I'm very confused by the recent reviews from unsatisfied Mani/Pedi customers at Mini's Style. I have been a faithful monthly customer for over 10 years. After my haircut, I have a mani/pedi & it is the best service. My toes and and fingernails always look great! Mini is wonderful and her nail girl (Linda) is very sweet. She is very shy, speaks very little English but she is polite and pays attention to detail. She would never be rude by virtue of the fact that she cannot speak English! But once she knows you, she tries to talk with you. Linda is thorough in her work and takes care that your nails look great. I always highly recommend that folks go to Mini's Style! I am in Boston for business this week, and I really needed a manicure and pedicure. Thankfully, I found Mini's Style to have my nails done. The experience was way more than I expected. The place is unassuming, yet well stocked with all colors and brands. Mini could not have been nicer; she took excellent care of my hands and feet, making sure I was totally dry before I left to go to my hotel. If I could give Mini ten stars, I would. I was visiting Boston and my hotel highly recommended her. She is so lovely and warm. She makes you feel right at home and is very attentive to you. The gel manicure and pedicure were one of the best I have ever received. She took two ingrown toenails out and she evens waxes your toes for no additional fee. I had the best time with her. She is a good person and truly cares about her customers. It is rare you find a technician who knows her craft so well and treats you like a queen. I LOVE MINI and her salon. I go here for manicures & pedicures. Location - outstanding. Craftsmanship - I've never had a better mani/pedi. Service - friendly & entertaining. Availability - sometimes hard to get the same day appointment, but if you're flexible she will fit you in. Here's a fun story: I was going to attend an event one evening and decided it was a good idea to treat myself to a mani/pedi. In the middle of winter. I didn't think wearing flip flops was appropriate in 20 degree weather, so I opted out for flats. Mini made sure my nails were extra dry before allowing me to put on shoes, and even then - she strongly suggested that I wear these little baggies with a little bit of oil so my nails don't smudge. Luckily my office is a very short walk away and I didn't feel like that much of a fool walking back wearing sandwich bags for socks with flats. The moral of the story - Mini went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect. Hands down, this is my favorite spot for nails. read more

I've been around when it comes to Brazilian waxes and trust me, there are definitely different levels of quality. Mini is the best. She won't miss a spot and is hilarious to talk to. I was worried to get a pedi with Linda (assistant) originally because of the previous bad reviews. I really don't know what they are talking about! I knew several of Mini's clients who recommended I contact Mini after a last minute unprofessional cancellation with my previous salon. I called to book a same day coloring/haircut appointment and Mini was accommodating to see me at 7pm! I'm so happy I made the appointment, Mini cut, colored and gave me a blow out all within 2 hours. She's talented, accommodating, hardworking and has an amazing personality. Mini is a small business owner and I can see that she wants to make her client happy and leave feeling like she delivered excellent service. Other salons should take note and learn from her customer service skills. I know some people are complaining about the quality of the manicure, especially the gel manicure, but I got mine done three days ago and so far it still looks perfect. Mini paid very close attention and made sure it looked perfect, no bubbles or anything and it has held up so far. It was $30 each for my friend and I and although she was the only one there when we went (walk in, didn't have an appointment) she got both of us done in about an hour. The inside of the building looks a little shady but it was definitely worth it and we will both be going back. read more

Worst manicure and pedicure I have ever received. The assistant who gave me the mani/pedi was sloppy, careless, and rude. I didn't have time to fully expect her job at the end because the appointment was 1.5 hours long and I needed to be somewhere, but when I walked outside I was horrified. There was polish all over my cuticles, not a single nail was done well. Also, it appeared like she didn't even know how to file. I also felt uncomfortable while I was drying and watching her laugh at me, not really sure what was so amusing to her. It's places like these that make me do my nails at home, silly for me for thinking a business could do a job better than myself. read more

Super disappointed in my gel manicure from Minis. I got it on a Wednesday and by Saturday multiple nails had chipped. Some nails have even broken. I have never had a gel last less than 2 weeks before. Also, the color was very uneven on my nails. Some look darker than others. All in all I will not be going back here. :-( The owner is very nice and the price was only $28 for a gel which was great, unfortunately it just wasn't worth it and I would rather pay more for one that will last. read more

Best manicures, pedicures, wax and hair in Boston. I especially go to Mini's Style for my Shellac manicures and pedicures. Linda is top notch. She is soft spoken but extremely diligent and very precise with both her manicures and pedicures. Not really sure with Erica C. or Jacqueline K. are talking about. If either of them spoke to Mini "directly" she would have been very accommodating to ensure their happiness with the services provided. If you want one-stop shop, Mini's Style is the place to go. Mini is phenomenal at waxing. She also gives an amazing cut, color and highlight in addition to fantastic manicures and pedicures. You WILL not be disappointed. read more

