Me time is very important. So right after my haircut, I then made an appointment for a manicure & pedicure. Walking up and down Seaport Drive, I would always see this really cute nail salon and always wondered how nice it would be to just try them out one day. A well established business can be reflective on the way their restroom looks and also how clean it is. Winter's in Boston is freezing cold, one of the coldest temperatures I've ever been in, and I really needed to use the restroom before starting my hands and feet. But back to the services, it was excellent! Exceptionally clean facilities, well decorated shop, prices are reasonable too. As usual, the pedicure was done first, followed by the manicure. It seems that there is a nice flow of customers/clients who frequent the shop. There are more services available than nails. They also do brows and lashes. Besides walking out with clean hands and feet, you're always treated with a light hand and foot massage. I'll be sure to come back again in the future! read more

I made an appointment for myself and my three friends. for my bachelorette "party" my services were supposed to be gel manicure and pedicure. When I got there 10 minutes before the appointment time.. They confirmed what I was getting and asked what I had on my nails now I said dip.. You would have thought that was a foreign topic. From what I could tell they just couldnt figure out the timing due to me needing my nail polish removed. After about 25 minutes I made the decision to just get a pedicure because they still hadnt come up with a solution. When I got over to the station the water was cold.. and my friend had the same issue.. that was fixed but the after about 5 minutes the water was cold again. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After we were done and were checking out they asked if we wanted to pay together or separate, I said whatever is easier and they said it was up to us so we pick separate. Worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon! The "ultimate" pedicure lasted 20 minutes (advertised as 50 minutes) and I was squished in between two other customers between their bags and shoes it was like being in the middle seat on an airplane. At first sight this looks like a super aesthetic nail salon, but the quality of the nails are quite poor. It seems super new with inexperienced nail techs and front desk managers. The first woman I had didn't know how to do French tip and had to get someone else to come in and cover. The tips ended up looking super uneven and she ended up cutting the nails much shorter than I wanted. After tip this was $80 bucks for was worse than average nails (only manicure too!!). They unfortunately are the only nail salon in the edge of seaport but try and go elsewhere if you're not in a pinch. read more

Unfortunately for us residents of Seaport, this is the only nail salon in town. It is very over-priced, and I find the customer service to be off-putting. I had tried to book an appointment a few times before, but was so annoyed with the front desk and how they treated me that I ended up cancelling the appointments. I finally made an appointment last week, because my normal nail salon was closed and this one is just SO convenient I wanted to give it an actual shot. Thanks to traffic I was 5 minutes late (I was unable to call and let them know because the answering service tells you to either text them, or leave a voicemail; I did try to give a courtesy call though). Once I arrived I was informed by the front desk in a rude tone that "because you're late, you now won't be able to get the foot massage you wanted with the pedicure". Ok fine, understandable, was no need to jump down my throat about it. Really can't believe how condescending and rude the front desk is (third time I've experienced this here). SO many other people would love that job and would actually make customers feel welcome. Based on previous reviews, this has been an ongoing situation. Interesting side note: once my pedicure was complete, THEN my nails were wrapped (to take the gel off), so I sat there for an extra 15 minutes. If they wrapped my nails when I first got there (before my pedicure), like every other nail salon does, I would've had the extra 10 minutes for the massage (that I was willing to pay extra for). The manicures and pedicures are expensive, and come with the very BASICS. Oh you want your cuticles cut? Extra. Oh you want a massage? Extra. Oh you want your calluses removed? Extra. It's a bit ridiculous. They have a VERY small collection of gel polish because they really try to push their own supreme nail polish on you. Not worth the price at all. Or the difficulty of booking an appointment (the online app makes it "technically" easy, however finding an opening proves to be difficult; and Heaven forbid if you try to get an actual person on the phone). Don't even think about trying to walk in, they are NOT welcome and the front desk will make that clear. Was not impressed and don't plan on ever returning. read more

In town for a conference and broke a nail day 2. Easy online booking, other reviews made me nervous about being late so gave myself a lot of extra time to get there. Got a gel manicure. Wasn't clear if I could add chrome or not, and if so, how much, etc.. My tech did a decent job and persuaded me to keep my nails a little long, long enough to still have nails but short enough that the broken one wasn't as glaringly obvious. Great experience! I went here for a spa mani/pedi with the bridal party for a friends wedding. It's a cute and stylish nail salon. The selection for colors was decent, and they have their own line of polish that they use. Check-in was very simple and I was immediately seated for my pedicure. I really enjoyed the lemon scrub that they used during the pedicure and the woman I had paid especially close attention to detail. After my pedicure was over so escorted me to the tables for my manicure. This seemed a little less luxurious than the pedicure, but I still enjoyed it. read more

