Ate twice at Sal's while visiting during EAA. I grew up in a New York suburb, and Sal's is the real deal--it reminded me of the first pizzeria in my home town (back when a slice was 15 cents and then a quarter!). Crust is nice and crisp, and just the right blend of cheese and tomato sauce. Don't be put off by the fact that he reheats slices on order--that's how it's done back east and everywhere else. This is some of the nastiest pizza I've ever eaten. I got their 18" sausage and mushroom pizza with other extra toppings on top and when I chewed into it, the main things I got were oil, salt, and dough. I think there was meat in there but the unbalanced textures and flavors made my taste buds confused, and I wasn't sure whether I was chewing any sausage or extra meatballs added when I got into this wreckage of a "pizza"; didn't taste any mushrooms for the mushroom part of the pizza either. This is clearly drunk food emphasized by its greasiness and ridiculous sodium content overload. The way this place abuses pizza and it's simple concept is a crime. Last night I had the pleasure of visiting Sal's with a couple of kids and their mother. The kids like Sal's because they can each have a slice of their favorite (their mom likes it for the same reason--no argument). I liked it because it's hard to find pizza outside of the Five Boroughs that would feel at home in Brooklyn or Staten Island. Pizza is ok. Typically good at bar close. I've been sick from this twice. Pizza sits out up to 4 hours before they reheat it. Guys that work there try to charge some people extra money, so pay attention. This has happened a lot! Some Non-professional workers tend to also make inappropriate comments or gestures to females. read more

This place was terrible. The pizza was a 4/10 but the Service was outrageously bad. One of the workers gfs walked in when the place was busy, amd the cashier kicked out guys in a booth who just got thier pizza so this how could sit down. I will never go again read more

I go here with my friends when we all wanna hang out. It's a good place, with good pizza, good drinks, and a friendly atmosphere. Also good cause you get to watch drunk people stagger around outside (there's a bar next door). read more

Pizza was excellent..service terrible..hard to do at a place where you just step up and order byand pay..but today..they made it happen...bad service..first ignored by the guy at the counter and then the girl comes to ask what we need..the phone rings and again we are waiting..then she cuts the pizza and cuts small slices compared to what was available for the other pizzas on display..overall not our best experience here :( read more

New to the Fox Valley, I did not know where to look for East Coast pizza. Sal's is pretty close. I got pepperoni - good choice. I like crust a little stretchier, but overall, it's great. Will be back. read more

Every time I am in Appleton I make a stop here. They always have the basics and a few specialty toppings as well. It is fast, good and a lot. I never leave hungry and I never leave disappointed. read more

As far as the pizza itself goes, it was about on par for a late-night snack. They had a good variety in selections and found myself wanting to try two slices; the mac & cheese and hawaiian. Both were pretty good. They aren't Ian's in Madison WI good but still they were ok.. While the pizza was decent, the reason for the low rating was the fact that I cannot get over the customer service or lack thereof. I had a similar experience to some of the other raters; the staff was unfriendly to the point they seemed annoyed that they even had customers and just seemed to not want to be there. Their pizza, in my opinion, is just not good enough to endure their level of customer service. Unless that changes, I will not be back. read more

Tried Sals for the first time. And although the pizza looked very tasty when I received my slice the pizza was cold. I can deal with cold pizza but what I can't handle is how the employees treated their customers. While in line I over heard an argument between the employees and some customers. The employees proceeded to kick out the customers right after they had sat down to eat their pizza with no reason at all. Very unsettling and I will never dine at this establishment again and I'm not sure how they ever get repeat business. read more

Every time I go there, they are out of Mac & Cheese pizza. Everyone I know goes to Sals for their Mac & Cheese pizza and are always disappointed when they have to choose a less popular option. Maybe have more popular kinds on display. read more

Deep dish (or fat slice) had an awesome crust and the dough was light a fluffy I was surprised by taste and would come back for that! .... Drunk college crowd at 1:30 can't be avoided, but definitely a money maker. read more

New to Appleton and my girlfriend took me here. Food was great and came out in a reasonable amount of time,price was fair and employees were nice. I got calzone and the only issue I had was that they wouldn't do a side of Alfredo sauce no clue why and to tired to ask. I Will be back. read more
