Meh. I had the Stuffed Sopapilla, the wife had the Navajo Tacos. Not good. Unless you like lots and lots of doughy breading. Then it's terrific. Otherwise it's sort of sad and soggy stuff; and where was the green sauce that was supposed to be on/under/some place with the Sopapilla? Couldn't find it. Couldn't find any of that cheese that was supposed to be stuffed inside either. The chips were a little greasy; but the three sauces that came with them were great... had a little heat, a little flavor. The rice was good, the beans average. The prices on their web page are waaaay stale, BTW. Kick them up about 30%. All in all an over priced, blah meal. It takes a nice photo though. Snap a picture before diving in... because if you eat with your eyes, as they say, it'll be the best part of your meal. read more

Absolutely the best Mexican food. Ever! Salsa Brava I'm truly blown away by everything I ate tonight. The waitstaff is top notch. The chips are fresh the salsas are just. Wow. Mild to HOLY HELL HOTTT! great depth and flavor. Loved the house blend nice and smokey. A compliment to any meat. Try the cheese crisp with green Chile's. Just awesome. I had the Maui taco. The rub the use on the pork has a smokey mild pop with a bite of pineapple. I recommend the fried ice cream for desert. One of the best dining experiences ever. Make a reservation for sure. Never been here but my son wanted Mexican food. We were seated right away, given chips and told about the salsa bar. 7 different salsas.. I tried the tomatillo, my husband tried the roasted salsa and my son the mild. All were flavorful. I ordered the taco salad with carne asada, my son ordered the bean and cheese chimi my husband ordered carne asada with green sauce. So my taco salad was fine.. How can you go wrong with a salad? My son's chimi was fine again a bean and cheese chimi not much to fail on. My husband's chimi well that was another story.. His plate was full of grease.. Like literally. He sent it back and got nachos Brava instead which was better. I can't say anything spectacular about it here... Beside the service being good.. Restrooms clean.. Salsa bar good... Apparently Guy F from diners and dives came here, we didn't eat what he ate but I can't say anything stuck out. I'm not from this area, but if I was I the area I'd doubt I would come back. read more

Food didn't meet our expectations. We had Chicken Dorados, Navajo taco and Sopapillas. Both plates didn't have any favor. Portion size is smaller than other restaurants. Chicken was stuck together like it came out of a can. Disappointment on the Navajo Taco. We sat there during our meal with no drink refill for 15 mins and no servers walking around. I guess that's what we get for sitting way in the back. It been a few years since we've been here and decided to give it another shot but no improvements. We had a wonderful experience in the outdoor tent Thursday, the 19th of October, 2020. We felt comfortable and safe and the fajitas were excellent. Loved the vibe in this place. All the decor is very Cute. Our service was great, however it was on a slower afternoon. We got seated right away and our server explained about salsa bar. All their salsas are good! I tried the sopilla that guy had. It was good. I would say out of this world, but for my liking it had too much cheese inside. I stopped here with my husband for dinner while traveling from Sedona to Page. I had this flagged well in advance because it was showcased on triple d. My original plan was to eat what Guy ate "The Navajo Taco" but I had already eaten a Navajo Taco on an Indian reservation a couple of days prior, and it left me with horrible acid reflux. So unfortunately I had to forgo the Navajo! My husband and I both ordered the Carne Asada Tacos and they were pretty authentic. We also ordered the Elote as an appetizer and it was good, but I've had better Elote. It was essentially seasoned corn with tortilla chips. I think it needed some additional texture like cream cheese or something similar. Still it was a decent experience, and the service was good. read more

We were driving from Horseshoe Bend with a HUGE appetite after hiking and kayaking all morning and it was Cinco de Mayo - so of course for lunch we wanted some good Mexican food and Yelp brought us here - AND IT WAS AWESOME. I got the Navajo taco (mainly because Guy Fieri also got this here) and my bf got the Gordito Burrito and I am not exaggerating when I saw you automatically drop your jaw when they put the dish on the table ... the portions are unreal. It's actually ridiculous. I couldn't finish mine, and he struggled to finish his - we definitely could have just split an entree. They were both very filling and delicious. I also got a drink from their Cinco de Mayo special, a watermelon margarita, which tasted so good and refreshing, and the flan for dessert (which I insisted I would make room for) and it was the perfect amount of sweet to end the meal. MOST IMPORTANTLY what made this such a memorable experience was our waitress, Janee. She was not only very attentive and had great recommendations, but she was also very friendly, cracked a funny joke here and there, and always had a smile on her face! After seeing the reviews and photos, we were left very unimpressed. Called in a Togo order. The meal was ready when I arrived and sitting behind the hostess stand. There was nobody at the hostess stand, I was however greater by several of the servers that passed by. A server did finally come to the stand to help me, when I told her was I there to pick up an order she went to get the hostess. When I arrived home, the containers were a little on the soggy side. We ordered an appetizer of Chile con queso, coming from Texas, I was expecting something very different. What I got can only be described as a yellow soup, there was a flavor of more like tortilla soup rather then queso. My daughter had order the Grande Burrito, it looked amazing but since the container was soggy and soft the bottom had pushed the burrito up into the top. My wife had ordered the chicken and sour cream enchiladas, again the container had collapsed. She felt the tortilla had more flavor than the chicken and sauce. I ordered the steak fajitas. First off, they forgot to include the tortillas. When I opened the box, I was expecting to see a combination of meat and veggies. What I got was a mound of onions and peppers with a couple of strips of meat. The meat was very bland, no flavor at all. The only highlight of the meal was the sopapillas, they were pretty amazing and the size was huge! I don't know if I will try or recommend. read more

