I would just like to add that Noah is now the hairstylist for both me and my husband, and the owner of Salon Ro5. All I can say is this salon is awesome. Noah is awesome. Everything is awesome. I love that during the head massage part, he says "Close your eyes and enjoy", which helps you to fully relax. Another thing I love about him is that you have a mini-consultation with him before you even begin, allowing you the chance to talk about your thoughts and the direction that you want to go. He is totally responsive and listens to what you want, yet he won't hesitate to give his professional opinion if you ask for it. Just a quick background: I have been a customer of this salon for the last 2 years, saw this place through two different owners. After the new owners came onboard roughly 8 months ago, this place has received a major makeover and is now easily a thousand times better! I will break it down real quick with categories I care about: Location/Parking: The salon is very centrally located. Not to mention it has a great hip coffee shop as its neighbor. There're plenty of parking spaces in the garage next door. My parking spot was literally a few yards from the salon itself. Decor: The new owners have virtually transformed this place from a mere haircut place into a modern and sleek space. When you enter from the storefront, it feels like you just step into someone's elegant living room - with Architectural Digest-worthy decor, artwork, and furniture. For women (and men) who care, they have plenty of current fashion and lifestyle magazines to choose from while you wait for your turn. The whole space simply spells a trendy modern vibe. It assures you that you're going to be in good hands. Service: Lizena greeted me as soon as I stepped in the door. She offered me coffee and was very friendly and professional. I had my hair appointment with Noah Calderon, the new owner. I came in a few minutes before my appointment time and I was in Noah's chair within 5 minutes. Resuit: Noah is truly my all-time favorite. You can tell from consultation to the end result that he cares about your hair and how you will feel wearing the new cut. He didn't talk at me about how my hair should look. Rather, he discussed and explained to me without rushing me to settle for a cut. From the way he cut my hair, you also know that he thought through every step. At the end, he produced a great sleek A-line bob for me. I got non-stop compliments about my new bob (no joke) everywhere I go! My new bob really exceeded what I had imagined for myself before I entered the salon. In sum: If you want great friendly service, reasonable price, a stylist that cares and knows his craft, go to Noah! I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. This is an amazing salon! People are super friendly and super patient. The first time I went I got my hair done by Maira. She took her time with my hair (long and full) - which must have taken upto 3-4 hours to do. Very thorough and upbeat. It was like hanging out with a friend - and my hair looked gorgeous. All the time she spent on my hair totally showed in its perfection! She was creative with its color scheme as well, and it came out great! The second time I went there, Maria was busy so Tamara took me in. This experience was also amazing. They are so close knit there - the warmth shows! And everybody seems to love what they do! Tamara made suggestions to achieve a even look and for day-to-day maintenance of my hair. They were running short on time since I took one of the later appointments, so Maria jumped in to help wash / blow dry my hair. I had two hair dressers working on my hair at once. They both made me feel so special! Again the end result showed the amount of effort and time spent on my hair. Absolutely beautiful!! This has to be one of the best salon experiences I've ever had! I have been getting my hair done at VOLR for the past 2 years and I have always had a great experience there. The staff is very friendly and they have a very consultative approach. I have always seen Noah and have recommended the salon to several friends who have all been pleased. I like the way they take the time to get on the same page and make recommendations if need be rather than pushing products or fads. Everything that they do is done with care and I would feel confident recommending this salon to anyone! My stylist Noah has been taking care of me for several years and has seen me through blonde, brunette and red and now back to blonde. I followed Jillian to this salon, because she is so amazing, and despite the drive from the West Valley, I love this salon. It has an energetic, kicky vibe and a friendly, convivial environment. As for Jillian, she has the rare ability of not only listening and knowing exactly what your hair needs and you want, but also has the talent to execute that vision. In her tactful, poised way, she gets there, wherever your "there" is. When I get compliments on my hair, i am happy to recommend Jillian; everyone I have referred to her has switched over, including my husband. Being new to Phoenix and only basing my views off of Yelp, I thought I'd try Salon Ro5. The reviews came up as a comfortable atmosphere and friendly people. Which is completely true! Everyone was kind and helpful. However, what I didn't read about was the pricing. For a haircut, I paid $55 and that was not including a tip. That's a bit pricey for me ($63 with a tip) especially considering that I'm a college student with a pile of bills. I enjoyed the place, the people and the haircut looks good but unfortunately I won't be able to return. read more

This place is awesome! I've had some pretty terrible experience with bad haircuts in the past, and I've never had a haircut that I loved. VOLR was a completely different experience! Keith cut my hair and did such an amazing job. He is super knowledgable and made some really great suggestions while consulting with me before he started. I am pretty protective of my long hair, and he was very reassuring and professional. I am so happy with the way my hair turned out. After he cut it, he did the most beautiful blow dry. He showed me his technique for curling hair using a dryer and it was so cool. I didn't even know my hair could do that. Amazing.
