Update: MiniLuxe reached out to me and refunded my GelX and offered to redo it for free. I appreciate the customer service & standing behind the quality of their manicures! Have not gotten my nails redone yet but will update further when I do. Usually I don't write bad reviews but I would have appreciated seeing this before I spent my money here. I don't recommend MiniLuxe for Gel X. They're way more expensive than other salons in the area and my expensive manicure lasted less than 2 weeks before nails started to completely come off. I've had Gel X from other salons for significantly lower prices and they've always lasted about a month even under harsh conditions. MiniLuxe will only fix your nails for free if you have a problem within one week...which doesn't make sense when this type of manicure is supposed to last 3+ weeks. Thought I'd be treating myself to a superior service by coming here but unfortunately it was just a waste of money :( read more

I've had positive experiences at Miniluxe before, but I went last weekend and my $70 manicure lasted all of 12 hours before two nails came completely off. I texted them because they have a five day chip free guarantee, which is amazing, but they offered me a slot and after I said yes booked someone else in that slot and stopped responding to my texts. It was super frustrating and would have been better if they didn't pretend to have a guarantee. I'm super disappointed and won't be returning. read more

Like many, I get my nails done every now and then for a treat to destress. When I was asked to move my appointment an hour later today I was fine with it. I got to the salon and they had charged my card and said I missed my appointment. After I showed them the email request to come an hour later, they said they couldn't fit me in until 45 minutes later. I was fortunate enough to receive a complimentary manicure refresh in conjunction with a private event that was held last week. The MiniLuxe was gracious enough to provide a polish change despite my not having been to their location previously, and the job was so well done that it looked like a new mani. The only thing I would recommend is to definitely try to avoid using drying drops; in my experience it does something to raise the polish from the nail's surface and it leaves an odd, drying residue on cuticles. It can be removed pretty easily with cuticle oil. My manicurist was quick but attentive, even though the location was packed with event attendees! Fantastic location & service. read more

Ashley at the front of the seaport location is extremely rude. do not book here. i booked nails for 3 friends, and becabuse my friend had dip nails they wouldn't do her nails and charged me half. Ashley was snobby and fake customer service at the front. when i booked no where during the booking exp mentioned that they didn't work with dip. it is buried deep in their policy section that most people don't think to read when booking a regular mani pedi with friend. I have been going to the MiniLuxe on Tremont in Boston since at least 2019. My podiatrist had recommended MiniLuxe for pedicures because of their cleanliness and hygiene. My nail tech is Nam and she is a very good at her craft. She pays attention to any flaw in my nails and applies polish flawlessly. And as a bonus, she's very funny and always has some story to share. I brought my own performance nail polish to the nail salon and got charged for "Performance Nail Manicure" service instead of the signature manicure. The front desk person said I was using their Performance Nail Manicure service even though I brought in my own polish. What is the point of bringing in your own polish? Also there is no difference between the signature manicure service versus the performance nail manicure service, I've experienced both many times. The only difference is the nail polish (which I brought MY OWN)! I'm a regular here and had always brought my own performance nail polish and get charged for the signature manicure. The front desk lady said this has always been the case. No, it has not. Would not come back here again cause of this experience. There are many other nail salons with the same cleanliness but cheaper. Side note: I always had a wonderful time with the manicurists. They were always friendly and does a good job. The BEST gel manicures ever. The manicurists are consistently amazing, and their gel manicures last a month or longer. Knocked a star off because the music is horrible, loud, and not relaxing. This is ironic, because I was once YELLED AT by a male manager for answering my phone while getting a manicure. He literally ran over to me to tell me to get off the phone, startling me. It was my doctor calling about an urgent matter, and it took me days to get in touch with her thereafter. Meanwhile, two women getting manicures next to me were talking very loudly about inappropriate topics (actually entertaining, but come on my phone call was not disruptive!). There are much more polite and nuanced ways to reinforce a no cell phone policy. I did not see one sign stating this policy ever. read more

