My teammates and I went to Salt and Pepper on a Saturday morning (there were 8 of us total) and the staff was extremely accommodating for our larger party. Our waitress was amazing with bringing pitchers of water over immediately and answering all of our questions. The food was absolutely AMAZING. Our waitress recommended the French toast as her favorite and it was the best French toast I've ever had. They're home fries are really well seasoned making them above and beyond your average home fries. There are not enough stars to describe my experience here. After finding this place so nicely reviewed on Yelp, I stopped in this morning on a road trip breakfast break. A converted house offers warmth and a comfortable atmosphere. The menu was full of hearty down-home breakfast and lunch options at very reasonable prices. The owner, Marina, was not only present, but she was working just as hard as her staff. The pastrami and cheese omelet was fantastic and a different enough breakfast option to intrigue me. Love it! Coffee was rich and warm and refills were plenty. The staff was incredibly attentive. Could not rave more! My only complaint is that they're so far away from my home. This place is awesome. The staff are friendly, as well as on top of their game. You come in pick a seat and sit down. They come over and grab beverage orders right away. The food is delicious. Doesn't matter what you get, as soon as it comes out it will remind you what good food tastes like. The restaurant is cozy, and there is street parking. We always seem to get the same space every time and feel very lucky. The inside is clean and modern. The bathroom is unisex and is in the back on the right. You've gotta be careful as you have to walk up a step to go in. Clean toilet clean counter, fully stocked soap, toilet paper and paper towels. Their corn beef hash is made from scratch. So is their Greek sweet bread that they use to make French toast. Their hollandaise sauce is freshly made, from scratch. Their coffee is strong. The potatoes (home fries) are perfect. A bit crispy from the grill, but soft and flavorful. Sweet and salty. You can taste rosemary and oregano. This breakfast place may be closed for a month out of the summer (because that's literally all they take off all year), but it's open all year long. If you come to Worcester, skip the miss Worcester diner. This place is cleaner, cooler, has more seating, more room, and friendlier staff. Of the 4 weekend days since discovering this place we've been for breakfast 3 times and are planning to go again this weekend. Nothing particularly special, but not greasy like the diner-car diners and not douchey like the brunch places. It's clean, there's always a decent crowd but never a wait, and everything has been delicious. The veggies in the omelets are plentiful and cooked just like I would blanch them myself. The bulkie roll on the breakfast sandwich is soft and grilled perfectly. Pancakes are just barely crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Home fries with red potatoes like my mom would make. I was a fan of this place until I was scammed out of 95 cents. Now on principle, I will not return. I ordered an egg white omelette. On the menu it says this. "For egg whites(plural) is an extra 95 cents." I'm fine with this. I always pay extra for egg whites. When I looked at receipt, I saw 95 cents twice. I informed the waitress about this, and in a condescending manner, she said that I was charged twice because they needed to use 2 egg whites which just makes no sense. I then showed her the small print on the menu, and she just brushed me off and said that I was wrong. Ummmm. No, I am right, and you charged me 95 cents extra. Either change the wording on menu or stop scamming all customers that order egg whites It's too bad because I was starting to like this place. I was up early to get some work done on a paper I was writing and was looking for breakfast places on Yelp that looked like I could get some work done in. I found Salt & Pepper and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was really cute, the side tables are sort of like a couch lined with outlets and pillows, and there was a string of lights behind the bar/register area. I ordered an egg-white omelette with feta and spinach with wheat toast. It was pretty excellent, and despite usually skipping carb-y sides, the home fries were also very well seasoned and delicious. The lady who took my order was *very* nice and attentive, she poured me very many cups of coffee--which was about 3 considering my Gilmore-level of coffee drinking--and even offered to give me coffee to-go. Sat at the counter and had a great omelette and the service was perfect. As I finished my breakfast two gentlemen came out of the kitchen speaking very loud. One walked over to the small counter top ice machine and grabbed some ice with his hand then took the same tub of ice out of the machine and put it in the cooler with the same ice they serve customers. Even though I'm sure he wasn't thinking about what he was doing, this bothered me. People in the restaurant business should always be aware of sanitary conditions. The corned beef hash was by far better than just about every other place I have tried out there--it doesn't come out of a can. What a find! We were visiting the area for a family event and decided to try S&P for breakfast. We lucked out since they have just reopened after their summer vacation. It's absolutely perfect. I have tried a few in the area, and this was my favorite corned beef hash breakfast. The pancakes were delicious. That gigantic omelette is absolutely delicious. If you like crispy bacon, best to ask for it well done, as they opt for the more fatty type. When you ask for it well done, it's perfect. I admit, the coffee was a little weak, and the potatoes could stand to be browned a little more (although they were seasoned perfectly). If you want simple breakfast done right, come here. Okay, so some of the things were a little different but the food overall was very good. My daughter ordered cereal and it came with the milk already in it. I found that kind of strange. The drinks were delicious, and the hash was some of the best hash I have had in a very long time. Overall a good choice for a morning breakfast in downtown. I'm pretty new to the area and a coworker recommended this place to me. I decided to give it a try and I was pleasantly surprised. Typical diner setup with some modern touches, cute, clean, spacious. I sat at the "bar" area (I bartend parttime and I always gravitate towards the bar). Dee was the woman who took my order, gave me great recommendations and even suggested her favorite drink! Nantucket nectars red plum --- she got one for herself and poured a little in a cup for me to try, probably my new favorite juice. I ended up getting my own because it was so good. She was very attentive, checked on me multiple times to make sure everything went well with my order. I opted for the smokehouse burger combo (burger, drink and fries). Really great this place opened up in town, would give 5 stars but the server that was working this Wednesday was extremely unprofessional. If guests walk in at 1:15pm and you close at 2pm, don't make them feel guilty for ordering in the restaurant. If we came in at 1:45, I could maybe understand but the way she acted was straight up rude. I work in the restaurant industry, and I can tell you there is no need for that behavior.