Ashley was snobby and fake customer service at the front. when i booked no where during the booking exp mentioned that they didn't work with dip. it is buried deep in their policy section that most people don't think to read when booking a regular mani pedi with friend. I went here for the first time on Wednesday. I had always hesitated because it seemed a little overpriced, but it was so conveniently located that I figured I'd give it a go. They are a clean nail salon, and have reduced number of toxins etc. in their polish. I was able to book online and saw the menu of prices and services, which I was great. I got a signature mani in a dark navy blue (pea coat), and a silvery color (whose name I forget). The staff was friendly and attentive. I was able to pay and tip with card, which is nice because I never have enough cash on me. Two days later, I had a chip on my two of my nails. I was able to come in, and they redid those nails for free. It depends on what type of polish you get (signature, performance, or gel), they have different chipping warranties. The signature polish I got had a 3-day warranty, which was great! read more

So far, they've lasted through a day of snowboarding and have another to go before I start a new job on Monday (which was the original reason for the manicure...). The salon is super clean, the staff very friendly, the color choices plentiful, and the price reasonable. This is my 3rd time across the span of a couple months. Living in seaport I go for convenience when I'm in a crunch.. I've never been impressed let alone satisfied with the final product, especially considering the price point. Everything you get in a normal pedicure you pay for extra. The normal nail polish chips and peels off so you have to pay for their "performance polish" which is normal nail polish anywhere else at a higher price. Unlike previous times the staff wasn't rude, but I did have to wait 15 minutes for my appointment. read more

I have been going MiniLuxe for my Mani Pedi for many years. I was a loyal customer and have been bringing my friends here too. What I like about miniluxe is that they do a great job keeping the place clean thanks to the person create the cleaning SOP. However, their customer service is getting worse to a point I need to say goodbye and find a new place. Last time I was late for 10 mins (it's impossible to park that day), they just canceled my appointment without any notice. It is frustrating because I really need manicure that day for an event and spent $20 parking and was told appointment was canceled when I arrived at the studio. And they still tried to charge me for the canceled appointment (this is apparently on their policy) but again I have been going there for years and they don't make efforts to keep their customer happy. I have found another place in Boston that charges less and more flexible. read more

Service was fine, nothing super noteworthy but the quality of their polish is atrocious. I dried my regular mani and pedi a minimum of 20 min under the nail dryer only for the polish to fully lift upon gently swiping to check whether a nail was dry. This occured before even leaving the salon. I considered the service a sunkcost at that point and did not feel the need to further waste my time at this establishment complaining. While having dinner 2 hours later, my thumb nail smudged when I accidentally banged it on my glass of water. When I got home and took off my (very, comfortable, flat) shoes, my toes were smudged. For $125 and (maybe) a reputable brand, I would expect much better quality polish. Save your money, go to a locally owned business or do your nails yourself with literally any other polish on the market. read more

I've been to a few Boston MiniLuxe locations and decided to give the Seaport location a try. I chose a quiet Sunday morning partially because I dislike the cramped and rushed feeling some of the other locations can have. Received a manicure with MiniLuxe brand polish (I believe the shade was Southern Belle.) The Seaport salon is clean, beautiful and very well decorated. My manicurist was pleasant and professional, but I couldn't help but feel rushed throughout the appointment. One of the problems I usually have post Miniluxe mani is flooded cuticles and raised polish - tried to avoid by being an earlier booking on a quiet day. Too bad - I really liked everything else about the experience except that the polish was hurried (as always). I'm not sure if the raised effect is from not enough dry time between coats or from too much Seche Vite - this is exactly what happens to me when I DIY my manicure. However, was expecting the meat of the matter to be better than the decor. The MiniLuxe polishes are a good range, however I would like to see the Seaport location offer the Designer polishes the other locations have: I was informed by the receptionist that they carry only gel and on-brand polish. Be sure to double check your confirmation if you book through the app; I had to call the salon post-booking because the app reassigned me to a random slot three hours later than requested. . read more

Walked in, no appointment, visiting from out of town. No warmth. Not helpful. I Only wanted gel manicure. Instead of trying to see how she could be helpful, front desk person (who had to be called from the back), says she has time to take off gel. No time to apply gel. Tried to dissuade me from service (it's 10:40 now and I can't help you until 11:15am). That was fine, not from Boston so waiting isn't a problem for everyone in the world. Maybe a better approach is, "let me see how best I can help you. Would you mind waiting?" Good help is hard to find. If you aren't a local, don't bother with this one. I journeyed nearby (there are many nail salons) and got I service with pleasant demeanor. It's not hard to be kind people. You just have to want to be a gentle person. I was traveling on business and did a gel manicure here. After I left here, I thought I had the best gel manicure of my life. It looked perfect - but 3 days later, polish on one nail came completely off. I went to my nail salon by home and had that one nail redone. 2 days later, every nail had a chip or was peeling. Although the service was wonderful, the polish just doesn't hold up. I do gel manicures every 2-2.5 weeks and have never had a chip before 2 weeks. After my last review the manager called me and proactively refunded my mani/pedi. As someone that's in customer service I appreciate going the extra mile when they could have written the review off. I booked another performance polish manicure because I really like the dazzle dry. It chipped after 10 days, but it's a great break from gel. Also, they are three blocks from my apartment. The manicure this time was great. Amy was diligent and did a great job. My only gripe is that why no pearly colors for the dazzle dry?! To top things off in checking out the manager remembered my name and made sure the refund went through but asked to make sure that this time was satisfactory. It was such a small touch but again, went a long way. read more