I have to write and extra review to say that my son got sick right when we were about to leave and they didn't make me feel more horrible then I already did for it happening. They wished him well and told me not to worry. Asked if there was anything else I needed, but I just wanted to make sure had they didn't have to much of it to clean up. If you are white and your favorite food is Mexican food and you can only handle mild salsa, this is the place for you.

While the service has always been reasonably good, the quality and flavor of the food items, across the menu, have significantly declined over the past few years. On a recent visit where friends who chose this place, we decided to give it another try. The salsa, usually an easy way to prove your skills, was horrible and sat barely touched. Ever the pico do gallo was off, seemed to be made with spoiled/tasteless ingredients. Another salsa was a fruity concoction which was jarring in its flavor and spice-less! The entres were all bland and lacked freshness. My niece was bought a chicken dish filled instead with shrimp. It took 30min to replace. Finally, the elote appetizer (hard to screw up) was so bad my 5 year old could not eat - this is first in her life as this is a staple for her. On a positive note, the place was clean and ambiance pleasant enough. Times have been hard for all during the past three years but the fall Salsa Brava has taken is steep and seems to show no sign of improvement. read more

It must've been an off night because I been wanting to try this place since I saw it onTriple D...employees were all very friendly and attentive. Served chips and you pick your salsas. Chips are not homemade and not good and the salsas were mediocre at best. Ordered Blackened Salmon tacos but was served a regular fish taco which was good. My son ordered chicken tacos and No Bueno! The chicken is very smoky and dry. Rice had a good garlic flavor. Black beans had too much cumin for my taste buds. Chile relleno was OK. The retried beans were bland. I wanted to like this place but totally failed to deliver. I probably should've ordered the Navajo taco like Guy Fieri. I am really surprised they have so many great reviews maybe I need to try it one more time read more

Wow delicious! We came on Monday, House Margaritas were on sale, and wow all the flavors we're great! Peach, mango, strawberry, and raspberry. Frozen or regular. Food was excellent, I ate way too much because it was just too good to stop. They have a wonderful salsa bar with 5 different flavors. Service was super nice, probably the best I've ever had from a Mexican restaurant. Food came out in maybe 3 minutes, and we ordered two sets of fajitas. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Really, because Guy Fieri was here they think they are hot you know what? Wrong!!! The place smells bad of ground beef and grease. They have no sense of organization. Hostess told us to order "to go" from the bartender. After Standing in the bar for 15 minutes the bartender was too busy to take our order. Do people really fall for that "celebrity" crap? Chips good, food mediocre at best. Navajo Taco is their own spin nothing like a traditional taco. The bread was thick and lacked serious flavor. Even a pinch of salt in the dough mixture goes a long way. Every cook knows this. The bread was very thick, dry, hard to choke down. Seriously disappointing. Chicken mole was also very dry, like it was nuked prior to serving. However, the carnitas was out of this world! But still they only get 2 stars overall for food. I'd go back for four things....drinks, chips, carnitas, and amazing server! It was really good! I usually cringe at the thought of Mexican food spot in Arizona since typically it's Tex-Mex and I am not a fan of that style. But the hubby found this place on Yelp & since Guy Fieri visited we took a chance. The salsa bar is really cool because you get the endless chips and salsa like a regular Mexican restaurant but you get to pick your salsa. I loved the pineapple habanero salsa, but watch out, it does not seem hot when you start eating it but that sucker creeps up on you!! #fire The servers were friendly, the place is clean, the drinks were delicious! We grabbed dinner to go while we were in the hotel. Picked up 3 huge togo boxes. We had one stuffed sopapilla and 2 Navajo tacos. The chicken stuffed sopapilla with green sauce was one of the best things we've ever had. Amazing! The pork Navajo tacos were very good in their own right but paled compared to the sopapilla. 15 minutes from the time we ordered until we picked it up. Zero waiting. The Salsas that we grabbed for the chips were awesome as well. The pineapple habanero, tomatillo and the roasted tomato were insanely good with a solid kick of heat. The wait staff was very friendly. Besides being delicious, sopapilla is just really fun to say!! Great experience! read more
