The restaurant/Saloon was like a step out of the Alaska Gold Rush. Sawdust on the floor, live piano player/singer. Wyatt Earp's gun showcased above the bar. The gift shop was attached to the Saloon. They had a good selection of Red Dog attire and souvenirs. This is agreat place for tourists.

Visited Alaska via cruise and wanted to check out a local spot towards the end of our stay. Food was great and ambiance was so fun! That had live music and everyone was singing along! Our waitress was wonderful as well! Would def come back!

A group of us stopped into Red Dog Saloon during our cruise lay-over. Credit cards are accepted. A full bar and kitchen are available. Red Dog Saloon is small and packed so we had to wait to enter towards the later hours due to our party size of 7. We didn't eat during our stay but we did have a couple drinks. It was fun to look at all the business cards, patches, hats etc. covering every inch of the walls and ceiling. Floors of sawdust assist with the old-time gold rush days feel. Unfortunately, we only had about 45 minutes to experience Red Dog Saloon before heading back to our ship. Staff was friendly and energetic.

Had to stop here on our cruise. We got the famous duck fart shots! Not too bad actually! And I don't like shots! Then appetizers for the table. Pretty good. Nice vibe. Good service.

Twenty five years later we finally made it back to the Red Dog! Sawdust still on the floor, great Alaskan paraphernalia on the walls and ceiling. DJ playing music and singing songs that were pretty much adult only and absolutely hilarious! Ordered the shrimp basket with chips and they were lightly breaded and fresh, not frozen. My with had the fish basket which consisted of lightly breaded cod and both were excellent. Our server was Monica who really took great care of us! We had to try the shots of Duck Farts which the Red Dog Saloon is famous for and they hit the spot! My IPA was stellar and my wife's Chardonnay was very good. If you're looking for an iconic bar to visit when in Juneau Alaska, this is the one to enjoy!

The Red Dog Saloon is recommended by local tour guides, the line out the door, and the quirky interior. Good food at a reasonable price in downtown Juneau; we liked the salmon spread, shrimp basket, and reindeer sausages sandwich (unique flavor). Plenty to look at while you wait and fun live entertainment!

Great iconic gold rush era bar in downtown Juneau Alaska. Saw dust on the floor, cute servers in period costumes, live music from an 88 year old gentleman. Strong drinks, good food, fair price.

Tessany was amazing! She handled all of the tables on her own!! She made us all feel welcomed and not rushed. Nachos were to die for. Best nachos I've had. Ambiance was saloon style. Make sure to look around. You won't know what you'll find haha.

We were in Juneau for a few short hours and then we are headed to Japan. We walked here from the cruise ship based on a friends recommendation. When you arrive, they will direct you to a table from the front door (upstairs or downstairs). The floor is covered with about 3" of sawdust fyi (fun but you're not wearing high heels in here lol) We went upstairs and had the perfect vantage point of the entire bar. Our server, Jessica was quick to take our drink orders. The season is winding down so they were out of a few things. I ordered a house wine and DH ordered Alaskan Kolsch- both tasty. We ended up ordering 1/2 pizza with reindeer sausage - I mean, why not ? It was Detroit style with the toasty chewy crust and we really liked it. It was a nice snack. The place is total kitsch- everywhere. The entertainer sang songs from Rocky Horror picture show and then a country song and then Que se ra.. all over the place and told funny jokes in between. It's a fun place to spend a few hours and just laugh. Pricing wasn't too bad either. About $50 for 2 beers, 1 wine and the 1/2 pizza.

Yes, it's very tourist heavy. Yes, the food is average and salty. And yes, it is perpetually crowded. But still worth a drink and checking out the unique features of a Wild West saloon! The sawdust covered floors, the taxidermy on the walls, and the swinging doors are all perfect nostalgic touches. And they even have a real pistol from Wyatt Earp hanging behind the bar! You will feel transported back to frontier times! The food is typical bar food with lots of salt and sauce. If you like it that way, great! But would avoid the pretzel with cheese sauce, it was bland. The drink menu looked good and they had plenty of beer choices. The service was friendly if not prompt, but it was packed with cruise ship visitors when we went.

Had to check out the duck farts while we were in town! Great drinks, fun ambience. Everyone was very hospitable. We didn't try food here but drinks were solid. Wish I had taken more pics to share.

This place is definitely the 'it' bar in Juneau. And with good reason. The servers are fun and there was live music on stage in the middle of the day. Everyone orders the duck fart shot here and it's not just because the name is funny (although it is hilarious). It is also very tasty.

The bar bear!

What a great Alaskan experience! Juneau the type that is difficult to describe. Good selection of local beers and fresh food. But what sets this apart is the atmosphere and entertainment! What great energy! Bring your sing-along voice and chime in - have a blast!

Too many folks and not enough originality. You can get a duck fart anywhere. Tourists place with no other options for 5 ships on the dock.

First time in, as with most places in Juneau, few good reviews, few bad ones. They made it through…read morea whole year so figured it was time. -First thing I noticed was menu online was outdated. The new menu, same items but one year later, and now all items are $2 more. Not sure how that works since prices were already high, but it was just something I noticed. -Next while ordering my steak and cheese, everything is an add on, mushrooms, onion, peppers. My wife said she was gona order the Italian and I froze for a moment, were they gona charge me extra for lettuce, cheese, tomato,,,, luckily there was no add ons but that just makes it even more confusing as why veggie and add ons for steak and cheese?? -now the good parts, bread was fresh, soft, sandwiches were good. -house made chips were good, not oily, could use just a little more salt but was good. -$60 for 1 foot long and one 6 inch, bag of house chips and 2 cans of soda, even for Juneau is crazy. I did give 4 stars, food was good, but it's also a sandwich. Place was clean. Based upon their location, I'm sure tourist will pay the price, but personally probably won't be back.

Finally got a chance to try with my husband. I got the meatball and he got the chicken cheesesteak…read more Holy moly they were both delicious. I ordered the meatball which had a sauce that had a little kick which was delicious but it wasn't spicy. The chicken cheesesteak my husband ordered was delicious and I wish I didn't steal as much of his sandwich as I did. The house made chips are definitely worth it. In the future I will put some in my sandwiching or use them to treat the cheesesteak filling like a chip dip. The guy attending the counter was nice to work with and the music and atmosphere were chill but sure it gets busy sometimes. It was an all around great experience and I look forward to doing it again.
