Since moving to Atlanta in May, this is the second salon I've tried... This review is for Tran. He was amazing! Moving from California, it's been really hard to find a stylist who's both versed in balayage, and that lived in hair look. Most stylists in Atlanta seem to favor more precision cuts and that's not what I've found works for me. Not only does Tran KNOW COLOR but he understands hair and its movement. The cut was amazing, and the color had faded so nicely, I don't feel like I have to rush back in to get it done 4 weeks later (even though I'd be willing to go sooner just to hang out with a fellow foodie;) Will definitely continue to go to Tran. read more

I came into Salon Next looking for a new style - both a color update and a new cut. Even though it was my first time in the salon, Tucker did an AMAZING job. I absolutely love my new look. When I came in, my color was a mess... I had gone from my natural dark blonde to platinum and back again, but not with good results. Tucker succeeded in taking me back to a lovely version of my original color. I also moved ahead with getting heavy bangs cut into my shoulder length hair - something that I'd considered for years but hadn't had the guts to do. Again, Tucker achieved exactly the look I was seeking. Thanks to Tucker, I came out of Salon Next feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I'm very happy with both the experience and with my new chic look. UPDATE: I returned about 8-9 months later to find that the stylist who cut my hair the first time has left. The woman who cut my hair did a good job, though it wasn't as fun of an experience simply due to the personality difference of the stylists. I'm sure I'll return even though I had to switch stylists. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This place is a GREAT find. I highly recommend it. I tend to dread getting my hair cut. Most places aren't very friendly, or far too expensive, or generally awkward as you sit for an hour desperate for things to talk about as they cut your hair. It is not an experience I look forward to (hence my one-haircut-a-year philosophy). Salon Next was unlike any other salon I've gone to before. I'm definitely going to return because: 1. As others have mentioned, the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Awkward moments are not part of their vocabulary. 2. I went in without any idea what to do with my hair past a trim, and walked out with the perfect haircut. No pressure, just great suggestions and knowledge of what will work with your hair type. Thanks, Barak! 3. It is actually less expensive than my old place in Buckhead. I was worried it would be pricier after reading the reviews, but it was less... and overall much better. Lovely salon! I called the day before and got an appointment after talking to the receptionist and asking her a multitude of questions. The decor is nice and there are plenty of chairs and mirrors. They use Bumble & Bumble products, which leave your hair shiny and smelling nice! I had Michael, who is super kind and styled my hair just like I asked him too! So a friend recommended me here which is why I wasn't going to leave a bad review, but honestly, y'all need to be warned about this place. Tran completely wreckeeeedddd my hair. I booked this appointment a week in advance and showed up and had to wait almost thirty minutes to be seated. Then once I was seated it was clear I wasn't a priority because he was running back and forth to other customers the ENTIRE time. I understand a busy salon but there's a reason people don't double book. Once he sat me under the blow dryer and forgot about me two times I knew it was a bad idea. Then he proceeded to tone my entire head of hair when I had just asked for highlights, giving me weird brassy and green patches everywhere that I didn't even fully notice until I got home. He also didn't even trim my hair after bleaching it even though I requested it at the beginning of the initial appointment. By then I was just ready to get out of there but the girl with dreadlocks at the register didn't seem to know how to count money and ended up making me recount it in front of her and give her back money. If this was done on my credit card I would've just disputed it but sadly I paid in cash. Y'all be warned. They may have been in ONE magazine in the early 2000s but the staff is uneducated, unprofessional and just straight up unpleasant. UPDATE: They sent me a $25 voucher to the salon if I deleted my post. The original transaction was almost $200. My family and I have been coming to this salon for many years now. I really enjoy coming to this great and original place. the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, talented, and creative. the salon itself has a modern feel that is both relaxing and energizing at the same time. Even though the rates have slowly crept up over these past few years I have gone, I still feel that every penny is worth it. I have highly recommended Salon Next previously to people, and people always enjoy their experience. If you are looking for a new salon, definitely consider this place on Colier Road! read more

Barak is the MAN! He is the first person in ALL MY SALON HISTORY to actually give me not only the perfect hair cut but to make my hair feel silky, soft, amazing. Everyone in the shop is easy to talk to, with smiles and great service. The shop is bright and clean and welcoming. Granted, it's a little pricey but WELL WORTH IT. After 2 years of living in Atlanta I finally found a good salon that wasn't crazy over priced! I use to wait until I went back home to Florida but I don't have to anymore. Allison is the perfect stylist. She is kind and a great listener. If you're looking for some guidance, she will do an expert job of picking a look for you that will make you feel refreshed and beautiful. She was quick and I didn't leave the salon with a bunch of new products I didnt need. I love my color and will be back to see her soon. read more

I absolutely LOVE Salon Next. I found this salon by chance when I moved to Atlanta a year ago, and now I will not go anywhere else to get my hair done. This is a true treat for the salon buff. Expect a nice long head massage and conditioning treatment with your hair cut.... amazing. I had the owner, Tucker, cut my hair... and let me tell you, she is just awesome. Aside from being extremely friendly and easy to talk to throughout your cut, she also really knows exactly what she's doing. She'll show you how to style your hair after its cut so that you will know how to maintain your new do, and if you request a certain haircut, she'll talk you through what it will look like and what variation of that cut will go best with your face shape. I could not be happier with haircuts there and always leave the salon feeling confident and really great about my hair. I have had my share of horrible haircuts from other salons in the past... now that I've found somewhere awesome, I'll be staying there for as long as I live in Atlanta. Side note: If you do have Tucker as your stylist, she is the most expensive of the bunch, but she does not accept tips. I think her expertise is definitely worth the extra money!!! read more

Although Jill, my Stylist did a good job and I was very pleased with her service, the Management was not good. I had purchased a $100 certificate at a charity auction. It had recently expired since I had misplaced it. I called and was told that there was no problem to honor the certificate. I got a haircut from Jill and was very pleased with her work. However, the Management (Ann) told me that I would not have the remaining credit to use another time, it would not carry over. I explained to her that I was told differently when I called. After 'back and forth', she said I could use the remainder, but only within ONE WEEK. I could not get an appointment convenient for me to come in for another service that I really didn't need so soon after my haircut....so, I had to take off work in order to do that. Also, I was quoted one price for the next service, then another price when I was getting ready to pay. Ann lowered the price to be the correct price. Today, several weeks after my service, I received a call from Brittany asking me if I wanted to set another appointment. I told her that I received such poor customer experience while I was there, that I would not be coming back. She responded, "Sorry about that" and Thank you". INSTEAD of asking more about it to hopefully IMPROVE the customer service. Don't they even care about keeping their customers?. read more
