturday afternoon but not in a chaotic way. Service was fast and friendly. Plenty of seating and the kind of lighting that makes everyone look like they are in an indie movie about finding themselves through craft beverages. The views of the mountains out front will inspire you to change your name to Grizzly Adams. We did not get to try the food which was a tragedy I will correct next time. But even without the eats Devil's Club Brewing was a solid win. Five stars. Come for the beer stay for the chai and leave with a growler and possibly a new personality. read more

The latter was good the former was Fantastic. Very hoppy, very fresh very technically sound. Beer Snob here, impressed. I sampled a couple more while having a solid chat with the beer tender. Chose a hazy ipa which they pulled off well. There was a coffee stout which is like batting 4 for 4 so I'm super pumped. Nice taproom. a bunch a wood tables. Nice menu board. Clean restrooms. Merch. We got the popcorn figuring the kids would eat it but it was a little too fancy for them. Very good but very adult popcorn. We loved this little bar in Juneau! We stopped here on our cruise because the guys wanted to get some Alaskan-brewed beers. They said it had a good selection, and my husband decided to get the young spruce tips beer - he ended up not being a fan (but others say it's really good). Awesome brewery - we walked up past a lot of the kitschy stores and up the hill a little bit to stop here from the cruise ship docks. I highly recommend making the trek if you're able to. Pours were a decent price and there was a wide variety of beer available. Food was actually decent too. It was pretty lively and a good mix of locals and tourists. Service was also fast, friendly and great and I just liked the vibe - space was relatively bright even though indoors, well maintained and had lots of seating. There was an additional area that was temporarily an exhibition space for a local artist who had some incredible work on display. My fave beer was the Douglas Chocolate Cake Porter - there's a lot of porters in the world that advertise their intense chocolately flavour but the one at Devil's Club Brewing did not disappoint. My only regret was not grabbing a 4 pack to take home. Will have to find my way back and do that next time! read more

Fun spot. Good vibes a bit different of a layout with the split levels but definitely worth stopping by. The beer selection was solid and they had some really unique options. It's an order and the bar and seat yourself service... they ask for self bussing which most do, but there is always some fuds that are rude but the staff did a good job picking up after those people. read more

We were walking around Juneau, avoiding jewelry stores, when we decided to stop for a brew. My wife is a member of the Satanic Temple and I love great beer so Devil's Club Brewing was the obvious choice. I was not disappointed. The main level was thriving and had a real community feel, full of happy people sharing the long tables and walls full of artwork. There is also a quieter lower level for a more reflective drinking experience. The beers we tried were fabulous, save one. You can't go wrong with the Rainforest Saison or the Belgian strong ale. I also tried the spruce tip sour, it seeming very Alaska-y. As I drank it, I was reminded of reading Pale Fire by Nabakov. Namely, the concepts of both book and beer are intriguing but, in the end, were less interesting than I had hoped. Maybe I lack the required sophisticated palate, who knows. I'm glad I experienced both. The barman was super friendly, happy to chat it up and give beer recommendations. I highly recommend this place. Be forewarned there is no Baphomet statuary within (my wife was disappointed), just a great spot with great beer. read more

I can say the visit was a pleasure. The staff was friendly as well as on point. The prices are okay but the quality is good. The lite wood on the walls from recycled pallets gives a nice feel as well as bringing the room. The Cubano is on point and well made but the slaw just isn't my cup of tea. The slaw is not too wet or dry and the ingredients were fresh. The salmon plate is where things drifted a bit. The salmon spread is nice and lite in flavor with ritz crackers to pair. The salmon in the can is good but why the mountain of pickles? The salmon already has a salty end and by pairing this with pickles it will wreck your palate. I would suggest rethinking the pairing and giving something that brings the taste buds back to neutral with a variety of more than a salty ending. Two words... palate cleanse. read more

One of the assistant cruise directors (@AlastairAboard) recommended this place during a game of Trivia, so we thought we'd check it out. We walked past the jam-packed Red Dog another block or two and found this amazing local brewery.... they've got the best grilled cheese sandwich you'll have in your life ($12), and lots of beverages to choose from (both alcoholic and non). We got a Thai Iced Tea and a Rootbeer to try, as well as a flight of 3 of their local brews to go with our lunch. Super relaxed atmosphere, no busy crowds to deal with, and amazing food and drink. What a great place! We had Gabe and Jack as our bartenders, they were very knowledgeable and helped us pick the right beers to try try out. We even bought merchandise because we love breweries. The beer and the atmosphere were quite pleasant. The bathrooms were kept clean and the restaurant was very clean as well. Which is very unusual since breweries are pretty messy. These guys were completely badass and should be promoted. Here is a couple of things for visitors like me. Please order yourself some Tin Tackers so your customers can a piece of you home with them. Your shirt selection needs more attention due to missing sizes. Highly suggest this place. If you attend this part of Alaska then I suggest you attend this place one hundred percent.
