    Cute, simple welcoming set up

Not sure if it's the culture to be grumpy at grumpy's but when I ordered and asked for a particular smoothie, I was corrected by the girl behind the counter who said "we are OUT of bananas" as if I was supposed to know. There was no sign up and I was surprised at how sassy the response was. Coming from a culture where customer service is vital for the survival of a business this was super disappointing and I almost left. I took a step back and said "oh I'm sorry" and took another few mins to make sure I wasn't rude back then went back to order with a diff girl. I hope I just caught her on a bad day or at a bad time, but wish this wasn't my experience. The coffee was yummy and the smoothies too.

We came in and were greeted immediately, the staff are super friendly! We picked up a menu and attempted to order the clam chowder... unfortunately they did not have soup at this location! I wish this info was online! Anyway we ordered the tuna melt... it was amazing, one of the best I've ever had tbh. The sourdough was grilled perfectly. My husband ordered the Bubbas melt, he said it was good. We also got the detox and the energizer. I definitely recommend this place but I'd go to the downtown location next time for soup.

Delicious pastrami sandwich - best I've had in a while. It's full of flavor, perfectly toasted, very satisfying. It's a tiny deli with great staff and a lot of sandwich options.

The healthiest meal I had during my week in Junuae. Eating healthy when traveling is always hard. This was the only place I was able to find a salad, with no meat.

Our cruise ship stopped in Juneau for many hours. Walked the streets looking at trinkets, carvings and needed a break. Had a berry smoothie at Grumpy's and it was just the right thing on a warm day of 70s+. Nice staff who split our smoothie for us. This mall has some nice stores inside so check it out.

Not sure how that works since prices were already high, but it was just something I noticed. -Next while ordering my steak and cheese, everything is an add on, mushrooms, onion, peppers. My wife said she was gona order the Italian and I froze for a moment, were they gona charge me extra for lettuce, cheese, tomato,,,, luckily there was no add ons but that just makes it even more confusing as why veggie and add ons for steak and cheese?? -now the good parts, bread was fresh, soft, sandwiches were good. -house made chips were good, not oily, could use just a little more salt but was good. -$60 for 1 foot long and one 6 inch, bag of house chips and 2 cans of soda, even for Juneau is crazy. I did give 4 stars, food was good, but it's also a sandwich. Place was clean. Based upon their location, I'm sure tourist will pay the price, but personally probably won't be back.

I ordered the meatball which had a sauce that had a little kick which was delicious but it wasn't spicy. The chicken cheesesteak my husband ordered was delicious and I wish I didn't steal as much of his sandwich as I did. The house made chips are definitely worth it. In the future I will put some in my sandwiching or use them to treat the cheesesteak filling like a chip dip. The guy attending the counter was nice to work with and the music and atmosphere were chill but sure it gets busy sometimes. It was an all around great experience and I look forward to doing it again.

We ordered (2) Combo #1 ($104/ea), which included one Red King Crab leg, crab bisque, four crab cakes, and a roll with butter. Drinks are extra. Be prepared for a wait! The line was extremely long, stretching all the way toward the visitor center. It took us about 30 minutes to reach the counter and order. There was plenty of staff working, though, and everything moved along pretty smoothly. One fun touch: when you order, they ask for your name and where you're from. When your food is ready, they call out your name and city/state or country while looking for where you're seated. It was pretty cool hearing where everyone was visiting from. The inside has a fun fishing village atmosphere with plenty of seating, although most of the tables are shared. The staff was friendly and did a great job cleaning tables immediately after people finished, keeping things moving. Now for the food, it was amazing! Some of the best crab we've ever eaten. The King Crab was fantastic, the bisque was rich and flavorful with big chunks of crab throughout, and the crab cakes were delicious as well. Just know going in that it's expensive. Two Combo #1s, one soda, and tip came to $230.36. It's definitely a splurge, but when you're visiting Alaska and want some incredible King Crab, this is the place to do it. We would absolutely eat here again!

We ordered 1 lb of king crab, the halibut fish tacos, and I paired my meal with an Alaskan Amber beer. Everything we came for was excellent. The king crab was fresh, sweet, and cooked perfectly. The halibut tacos were flavorful, with generous portions of fish, and the Alaskan Amber was the perfect local beer to go with the meal. The beans and rice that came with the tacos, however, were just okay. I didn't have high expectations for the sides, and they were pretty forgettable compared to the quality of the seafood. One thing that surprised us was how busy the restaurant was. It's a bit of a walk down the wharf, so I expected smaller crowds, but the place was packed. Despite arriving around 8:40 p.m., well past the peak dinner rush, we were seated without any issues. Even though they were still serving a full restaurant with other parties waiting, we never felt rushed, which we really appreciated. If you're in Juneau and craving fresh seafood, I'd definitely recommend making the walk. The king crab and halibut are absolutely worth it.
