He's not only great at the BBs but also very friendly. He did not upcharge me for my hair. I bought the BB shampoo and conditioner and waited 3 days to wash. my hair. I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian blowout and cut for $100. I'm a grad student and turning 30 and wanted to treat myself. I called and spoke with Eric, who seemed very flustered when scheduling the appointment. He shared that he usually didn't do this but the girl who did wasn't available. He shared that he was super booked but could pencil me in for 9 on Tuesday. I pencilled the appointment in my calendar for 9pm on Tuesday and went about my life. There was no confirmation call or email. The day of the appointment came and Eric called me at 9:05am asking if I was on my way. It turns out that we had had a misunderstanding about whether the appointment was in the morning or evening. I certainly think I should have clarified but I also think the salon should have disclosed. Everyone is living incredibly hectic and busy lives and if this is your business why wouldn't you provide your clients with the information they need to successfully access the services they paid for. Why not have an appointment confirmation system or simply call clients before their appointment to confirm? Why not have the person who is experienced with booking appointments do their job? And finally, why not acknowledge the miscommunication and allow your client to reschedule without charging them another $100? Honestly, we are all living through one of the most horrific times in a century. I was so disappointed with the lack of compassion and accountability from Eric. I'm sure he's a great hairdresser. Just wish he had been more professional, and honestly, more compassionate. Anyways, you can probably find a better hair salon with better customer service. read more

I went to Eric over two years ago with a Brazilian blowout Groupon. He was wonderful, charismatic and did a beautiful job with my hair. I bought products, tipped well and was a good customer. After thinking about this review for a day and now revising it I realize my issue is not with Eric. My negative comments is regarding it is the way the owner treats customers during your appointment. She is terse, loud, abrasive and out right rude.I would leave stressed out and wondering if she was just rude when I was there or all the time. After many visits I realized it is not personal this is how she runs her salon. The only negative thing I can say about Eric is I wish he would have passed this feedback on for the sake of his loyal customers. He appears to just shrug away her rudeness and allows her to continue to make your experience there very negative. I guess she's the owner and she likes to do it her way. I have never experienced this negative vibe at any past salon.I have always always felt like it was a treat to something good for myself and my hair while I knew I was paying good money to do so. I know this issue has come up with her before but she continues.....and so it goes..... Ask for Eric! Best haircut EVER! He first began by assessing my original color, cut, damage, etc. and gave me his opinion on what we should do now or in the future. I had come in for the Brazilian Blowout and decided to get a little snip to rid myself of the split ends. Having the same haircut for years, Eric gave me a fresh, new look after listening to my concerns. The outcome was a sleek, frizz free 'do along with a hot cut! WOW what a difference! Love it!! Eric is an absolute perfectionist so you can be sure that you'll get the unique look you're going for. Just make sure to listen to his ideas! So happy I did. P.S- that the bus in. Came in with a living social for a spa mani-pedi. Bridget did both my nails and toe nails and she was so sweet. I wish I could give this place a better review because all of the staff was so amazing, however the decor and quality of the mani/pedi just wasn't great. Also, the "sterilizer" they used for their nail products had other people's nail clippings floating around. Decor: this place has not been updated since the 70's and you literally get your pedicure in a closet while sitting in an office chair. They don't have a foot spa but more a bin of water. Very cramped and a bit awkward to sit in. The whole place is literally a flash back to the 70's and in need of some SERIOUS renovations. They also don't have nail dryers which is a bit strange. Service: Bridget was extremely nice. She listened and was easy to talk to. She took time to massage me and make sure everything was relaxing. The actual painting and shaping of the nails (which is really the part that matters) was pretty bad. Paint all over my cuticles and the first coat didn't quite go to the end of my nail. You can also see the second coat because it wasn't evenly applied. The nails were shaped round when I specifically asked for square. Long story short- super nice staff, but not the best technique. read more

Terrible merchant, for god's sake, DON'T GO! I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian blowout and tried to book an appt, they asked me for my redemption number. However, the day before my appt I called to check my appt with them and they told me I'm not on record because I never told them my redemption number. Thus I called Groupon customer service to refund me, but that conversation was terminated in the middle somehow so I never knew if they gonna refund me or not. Later that day the merchant called me saying sorry and they made a mistake on my appt and asked me if I still wanna come, I said yes. However, Groupon refunded me later that night, so next morning I called the merchant to cancel my appt, and they are EXTREMELY RUDE!! "This is BULLSHIT! You can't call us 5 hours before your appt to cancel it". Honestly, they have great groupon deal but a TERRIBLE booking system and courtesy. Save yourself money, you don't need to put up with this attitude. DON'T GO! read more

