I have been going to Amy's on & off for a few years. On Saturday 4/11/26, I arrived right when they opened, no other customers there, for their "Level 3 Spa Pedicure (what a joke) & Dip manicure. During the pedicure, the nail tech dug into my toes at least twice where I pulled my foot away. No apology. No exfoliation of my feet (the whole point of the pedicure), it was rushed & not definitely what I paid for. The manicure? Never touched my cuticles, I even asked her to trim around the dry skin, didn't happen. There was dip color on my fingers, had to ask her to clean it. The hand massage? Two seconds at the most. She was unfriendly, did a lame job on both, & was seriously miserable having to be there. Why I gave her a tip, I'll never know. I called to speak to a manager today, once again, rude, dismissive & unhelpful when I asked to discuss my concerns. BYE, Amy's Nails, your customer service is the worst. read more

So.... They're nice and my nails looked good for about two days.... But within the first week I had 6 nails chip. I work in an office and this never happens to me when I get dip powder. Ever. My nails usually grow out before needing to get them done again. I went back to ask and they redid them but with the same product and the same technique. I always believe in talking to a business before leaving a negative review. However, my second manicure is now the same exact way. And it happened within 3 days of getting them redone. I live nearby and have been coming here for about 6 months. The salon is always clean and everyone is friendly. It's no frills but they offer just about everything (I get organic gel here) and do a great job! Linh did the pink nails I posted but everyone is very talented and accommodating, just be specific about what you want and speak up if you don't like a color or shape. I've never had an issue with booking an appointment for the same day but have seen folks turned away at the door (so call ahead). Also they close at 8pm, so don't expect them to take an 8pm appointment and be understanding that as a small business, if they are slow all day and cut employees early in the day, they might not be able to take you randomly after 6:30pm (again, make an appointment)! read more

I would never come back to a place who wont even take you at 7:20pm for a simple manicure because apparently they were closed! I asked what time they close and they said 8! For all the nail salons downtown, I prefer Amy's. Having been a resident of the North End for 8 years, I had a lot of options right in my neighborhood. Now that I moved out of the hood but still work downtown, I've looked around at the downtown area spots too. Amys is the most consistent and clean of them all. Better priced, too. Shellac mani with a regular pedi $58. The quality is always spot on here. I've never had a messy or unsatisfactory mani or pedi here. They ask questions as they go to make sure you're getting what you want. There are 10 pedi chairs/baths and and 12 mani stations. Oh, and there's a wall of colors! A lot of OPI and ESSIE options here and definitely not all brand new or organizers but they have a lot! I always say if you are that particular about your polish, bring it with you! Most importantly, each tool comes out of sanitized, clean new packaging (like at the doc office). It's clean here, may seem a bit disorganized, but they have a good thing going. They do take CC. Hana was absolutely great! Walked in on a Tuesday afternoon and there was no wait. Some of the best gel nails that I've gotten while I've been living in Boston. All of the girls there were absolutely great. Very welcoming and seemed to know other customers. Seems to be pretty newly renovated and very clean. They put plastic over the pedicure tubs (a new one after each use), and open a newly sanitized package of nail tools in front of you when you sit down. Well Amy's has an average of 5 stars, so when I was looking for another nail spot in the Boston area that wasn't overpriced for no reason, heading here was a no brainer! The shop is very clean, organized, nice and welcoming. The staff seems very warm as well. I stopped by on a quiet Tuesday morning for a gel mani. Wee did mine and she seems like an absolute perfectionist, which I love. Even when she fixed minor things like removing polish (very little) from the cuticle, she'd go back and make sure multiple times. I'm so happy with my nails! This review is going to be long but I've been to this salon 4 times and each time I have left dissatisfied with the service. They are very close to my job so I would always go out of convenience because my regular nail tech is a bit far but this was the last straw. I went in for a simple color change. I had just gotten a new acrylic set the day before so I only needed her to file off the top layer of polish and apply a new color. Instead she filed off all of the acrylic after I explained multiple times it wasn't necessary because I had just gotten my nails done the day before. After filing off all of the acrylic on that one nail, she realized her mistake and only took the top layer of polish off of the rest of the nails which is all she needed to do. When it was time to apply the gel polish, she attempted to apply the color to the nail without reapplying the acrylic she had just removed. I had to tell her that she needed to apply a new layer of acrylic since the nail tip was completely exposed. The first layer she applied was so thin and only applied to the bottom half of the nail that the nail was bending in half. She hastily applied a second layer of acrylic after I asked her to and then proceeded to hastily apply the gel color, I presume she may have been frustrated with me at this point. When she was finished applying both gel polish layers, I stated that I didn't feel the polish had dried all the way and she wiped them with alcohol anyway and said "they just need to be wiped". I was completely put off by how she rushed through everything and I wasn't happy with the gel application but I didn't want to make a scene and I needed to get back to work. A few hours later, I noticed the polish was peeling off and I was very angry that I'd wasted both my time and money. I generally like to give establishments a couple of chances but I wish I'd never gone back to Amy's nails. In the past I've gotten a regular gel mani, an acrylic full set, a nail fix, and this last polish change. Each time I left unhappy so I would not recommend them for any service whatsoever. FYI they did not do the glitter nail seen in one of the pics I posted. That was applied by my regular nail tech who does amazing nails. read more

My go-to place for manicures. They charge $30 for gels which is I think is great for Boston. I work in healthcare so manicures wear away a bit faster for me but their gels always last me a good 3-4 weeks. The service is quick and friendly, they acknowledge you right away. I've never made an appointment and they always take me right away since they always seem to have enough ladies working. They are very clean as well which is always important when getting your nails done. read more

When I moved to Boston I was worried about finding a place to get my eyebrows waxed and I'm so glad I found Amy Nails & Spa! This place is definitely one of the only spots in Boston I've found that gives a good gel manicure and pedicure for under $60 (gel is $28 and pedicure is $30). They give you a solid 5 minute massage on the pedicure and don't cut any corners. Everyone is also super nice and always accommodates any request I have. Amy nails&spa makes me question whether or not the nail technicians are licensed. The technician used GLITTER GLUE to try to put on acrylic extensions, which didn't work. Another technician had to correct her by telling her that she was using the wrong glue and that she's supposed to use nail glue instead. They are also are unfamiliar with powder dip nails. They put GEL MANICURE as a top coat over my powder nails, which is not how powder dip works. The nails turned out uneven and lumpy. Don't be fooled by their price; cheap price comes with cheap service. read more
