Tried a n ew salon and hairdresser and it was a mistake. I read the reviews- all good. I went in and saw a lot of people having great experiences. So I almost feel bad writing this. But I had a terrible experience and left very upset. I made it clear to my hairdresser that I have been slowing working on lightening my hair for almost a year now. It is long so it is taking a while. I told her I had no desire to do darker because it shows my grays more. I even told her the number color I wanted to use. She kept walking around- back and forth with color swatches. Then she asked the owner what color he thought. I said darker so it was all one color (not knowing I have been working on lightening it). She asked me again- what was my goal. I said I don't want black hair. It will make my grays stand out. I walked out with black hair. Hopefully if you go here, you get someone who listens to you. Following up on my review I left regarding Matthew about a month ago. He refused to color my bleach blond hair stating I had no choice but to let it grow out and cut it as it grows. Stated my hair would break off if colored. I have since been referred to a wonderful hair stylist with expert coloring experience who took my hair from blond to chocolate brown within two months. If feels healthy and looks great!! The color faded some after the first time which is to be expected. After my last follow up the brown is holding really well. read more

Ugh, all the other reviews praise her but Sherri never asked for a reference picture but sure I asked for 4 inches off because of my split ends. she over cut my hair drastically. Again 4 inches. My best guess would be she literally cut my hair 7 OR MORE OFF!!! I never cried so hard. I asked for my hair to be at or literally be above my shoulders but not past my jawline multiple times and 4 inches. This is what you get! I waited over a week to post this because of how upset I am. Yes, now I have to wait an extremely long time for my hair to even grow out to how I wanted it to be cut in the first place. The hair cut was suppose to be 65 but she cut it to 30 dollars. Now that I think about it I should've paid nothing. She randomly started snipping at my hair so I have very long random strands of hair everywhere. I didn't ask for layers but now I have them :(. I just moved here from Florida and this is already a bad start but I'll attach a older photo of when I previously got my hair cut that it should've been like. This is a very small salon, and does feel more of a roots type of place. It is not your cookie cutter salon. I initially loved my hair after the first few appointments I had. I just had my hair colored and cut and it was amazingly affordable. However, I had to cut one session short because of an event I had to attend. I was getting an extensive color service done, so it is essentially my fault for not allowing my stylist enough time. However, this service was close to $230, which was more than double what I had been paying before. I returned one more time, this time for highlights and a cut and it was still $250 after a tip. I think my stylist was possibly charging me excessively because he was mad at me for the previous event. He did a good job for the most part. Howecer, he did critique my hair saying the previous stylist did not do an even job. I flat out told him that HE was the previous stylist. Lol. I was referred to this salon by a co-worker. The website looks amazing- you feel they all are well experienced especially with hair coloring. I scheduled my appointment with Matthew. I had previously had my hair bleached by another salon and am suffering from over processed hair. I was hoping for a good experience. Matthew was all over the place. Initially he stated my color correction would be very expensive. I let him know I was open to whatever he could do to help me. He brought out hair swatches but kept switching between possibly coloring my hair and then saying he could not. He then did a clarifying shampoo and deep conditioner and then stated he would not touch my hair with color and suggested I get a good trim. He stated he could not wet cut it and proceeded to attempt to dry my hair and then stated my hair was so bad he could not even cut it. He then changed his mind and started cutting my hair but had stop and get advice on how to cut it from a very kind stylist who guided him through my cut. I asked him if anything could be done about my gray roots once they grow out a bit more and he said there is absolutely nothing to do about my hair other than to let the bleached hair grow out and cut it as it is growing. He complained the entire time and was very negative. He stated I needed several products to use to help my hair feel better but then when I asked him to sell me the products he refused except for an 11.00 weekly conditioner. I asked him if I should come back for a trim kind of hoping he would still offer some help and he refused to schedule a follow up. The entire time I was trying my best not to cry and agree with any and all suggestions. He made feel so bad about myself that I went home and had a meltdown!! Matthew has a very bad attitude. The best part is that she takes her time and makes sure she is giving you the cut and style YOU want - but she also makes great suggestions on what would work for your hair as well. Right when you walk in to The Office, you're hit with this awesome, retro vibe that's both relaxed and tasteful. The very walls ooze creativity and style, without an ounce of pretentiousness. This is simply a place where really talented, cool people give great haircuts. Jaime's my girl. I'm one of those typical American white guys who can easily look like an overweight marine with the wrong cut. And even the best cuts seem to leave me looking, well, like a boring typical American white guy. But whenever I walk into The Office, Jaime always has a new, fresh vision for how to cut my hair. It always sounds a little outside my comfort zone at first, but always ends up looking sharp and tasteful and classy and, well, cool. Not marine-like at all. I have been getting my hair done by the owner, Kevin, for the last 7 years. He is the only person who I completely trust to cut my hair. I model with The Agency Arizona, so I often get my hair styled by other professional hairstylists, and I can't even tally up the amount of compliments I get from them about my hair. I have been thinking of growing it a bit longer so I am in between styles. Every time I show up looking like an ugly ducking, and she sends me off as a swan. Perfect shape to my short haircut, and she did a color correction for me that was much needed. The thing I love best??? Sherri teaches me how to blow dry and style the cut correctly so I always look like I just left the salon. Omg Sherri! Just had my first haircut with Sherri at the office salon and it was the best experience I've had with getting my hair cut. I've been wanting get my hair cut shorter for a while but found a lot of hair stylists aren't comfortable cutting short hair. Sherri and I spent 10 minutes just discussing what i was looking for, face shapes, and pinterest photos. Her knowledge on cutting hair short gave me so much confidence that no matter what we decided, it would look great. I have hopped around to different salons all over the Phoenix/ Scottsdale area and I finally feel like I have found a place that I am going to make my one and only hair salon.
