It's been awhile since I didn't cut my hair so I decide to look in Yelp for a place. This salon catch my attention so I decide even though I didn't have an appointment (although t is recommended for any kind of service almost everywhere ), When I enter instantly feel welcomed by Alejandra such a sweet lady I show her some ideas but mostly she listen to what I had in mind and what kind of haircut I was looking for . The haircut overcome my expectations , She even took the time to show me the natural way of my hair to curl and different types to style depend the occasion nobody took the time before to explain this .... From now on this is my place also inside is an art gallery and a bookstore lots of holistic goodies and events pretty often read more

I've been coming here for several years and it's by far my absolute favorite salon! I've gone to Alejandra and Meredith, and I love them both -- can't go wrong with either of them! This is a "clean air" salon, so unlike most other salons, you won't smell ammonia and nasty chemicals when you walk in. Instead, it smells fresh and pleasant. That's because this salon is serious about their commitment to the most natural professional hair care products out there. I've been to another "organic" salon in Phoenix, and I was disappointed to find that the products they used were not very different at all from conventional salon products. When I came to Abloom, I instantly knew that I'd found MY PEOPLE. They do special treatments using coconut oil & essential oils, and you can buy all-natural sugar scrubs, deodorant and perfume. They even use natural soap in the bathroom, and make many efforts to be "green". Alex has taught me ways to style my hair with very little product, and no heat! To me, this is the kind of stuff a true organic salon should be doing. These are the kinds of things that are important to my values & ethics, and I love that I've found a place that respects those same things. As far as my actual hair, I've only gotten cuts & styles here, and they've done a beautiful job every time. I always leave very happy. I haven't had my hair colored in years, but whenever I see the gorgeous color they do on other clients, I entertain the idea. Maybe I'll take the plunge one day ;) I've referred two clients here so far, and will continue to tell everyone who is looking for a great stylist! Love love love! read more

Saw reviews online and decided to call to check if they accepted walk-ins. The line went straight to voicemail but it was full and could not leave a message. Upon checking the post, it stated walk-ins are accepted. I made the 30 minute drive in the rain to be turned away by the hair stylist due to no appointment. I had stated that yelp their post stated they accepted walk-ins, she stated I would have to go back and book an appointment due to their only being 3 stylists that work there. They should update their post to show that there is no walk-in's accepted if they are under staffed and safe potential clients the trip. read more

This place is like paradise, as soon as you walk in smells like amazing herbs, but not like cooking ones, the one that heal your soul... this place has a magic vibe, magic energy, and magic hands... Alejandra es fantástica! Her energy is absolutely incredible! My hair is soooooooooo straight and boring and then she applies her magic and poof! My hair has waves, volume, shape... it's been a pleasure for me to have Alejandra in my life and apply her awesome vibra to my precious hair... Meredith has been doing my hair for years now! I've said it before and I will keep saying it, she never disappoints and she keeps my hair healthy and long just how I like it. My experience in her chair is always just her and I, nothing else matters! Her focus is on me and only me... I never feel rushed and the conversation is always great! Now as for the salon itself, the atmosphere is so relaxing and the owner is AWESOME! I love this place and totally recommend to anyone who is need of quality hair services. (Oh, and there is fun art to look at as well )o read more

Oh my gosh! I can not believe I ever wrote a review about the salon. I've been coming here for a couple of years, I see Meredith, and my balayage always looks amazing. I always get compliments on my hair color and hair in general, Meredith also cuts my hair. I've seen the work of all the girls there, Alejandra and Heather, and they are all amazing. The products are TOP notch. They are non-toxic, quality ingredients. I wouldn't go to any other salon. read more

I have been coming to Heather for over 5 years and she is truly amazing! She has given me a beautiful cut and color every time, she is not only technically talented but super friendly and professional. She has cut my hair in all different styles: long, short, bob, blunt, textured, and I'm so happy every time! They have a great environment too, they use all non-toxic products so my hair is healthy and smells/feels great. The vibe is so chill here too, always playing great music, and doubles as an art gallery with some beautiful pieces that are different every time. You can really feel a sense of the Phoenix community here! I absolutely love this place! read more