I have been to MiniLuxe a handful of times, primarily to their South End location (which has been the best!), but also to Fenway. I first heard about them from a colleague, who has gotten q2week Performance Polish manicures for years. The Dazzle Dry technology has been a game changer for me! I love the look and feel of gel, but it tends to ruin my nail beds. The Performance Polish manicure gives you almost the same durability, and will last me 2-3 weeks (really limited by nail bed growth but does start to chip towards the end), and comes off with acetone. I am pretty hard on my nails and don't wear the gloves doing dishes, etc., so previously basic manicures would barely last me more than a few days. I could probably shop around to find a cheaper price for the Dazzle Dry manicures (it runs $38 pre-tip), but I feel less guilty supporting a place that claims to pay its employees a living wage and benefits, which I don't think is typical for all nail salons. Their manager Michael has been very helpful in addressing any concerns or rescheduling needs. They do tend to run their appointments pretty accurately, so I would recommend sticking to your time, and booking in advance. Certainly can be worth trying to walk-in, but I see a decent number of people turned away because they tend to be fairly busy. The studios have a clean, well-lit aesthetic, play poppy music, and are situated in great pedestrian areas for people watching. I know quite a few of my friends (both male & female) frequent MiniLuxe, and I would recommend it if it is in your price range! read more

I'm pregnant and just had a lovely premium pedicure with deluxe polish with Tee. I was a walk-in (Tuesday afternoon) and they accommodated me right away. Of the Miniluxe salons I've been to in Boston, this is definitely the nicest and most spacious. I really like Miniluxe and would go more regularly if weren't for the price. The quality is consistently good (unlike most salons I've been to). I've had a few different people do my nails and have not seen a difference in quality. I can only speak to their manicures, but their normal polish line seems to last a long time. I'm not sure if that deals with the quality of people, or then nail polish itself (they carry their own brand). The only downside is the price- it is much more expensive than other places around. You're paying for- consistent quality, clean and heat sterilized instruments, having front desk ladies offer you water, tea, hang your coat, a clean and comfortable waiting area. To me, those extras are worth it over going to some place that only takes cash, and they speak to each other and ignore you the entire time. read more

LOVED Miniluxe! I recently moved to Boston and have been trying to find a new nail place in my new hood. The branding of this nail chain is so adorable that I couldn't resist but to book an appointment. From start to finish my experience was fantastic and I will 100% be back. I made an 11am appointment on a weekday. There were a handful of customers there when I arrived. The receptionist was very nice upon arrival, quickly asking if I would like my coat checked and offered me a drink. A few minutes later my nail technician came out who was very friendly and did a fantastic job. I had their standard Signature Manicure, which could be the most I've ever paid for a manicure at $22. However I've quickly learned that manicures are not $8-12 in the South End like back in NYC, and am slowly learning to accept that. The salon itself had a minimalist design and was extremely clean, plus they had a great color selection from their Miniluxe polish line. My manicure took about 30 minutes, and was meticulous. When my polish was dried, it almost looks like I got a gel manicure it was so good. I'm on day 3 right now and there is not a single sign of chipping. Will definitely be visiting Miniluxe the next time I'm looking to treat myself or wanting a manicure for an event. Great to finally have a go-to! read more

Let's starts out by saying that I came in with a very welcome greeting once I got into the doors. The girl at the front desk named Hannah was extremely friendly. I was then shown to my seat to get a signature pedicure. The girl I had made sure to ask me if the temperature was right for me and gave me a nice little massage and hot towel. I have never had a good experience at this location. This weekend, I figured I would give it another shot and scheduled an appt online for Sunday morning. When I got there, the front desk woman said my appt was not in the system. Some sort of issue with their online booking.... Okay no big deal I thought.. "Can I get a pedicure please?" (IT WAS EMPTY IN THERE) The front desk woman said "Oh sorry we are booked for the day - how about tomorrow at 10AM?" Wait so your system messed up and you have no way to make it right, even though the salon is literally empty. (one technician was doing someone's nails and that was it) No offer to give some discount for their mess up and my inconvenience. She just said there was nothing she could do. How about fix your online booking? Or try to squeeze me in since your system messed up! Horrible customer service! read more

