If you can, definitely make reservations here. We shared a king crab leg, citrus salmon plate and buffalo wings. Everything was delicious! Service was superb and quick! Our food came out in a timely manner and our waters were constantly filled. Overall I enjoyed eating here. Especially being able to watch the seaplanes take off from our tables window. This is definitely a cool place to visit while in Juneau

Buyer Beware! Junk…read morefees are so 2020. I'm in Juneau, Alaska on a long-term work assignment, and due to the limited restaurant options, I've ended up eating at The Hangar on the Wharf several weeks in a row. Every single time, they tack on a 3-5% "convenience" or "service" fee to the bill -- even when sitting at the bar with average service at best. I've asked ownership multiple times to remove these outdated junk fees and simply price the menu honestly instead of sneaking extra charges onto the check. Many states are now passing laws to prohibit businesses from randomly adding surprise fees to customer bills because consumers are tired of deceptive pricing practices. All this does is hurt employees' tip opportunities and frustrate customers. The food and service simply are not good enough to justify hidden surcharges on top of already high prices. Transparent pricing matters.

Our table ordered one pound of the king crab special that also came with a claw. It was AMAZING. They gave you these great crab cutters that they also let you take home with you. Our waitress was on point when she washed them and brought them back to us. SUPERB service. We also ordered crab bisque, crab sliders, and fried shrimp. The bisque was DELICIOUS. It rivaled the lobster bisque I enjoy on the coast of Maine.... Dare I say even better. The shrimp was fried perfectly and the coleslaw on the crab sliders was SO GOOD. The ambiance is cool. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you and announce the state you live in. It was fun hearing from where everyone was visiting from. I was skeptical that such a hyped up spot would live up to my expectations but I was WRONG. It far exceeded my expectations. This place is a MUST.

Overall I thought it was good, but the price is what makes it hard for me to fully love it. The crab legs are huge and definitely easier to get the meat out, which I liked. The crab itself was good, but for me it was just missing a little more flavor to justify that kind of price. The crab bisque was ok and I felt like it needed a little hot sauce. Crab cakes were also ok. I'm glad we tried it and I can see why it's popular if you're stopping in Juneau and want to do the king crab thing at least once. For me this is probably more of a one and done spot. Good experience, but I'm not sure it's worth spending close to $400 again when I think there are better values out there.

First when you enter this place is a splash of color against Juneau's grey skies. It breathes rainbows, funk, and ooey gooey deliciousness! They have sweaters and cute swag when you walk in. Taking a look around you can tell this location is well loved and the artistry brings a smile to your face. The donuts range $6-$13 each. $13 for the famous Salmon donut. And yes, I ate it, and can tell you- it's decent! Not my favorite but the taste was subtle. Even my daughters (10 and 11) thought it was good. But what we went bananas for was the Elvis donut. A large, pillowy donut featuring peanut butter, bacon, and honey. Hungry yet? Can you mail me some one because I miss this already! The service was wonderful. The cashier was patient and the donuts arrived quickly. This is one stop during my trip I would say is two thumbs up- it's worth the hype.

We asked what they recommended and without hesitation they said the salmon donut. I'll be honest, I was skeptical but we ordered one anyway and it was actually so good. The brioche donut base is fantastic and I think they use it for all of their donuts. We also got the Moose Tracks donut and wow... I genuinely think it might have been the best donut I've ever had. When I got home, I found out Jellyfish has gone viral for their salmon donut (I think the Ketchikan location is the one that blew up), but this Juneau location absolutely delivered. Definitely stop in if you're in town. You won't regret it!