I have been seeing Kaitlyn for HCG Weight loss and energy shots! It is going great! I feel so much better and have met my first goal - it was so easy - I changed my goal and now 2 lbs from that goal! Kaitlyn is a great coach and with her help I am doing it this time! read more

Came from Tucson to get my hair cut here and plan on doing so from now on. I have thinning hair/rough texture due to hormonal issues so I'm nervous about getting haircuts. Luckily, I got my hair cut by Heather and it was maybe the best haircut I've ever had! She is a true artist. Listens to exactly what you want, takes a lot of time making it look great, and walks you through different products/styles/answers questions. Also: she is a total joy to chat with. Everyone in here was super nice and professional, and the vibe feels really special. It's beautiful and artistic, and they use nontoxic products. Definitely reccomend this salon, what a gem! read more

I recently went to Abloom Salon and got my hair done by Carla Fretz. She was amazing! She paid attention to everything I wanted done to my hair and knew exactly what to do! She even made sure with her boss that what she was going to do was what should be done which I really appreciated. She took such good care of me and even gave me the best head massage while rinsing out my hair, I was in heaven! My hair turned out exactly how I wanted and I will definitely be going back to Carla in the future! read more

Heather did an incredible job with my hair and overall experience today. She listened and guided me to the cut and style I've been wanting for ages. Clearly skillful, talented and kind, I highly recommend her. The space in and of itself is beautiful and calming. This is my new go to spot for hair care and I couldn't be happier. read more

I love abloom - and my stylist, Meredith! I've been going to her for the past year plus to get my hair cut, and it always looks great. I often go in not knowing how I want to change things up, and she's always able to offer suggestions that are on trend and also complement my features and hair texture well. I've been undecided about getting bangs recently, and Meredith encouraged me to try it out, cutting a fringe that frames my face so well, and even makes my hair look fuller (I have thin/fine textured hair). Abloom is also a great place - I can look at the art from the Abe Zucca gallery and sip tea during an aloe scalp treatment, the products are all organic and have no overwhelming chemical fragrance, and the atmosphere is positive and peaceful. If you're looking for a new stylist, go to Meredith at Abloom! read more

I created a Yelp account just so that I could review Abloom! From the minute I walked in here I felt welcomed, celebrated, and comfortable. The air smelled fresh and the space was beautiful, with a community atmosphere from the yoga mats on the walls to the art in the gallery exhibit. Although my appointment started a bit later than scheduled, there was tea to sip while I waited and I enjoyed Abe Zucka's art on the walls. I would describe Alejandra as a good listener who took my input seriously, but also let her intuition and the natural structure of my hair guide the cut. I could tell that she was really noticing, taking time and care, and paying attention throughout the cut. I love the cut that I walked out with and will definitely be coming back, and sharing with my friends! This is a place where beauty of all types is celebrated and drawn out. I do not usually spend a lot of money on my hair, but this was worth every penny! read more

Great haircut! Alexandra did exactly what I wanted with very little instruction. Probably one of the best haircuts I've had. Also beautiful space and very nice non toxic products. read more

This review is long overdue: I got my haircut this past weekend and I am still IN LOVE with my cut! Alex is an incredible soul and her heart for others shines through in her work. I will be returning to Abloom not just for the great service and amazing products (I'm OBSESSED with the new sculpting spray and lip product I purchased during my visit) but also for the amazing artists who work there. Thank you, Alex, for the refreshing salon experience! read more