Eric may do a good brazilian blowout, but between the sass which borders on verbal abuse and unprofessional behavior (starting appointments 45+ minutes late, not sticking to agreed upon rates and charges, and absolutely foul cigarette smell clinging to his clothing,) it pays to go ELSEWHERE for this service. I have had my share of terrible experiences with North End salons. One left me with skunk like highlights while another made me incredibly uncomfortable. I found Salon Mirabella through Groupon and I will MOST DEFINITELY be back. A previous review commented on the decor and honestly, I don't care much about the decor. What matters is good service. Bridget did my eyebrow wax [a last minute request] and she did an amazing job! My eyebrows look amazing and she listened to my requests. She was friendly and I have certainly found my new go-to waxing spot. Eric was fantastic. He examined my [badly colored and very damaged hair] from root to end. He knew what was done to my hair before I even told him all of my ridiculous hair stories. He sat down and listened to what it was that I wanted, and outlined a plan with me before starting anything. This put me at ease immediately. Eric was kind and genuinely friendly the entire time. He wasn't talking to me just to "pretend" to be interested. I was never awkwardly uncomfortable as I have been at other North End salons. My color [a blend of two colors] is absolutely gorgeous. It is exactly what I wanted/needed. My cut is also fantastic as Eric sectioned and cut my hair with amazing precision. His meticulous nature really shines through in his work. Gina handled my blow dry and she was wonderful! Ask for Eric and his assistant. They are both amazing. His assistant did my blowout and Eric did a cut. My Brazilian blowout was exactly what I signed up for. Two weeks later and my hair is drying completely frizz free and straight in about 3 minutes with a hair dryer and 30 minutes without. If you're doing the Groupon, just make sure you confirm the price with them when you make the appointment. They even offered me $25 off my next treatment if I referred a friend - which I did right away. Overall: great! A little hard to find, but a great location when you do! Granted, I have longer, thicker hair, so I'm used to paying extra sometimes for color. However, I bought the Groupon for single process color, cut, and blow dry. Thanks to Yelp, I knew I could only go Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which I was totally fine with (I understand that Groupon comes with limits!) When I finally found it, I was told the color was only roots and was extra to pull the color all the way through (though that's not what a single process color is) and I didn't ask the price. I guess I assumed it would be $20-$30 per other places. BUT I was charged an EXTRA $65 at the salon, so with the Groupon price + the $65, I ended paying more than or equal to a full price cut + color. My hair looked AWESOME and beautiful and Gina did a beautiful job with my cut and color, but I was super disappointed by the extra charge, especially as a student who buys Groupons for a reason! read more

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was gifted a groupon for this salon for a 'color package' and had called multiple times to schedule an appointment, each time they did not have any availability that worked with my schedule. They said the salon had nothing to do with the groupon and it was a separate crew of stylists that came it to take care of that. When I called again and explained that my groupon was expiring soon, the receptionist was EXTREMELY rude and said, "well why did you wait so long?!" When I explained it was a gift, she said "well, why did THEY wait so long?!" Excuse me, but I've been in customer service for years, and you do not gain clients by being a rude person and insulting a person. All it would have taken was a "Oh I'm sorry, that's so soon let me see how we might be able to fit you in." At least try to make it seem like you are trying at your job. I love my current salon and stylist, and I am a loyal customer, and I tip well, at a minimum 20%. And I was willing to try another place because of this gift and it is located near my work. I can guarantee you that I will never step foot in this salon because of this exchange, and I'm happy to continue to my REAL salon, where they know exactly what they are doing, and know how to handle a customer that wants a service. read more

I purchased a Groupon for Salon Mirabella last month for a partial highlight and cut and I will never return and urge you not to set foot in this business. My highlight and cut took 4.5 hours. I have never had a service take more than 90 mins since I do not have a lot of hair. After all was said and done I ended up with stripey highlights that didn't even begin to cover my roots not to mention awful streaks on the side of my head ranging from white blonde to brassy orange. I politely contacted the business saying I was unhappy and mentioned I would be satisfied with only a partial amount of the money returned to me. I never received the money so I contacted them to which they replied with more questions about my hair and changed their minds and refused to refund me. I would have never written this review if I was reimbursed but it has been over a month and I still have nothing.
