We ordered an Alaska fog... However they did not have the green tea for it... So we turned it into a London fog and it was perfectly made... Place has just done a remodel and is very clean and new looking. The service was fast and polite... Definitely recommend. read more

Sacred Grounds - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Juneau, Alaska

This is a coffee shop that has wonderful smoked salmon, and some slushy drink, red in color, that is really good. Someone else ordered it for me, the staff was nice and very quick on getting the drinks read more

Sacred grounds is owned and operated by the Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska out of their headquarters building. Finding this tribally owned coffee shop with a welcoming LGBTQIA flag in the window was the perfect sign that we had picked a good place to hunker down on a cold, rainy and dreary day that made exploring Juneau too tricky. My friend wanted to get some work done and I wanted to read my book. I warmed up with a delicious hot Alaskan Fog beverage then enjoyed a fresh smoothie. The staff at sacred grounds was friendly, the drinks were delicious and the restrooms were super clean. We took an Uber from our boat to the coffee shop since it was raining but the rain had lightened up considerably while we were at the coffee shop so we were able to walk back to our ship. read more

Sacred Grounds - Tribally owned & LGBTQIA friendly - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Juneau, Alaska

Drinks are ok here. We purchased an Alaskan Fog and an Americano. The Alaskan Fog is similar to a tea latte, however, we noticed they use tea bags which seems kind of lazy for a coffee shop. The Americano was fine. After purchasing 2 drinks and sitting down, I felt the urge to use the restroom. When the barista brought the drinks to my table, I asked if I could use the restroom. Their policy is that restrooms are only for the handicapped and elderly which seems a little overly discriminatory. I mean, it should either be for paying customers only or not. Instead, she told me there was probably a porto potty outside in the parking lot. She didn't tell me exactly where because I don't think she really knew. I had to look around for a few minutes before I finally saw it. You have to exit the shop and walk to the right through a few parking spots and there's a porto potty on the curb. read more

I love to support local coffee shops especially when traveling, so stopping at Sacred Grounds was a must in Juneau. They are located between the State Capitol and State Museum making it a nice stop when visiting. Parking is decent at the facility. The exterior of the place is rather basic, but the owners decorated the interior nicely. There are a few tables and comfy chairs for lingering, but they do a brisk takeout business. I stopped by for an espresso and WiFi break. My espresso was just OK without much fuss. The banana bread was good and a nice break from cruise food. Overall it seems to be a decent but average coffee shop. If you're in the area, stop by Sacred Grounds for a pick me up. Nothing super special but a nice option for those visiting Juneau. read more

Great that they are open in the winter! Coffee was OK. Service was OK. Ambiance was OK. I think I may have left my CC here on accident? It was the last place it was charged. Didn't hear from them, so who knows for sure. Got a replacement. read more

Great find! We had already had coffee, so didn't try theirs, but did get a peach berry smoothie (good) and a spiced apple cider (perfect for the rainy weather). Better though was the lox bagel sandwich (so much yummy smokiness!) and the reindeer sausage eggs Benedict with perfect crispy hash browns. Mmmm... The breakfast burrito was just ok (and not very warm) but the salsa they serve with it is really good. The food took about 20 min, but that was to be expected. If you're in a hurry, stick with the grab and go items like the baked goods. Would totally come back here before we head home! read more

Nice coffee shop! Cute atmosphere! I haven't had a London Fog drink( an Earl Grey tea drink) in a while. They make a good version of that here too! Nice drink to have when the rainy season kicked it up was gearing up when we were in Juneau. They have food to offer which looks promising but we already had breakfast and wanted to have a warm drink to warm up to while out and about in the moody, atmospheric weather. read more

Excellent Juneau coffee house. Very, very smooth roast on the drip. Decent flavor and body. Alternative milks available. Staff is fantastic. Good choice to get a coffee fix! read more

Great coffee, amazing variety of syrup flavors, friendly staff, will stop by here again!!

Very smooth and easy drinking coffee. Clean and cheerful shop with broad menu and fun offerings. Fast service.

Good coffee and friendly staff. Keto-friendly options like the Bullet Coffee and instead of the Burrito on the menu- they will make it bowl-style and remove the potatoes. If the line at Sandpiper is overflowing, then check this place out. Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska owns the Coffee shop and it's always great supporting local. They offer a government and senior discount of 10%, a military discount of 15% and if you bring in your own cup for coffee to reduce waste, they take $.50 off your drink order. read more

Good service. Friendly staff. Coffee is good. Alternative milks available. Their pastries are good. I had the orange cranberry - moist with a nice crunchy top. Breakfast burritos and sandwiches avaipable. Small amount of seating indoors and outdoors. WiFi is ok. read more

The new food menu is really good, I've tried the cubano, burger, halibut burger, and the breakfast burritos, have been impressed with all so far. The absolute best is their fish and chips! The staff is friendly and engaging, I've witnessed them be very courteous to unfriendly customers and they work to improve, if the customer isn't satisfied they work to rectify. read more

Decent coffee shop, not super work friendly. It gets busy throughout the day if cruise ships are here, but not crowded. Pros: * The drinks and food are good if a little pricey. * Their branding is very cool. * They have a variety of seating options. * They have open outlets so you can work on your laptop Cons: * Wifi is mediocre on speed * They have this insane 15-minutes of wifi per item ordered thing * The cellular is good for hotspoting, but when the people leave their cruise ship you can go from 34 Mbps to 200kbps and really miss that wifi read more

Great local coffee place. Cool, relaxed atmosphere. Friendly. Nice selection of drinks.

I'm in Juneau for two days and walk to The highly rated sacred grounds coffee Shoppe. I ordered a large black coffee and I could not believe how weak the strength was. I saw her using the espresso machine and I assume that I received a 20oz Americano with only one shot. The barista probably should've asked me if I wanted additional shots. I threw it on the ground. McDonald's would've been a much better option. read more

Great service and the coffee is perfect! I recommend stopping here. Next time I'll try the eggnog latte.

I don't know if these workers are starting to hate their job or if they're just having multiple "off" days. Their customer service haven't been the best and that is why I will not be coming back to support Sacred Grounds anymore. The cashier looked like she was busy so I waited but after a few moments, all she did was stared at me. Didn't ask if I needed help or let me know she's ready or if I was ready to order. When the coffee was made, they usually let the customers know. My coffee had been sitting and I had to go ask if it was mine and they say, "I think so?" I used to like coming here because of the atmosphere but lately, the workers haven't been the friendliest and lacking customer service. I remember when they used to great you, make conversation and smile. Now a days, it seems like everytime I go in that it's a pain for them to actually work. read more

Very good, casual fare. Great coffee. The staff were thoughtful and ensured you received good service. The menu is limited but the items that are available are very good. read more

Poor service. Had to remind them to bring our order. Never brought the salsa for our breakfast burrito. And the shop was not at all busy. Mediocre coffee. Won't be back. read more

Sacred Grounds staff I've met are always friendly, their drink selection is creative and fun, and it's not crowded. The storefront is a little hidden, but I'm surprised that more people haven't caught on to how great this place is. read more