I have been going to stylist Brittany for a cut/style regularly for about a year, starting at her last salon. She is down to earth and easily translates what I want done to my hair and it always looks great. She doesn't ever insult my hair or my habits in order to sell me products (why do so many stylists think that's an effective tactic?!). She has helped me pick out products when I've asked; and more importantly, she is knowledgeable about the type of products I am interested in - natural/non-toxic and cruelty-free. I found her last salon because I was looking for a salon that didn't do nails or other strong-smelling chemical processes. Abloom is the same - it doesn't smell like toxic soup when you walk in and you don't have to sit and inhale someone else's dye job. The salon uses natural, safe, products and processes. I highly recommend this place to pregnant women or anyone trying to decrease their toxic load. They also have an organic beauty bar, where someone mixes products to-order using herbs and oils. I haven't tried any, but it looks really cool. The space is like a warehouse-gallery. I think it has an evaporative cooler, which - if you know evaps - cools as well as an evap can in the humid months. But I was there during the hottest, most humid time of year and it was fine. I'd rather be warm than cold. If you need ice cold AC, you'll probably be uncomfortable here in July and August. I also like the fact that the people who work here aren't super fake-nice and I can book my appointments with my stylist directly or online. It's also a shared space - there is always new art hanging on the walls and they have yoga classes on the weekends. It's next door to Bragg's Factory Diner, a kitschy veg restaurant that you should probably try too. read more

I can't say enough good about Abloom! I received a hair cut there last week and I'm still on cloud nine about my experience. The space itself is chill, clean and welcoming. I had been wanting to find a "natural" salon after damaging my hair for years and finally having it back to my somewhat natural state, wanting to maintain that integrity of my hair. The space seemed "cool" online before visiting, and the art in the gallery all belongs to her husband. The owner, Alejandra, who cut my hair, is the type of person that being around just makes you want to be a better person yourself. While I was getting my hair cut, one of the colorful wanderers from the neighborhood came into the space (again it's also a gallery, so not too unexpected) clearly in need of help, and Alejandra came out of a back office with a sheet of paper that listed local shelters that could help them. SERIOUSLY? What a good person! Most salon/gallery owners would have simply kicked this individual out. This warmed my heart. It was easy to see that ABloom was a quality space with quality people, and quality products! Ok, back to the actual hair cut, she could tell I was nervous about it (it's been years, and I have hair down to my bum!) and somehow gave me exactly what I pictured in my head and tried to describe. She provided great tips on how to naturally curl my hair with twisting and manipulating with a hair dryer which I couldn't believe I didn't know before. I will never go anywhere else for my hair as long as I live in AZ! I left with an amazing hair cut, and lifted spirits. So much love for ABloom! read more

I've been going to Abloom for a few years now, and everything about this place keeps me coming back. Alejandra is the best when it comes to cutting curly hair, and that is incredibly difficult to find. I feel confident going for dramatic changes because I know that she'll make it look great. The atmosphere is also just a joy to be in. There is excellent art which is constantly changing, and the hot tea and great music. read more

I am in love with the skill, the environment, the love and the passion in this salon. These ladies are so sweet and truly know and understand what they are doing with hair. They are spiritually in touch with hair and are understanding of the attachments some may have to their hair. I was really looking forward to going lighter with my hair so I scheduled an appointment with Alondra since I've seen the work she's done on Instagram. When booking her, I like the fact that she took her time to explain the process and just gave me all possible outcomes. I even went to her for a consultation. When the time came for my first appointment she told me she had food poisoning so she had to cancel. No biggie, understandable so we rescheduled. Our rescheduled time comes around and she burns her hand. Again, understandable you don't want to have someone working with chemicals. So we rescheduled the second time. I'm like there's no way she can ask me to reschedule a third time but there it was... a new text asking if I could come the next day since she was still working on someone. Mind you, I was planning on having my hair done by a certain time of the month since events were coming up. Having to be rescheduled three times is such a terrible customer experience and such an inconvenience. It's not like I have the most time on my hands. She ended up sending my deposit back since I didn't continue services with her. In a sense she lost out on a customer who was going to give her business not once, but multiple times since I needed multiple sessions. I went from showing coworkers her work as an example of "shes great, you should go to her! to "your experience won't be as pleasant, don't bother" I'm saying this to just share how my experience went, not saying it's going to happen to everyone. read more

I love my haircut, great space, great staff, awesome essential oil line and I love the organic hair care. Carla did a rad job.

