It was good overall. Visited during my cruise port and wanted to eat breakfast somewhere local. The eggs Benedict had barely any hollandaise sauce on it as if they ran out or were rationing but the poached egg was runny and the ham was decent. Was really excited to check out this breakfast spot with my parents while visiting. Unfortunately it was not the best experience. We had ordered French toast with a side of ham and eggs, and a ham scramble. All items were barely warm when served. We ended up needing more maple butter for the French toast and went up to ask for some and the employees seemed as if they were put out by the request. While some of the staff were nice and helpful, overall we just didn't feel welcome and the food tasted good but wasn't enough to make up for the experience. The chicken was burnt and lacked flavor, and my tater tots were soggy because the sandwich juices leaked all over them in the to-go box. My boyfriend ordered the loco moco and said it wasn't good at all. When he called to place the order, the girl who answered the phone didn't even seem to know how to put an order in, which made the process unnecessarily long and frustrating. What completely sealed the deal for me, though, was reading the owner's responses to negative reviews. Instead of addressing concerns professionally or taking accountability, the owner's replies come across as rude, defensive, and borderline hostile. Customers are talked down to, blamed, or dismissed for their experiences. As someone who reads reviews before returning to a restaurant, seeing an owner respond this way is extremely off-putting and makes it clear that customer feedback is not valued here. Between the poor food quality, disorganized service, and the owner's unprofessional behavior online, we will not be coming back. read more

Had the strangest experience recently during the off season. Place is pretty empty, I get a latte that is extremely too sweet, then go back up to the register when there's no line to ask for it to be remade. I say it's too sweet for me and the girl on register offers to DUMP part of it out for me and add more milk (??????). Completely dumbfounded I say oh I was hoping you could remake it? The girl on the expresso bar then pipes up and says we can ring you up for another one if you'd like? No thanks! (?????) The whole time they're darting eyes at each other like wow cannot wait to debrief this stupid customer after she leaves. I made sure to give this establishment multiple tries before writing a review. On the visit where I ordered the chicken... this took an hour to receive the food when I was the only customer. The eggs on all visits were second from being cooked. Unfortunately every time I had uncooked whites but not much. The chicken was overcooked and fried in burnt old oil. The only thing you could taste on the chicken was burnt skin and not a hint of seasoning. The ham was perfectly cooked one time and over the next. This is the run of the mill thin cut ham. There was no seasoning to anything and even my coffee had a bitter taste due to the grind. Normally I could see past this but the coffee was also watery in flavor. All of these issues added to eating in a poorly lit area just adds to the depression of this business. Do I recommend... only if you are starving. Your best shot is the pastries if you do go. The pastries are sub par and slightly overcooked on the bottom. Also, if you are taking food to go they provide forks but no knife for the ham. read more

For reference, I am not looking for a super-sweet drink like most places make a chai latte. My ideal is the authentic Indian chai, which is not very sweet but has wonderful spices, especially cardamom. You can surprise me with a unique variant of that, but please have some flavor that tells me you aren't just a coffee substitute. The place has a cool vibe and seems very popular. I ordered the turkey sandwich and I think it was the best turkey sandwich I have ever had. I think the onions made it over the top. And the tater tops were the best. They were crunchy on the outside and melt in your mouth delicious. The people were friendly and the atmosphere was quaint. I'm sure it would have been nice to eat there but we had other plans since we were only in Juneau for a few hours. We will definitely go again when in Juneau. read more