I love this branch of miniluxe (don't like other locations as much)! - Everything is super clean and pleasant and they pay so much attention to the details. - I always get the signature mani pedi which I really enjoy and the polish stays for about 6 days for me (no chip) - I reccomend booking your service online/on the phone! I always book my appointment in advance so I don't know the wait time for walk-ins. - The staff are very nice and welcoming! - The only thing is that the massage time when the technician applies the moisturizer is very short. Except for ONE person getting a manicure and the receptionist turned me away because they didn't have time to do my nails. Give me a freaking break. She said she had time for a color application but not a manicure. I asked if there just wasn't anyone working today because the place was completely empty, how could they not have time. And she told me that there were a couple of people coming in for appointments in the next 10-30 minutes.. uh.. what? A gel manicure without a gel removal takes 30 minutes. I live in the South End, and was really excited to try Mini Luxe because it looks so clean and aesthetically pleasing. However, I got the express manicure/pedicure yesterday and I am very disappointed, especially due to the $70.00 that basically went down the drain yesterday. I have my best friends bridal shower on Saturday and was in need of a fresh manicure and pedicure. Upon entering, I was actually very pleased with how I was treated as I walked in, I would give the front desk girl a 5 star. There were limited color options, but I received the express option so I understood. The colors I picked I actually loved. I had to wait for a bit, I had a 6:30 appointment and got there at 6:18, I didn't start my manicure/pedicures until about 6:40, and the place only had about 1 other person in it, so it was not busy and my manicurist was not helping anyone else. To start, I have ingrown toenails in both my big toes, and my manicurist went in on those nails, like she was mining for gold. I told her about the ingrown toenail, and I was wriggling around in so much pain from her, but she just kept continuing to dig in, I have my podiatrist for that. She could tell I was in pain and I told her I was as well, but it didn't seem to make her stop doing what she was doing. Both my big toes are in excruciating pain today, and I am nervous that she made it worse, as my original ingrown toenail was as a result of a bad pedicure. Now onto my nails...all my nails have already started chipping, and it has been not even 24 hours. There are cracks going up and down the length of my nails, almost like bordering the nail polish. None of the nail polish comes to the tips of my nails, it goes cracked and chipped polish and then just bare nails poking through. My right pinky finger isnt even, and very jagged, as if she didn't even file it or anything. Same thing with my right ring finger. I basically now have to take all this nail polish off, and redo my nails myself. I am very sad and disappointed with my experience, and that I felt that I was robbed. read more

I agree the salon is very nice. It had a very fresh and clean vibe which was nice. The manicure, however, was not good. I got the Signature Manicure with a French Finish last night. The lady didn't clean up around my nails, so I had nail polish on the sides of my fingers. Also, it hasn't even been a full day and they are already chipping. I'm really glad I had a coupon to try it out, so I only had to pay for the French Finish because it was definitely not worth the $30 it would have been. If it was a good manicure $30 wouldn't have been bad, but I don't think I will be coming back here. read more

Had a shellac manicure with Ashanti at miniluxe. She is wonderful. It's great to have a nicer nail salon in the neighborhood. However 3-Star rating for the "10 minute massage" that I paid an extra $10 for (on top of a $47 mani). At every other salon I have ever been to, this includes neck and shoulders. Here, this was an hand/forearm massage which is generally included in an overpriced manicure sure, a few extra minutes. But really not worth the extra splurge. Not clear on their website that it was just hand massage. Even the front desk girl agreed but offered no solution. Very disappointing. read more

This salon is very clean like all MiniLuxe locations, which is a big plus, but it's very overpriced and they typically only have 3-4 techs working, even during busy times like the weekend. That makes it hard to get an appointment at a good time unless you plan a week or two in advance. On top of that the MiniLuxe website and app are super buggy, and their new cancellation policy is very strict / ridiculous, so if you have to move your appointment it's a nightmare. Overall, I think you can probably find a better salon elsewhere. read more

I've had 2 very positive experiences at MiniLuxe south End. First I had gel mani/signature pedi. Both services looked great, and each polish performed as expected. After about 2 weeks, I went back for another mani/pedi, this time doing the performance polish instead of gel on my hands. During each appointment I was happy with service and quality of work. I'm pretty impressed with the polish and haven't had any significant chipping. With that being said, I'm not rough on my hands and I don't use soaps/lotions with any sulfates or alcohols that may impact wear time. If you take care of your nails, I believe you can make it a solid week with the performance polish. read more