What an amazing atmosphere! I was visiting drom CA and decided to check this place out. They were booked up that day, but scheduled me in for the following day. My experience was truly one I will not forget. From the consult with Alejandra, to the cut and style...then, the raw bar...my hair was in heaven! Thank you to the staff that really made it seem like an inviting place to relax. Alejandra, you are a gem :) read more

I LOVE ABLOOM! Everything from Abe Zucca's prolific art on the walls to Alejandra's beautifully constructed raw beauty bar make it a space to be seen and experienced. Alex was exceedingly patient with me as I agonized over my first haircut in two years (I was there for four hours). She listened to exactly what I wanted and gauged how I felt as she was cutting my hair, picked up on my hesitation and explained what she was doing. She intuited a haircut that fit my style and personality much better than I could have described or imagined. I loved her vision, skillful technique, and easy conversation. This is more than I hoped for. Alex is exceptional. My hair feels healthy, bouncy, and alive--it's definitely the best haircut I've ever had. Thank you!! read more

This is a super cute, clean and forward thinking salon in the downtown area with street parking right outside that makes it super easy to park and get right in! If you aren't familiar with downtown - don't let it stop you because these artists get it and want to take care of you and your hair - it's worth the trip! They are pioneering good for you hair care and treatments and the salon doesn't smell of toxic fumes b/c they are using responsible organic, less toxic products. I saw Meredith who is just a darling and very professional. She did bayalage and organic color and it was amazing!!! I was so impressed with her cutting edge awareness even at her young age :) She is wise beyond her years - she will listen, consult and deliver on your expectations! I highly recommend her. The pricing is what you would expect just about anywhere but nothing too crazy like some salons. I have a lot of hair and needed a lot of highlights so my first trip was more costly than what it will be ongoing. read more

Alejandra is absolutely amazing. I have been searching high and low for over a decade for someone who can cut curly hair. She is truly a master!! I will warn she is pricey, but worth every penny and more. The salon is also an art gallery and does five dollar yoga on the weekends. Support local business and go see Alejandra! read more

I love everything about abloom salon. There's truly no where else like this place! From the salon atmosphere to the stylists, every single time I have gone here I've left not only feeling beautiful but rejuvenated and refreshed both physically and mentally. I have been going to Meredith for two years now, and I truly could not imagine my life or hair without her! I have gone to many hair stylists in the past and there is no one like her. Meredith not only creates the most beautiful hair colors, but she really understands you, your lifestyle, and your hair in order to create the perfect look that compliments you personally and that works with your life. I would follow her around the world because my hair, mind, soul, and heart are all in better places since I've started seeing her. She is the hardest working, most humble, kind, and beautiful person who goes above and beyond to satisfy her clients and the experience is truly unmatched! read more

It's my pleasure to write this review for Sonja Sartorius. I had a reverse ombre color done with Sonja, wow! What an amazing stylist! First of all, I have very sensitive skin, and I can't use most hair dye products without a very serious and painful reaction. Sonja had the perfect product on hand, and nailed it. The color was perfect, the style was perfect and she perfectly "dusted" my hair so i didn't lose any real length but got rid of all of my split ends and undesirable strangler hairs. Sonja is very personable and cute and the 1 1/2 hours went by like a breeze. For me getting my hair done is 90% the job done and 10% the stylists personality. I feel like I made out with 120% of my expectations met. Not only was the Color, cut and style perfect, but Sonja was fun to spend the time with. If you are looking for an awesome new stylist give her a call. You will not be disappointed. I've already referred all of my family and friends. Great job! read more

Horrible costumer service. My friend and I went for a haircut. Since it was our first time at this place, we were expecting a more welcoming environment. First, the receptionist just asked if it was our first time at the Salon, we said yes, nothing else happened. Then they proceed to get our hair cut, as a painful task. At the end, my friend got a hair styling product, and I asked for the same one, the receptionist looked at me as if I was asking for some surreal product, then proceed to bill me. All in a "burden mode" that I felt I was asking for a favor or out of charity. At the end, the owner saw us, with a fake smile, then proceed to her conversation. read more

I received a GREAT first time haircut from Alex. She spent a lot of time listening to what I wanted and when I faltered a little on getting bangs she encouraged me not to which I am super happy about. They always grow out too quick. She also spent quite a bit of time cutting my hair and she was very pleasant to talk to. But definitely I was most impressed by the haircut. It is the kind of cut that is just air dry and go and it always looks great which is right up my alley. read more