Really not very impressed. A little disappointed actually. Pros: --Tried out layering two shellac colors to make a color similar to the one I wanted. It was a good color recommendation -- Convenient to South Station -- Friendly enough -- Similar pricing to local non-spa places Cons: -- 1 hour and 20 minutes for a shellac manicure and eyebrows. This was after I told them that I had to catch a flight later that day. -- After a super fast and only somewhat effective eyebrow wax, the lady walked out of the room without even handing me a mirror to check them out. Fortunately the brows turned out OK (not perfect, though) -- I had to soak my fingers in acetone to remove my old shellac, this process took like half an hour. It was painful. -- The actual shellac polish job was super rushed (after already being there an hour!) and not done well. I asked the lady to re-do two nails that looked terrible. She did. But the poilsh job was the worst among the roughly 30 shellacs around Boston I've had so far. The edges of some of my nails are starting to chip or become uneven, which has never happened to me. I went to the salon on Friday...it is only Tuesday... -- The (assumed) owner seemed to have an employee who was in training or something and they were trading off on working on my nails. The other woman would be doing something and then the owner would push her over and basically say "I'll just do it". It was awkward. Both ladies were nice and friendly but it was just weird. -- Lastly, please don't charge me FULL price after 1. making me sit there for 80 minutes, 2. advertising 15% off for first time customers (which I was), and 3. having someone in training do my nails (with comments from the owner like "if I have time, I will do your nails. i can do them real nice for you". read more

I recently switched jobs and needed a spot close by to do my nails. Typically I would venture into Downtown but I was trying to squeeze in a pedicure during lunch hour so I chose Mini's since it was a 2 minute walk from my office. Note the salon is upstairs on the 3rd floor so you need to take an elevator to the entrance. Upon entering, you will see Mini who I believe is the owner and also a hairstylist. She does hair on one side of the space and likely rents out the other half for nails. My review is solely for my pedicure so I can't speak to other aspects of her business. The nail section is very small and intimate with only two manicure stations and two pedicure massage chairs. Not sure if there are other workers but Linda did my pedicure. She was very soft spoken and on the quiet side so we didn't chat much which was perfectly fine with me because I hate talking during my hour of pampering. I dread getting pedicures because of my ingrown toe nails and I cringe every time they attempt to cut around it because it could be painful but Linda was very gentle and she diligently got rid of it without me cursing. She was very thorough and gave me an hour long pedicure that was relaxing and impeccably finished. Prices are slightly higher than what you would find in Downtown at $30 for a pedicure but it was a 5 star experience and totally worth the extra $$. I'm a happy customer and will definitely come back for my next touch up. read more

I will never go back there. Dirty, creepy and the worst mani! I got gels 3 days ago and 4 of them have already peeled off. Horrible color selection and they water down their OPI gel colors. Polish was all over my cuticles and my finger and I felt like I needed a shower after I left. read more

Not sure if Mini herself is better, BUT the woman that painted my nails was horrendous. I paint my nails better than she did. The polish was lumpy and missed the sides of my nails. I went by Mini's for a quick French manicure during my lunch break. It was great that they were able to fit me in and complete it during my lunch break. The woman that did the manicure was very nice and gentle. However the reason that I am giving a 3 star rating is because of the quality. One of my nails had already chipped before I fully left the salon and several of them had started to chip and get air bubbles before a day or two had passed. I am about a week out and all of my nails have started to crack and chip and typically when I get a French manicure it lasts a couple of weeks before it gets to this point. The price and location were great but I would probably hesitate to go back because of the quality. read more

Very rushed and careless job. Reading other reviews I can agree that the assistant does an extremely rushed and careless job. She seemed very shaky in filing my nails, barely prepped my nails and I left with nearly every nail having a smudge. Sounds like the owner is fine but I would not recommend the assistant. read more

I went to Mini's for a shellac removal and a regular manicure in July 2015. While the staff could not have been nicer, I noticed afterward that there were patches of shellac still on my nails and that the polish looked uneven. I know removing shellac is an art form, but I was disappointed. read more

Mini is the best! She's been doing my hair, full foil highlights and cuts for several years now. My hair always looks amazing and Mini does exactly what I ask. She is the sweetest and kindest stylist I've ever gone too. I like that the salon is quiet and a peaceful atmosphere as well - I find other salon's too noisy and unsettling. I would not recommend this place. I get gel manicures regularly at a nail salon in Easton, but was going away for the weekend and this salon is close to my work. The woman reprimanded me for having 3 coats of gel polish on my nails and had a very difficult time removing it. I always have 3 coats and my regular salon never has an issue with it. They have a very small selection of OPI gel colors and you have to chose the color by looking at the bottles. This is hard because you need to open each bottle to see what the color actually looks like. I asked her to cut my nails and she didn't even attempt to. She filed and buffed about half of each nail and they all turned out sharp and uneven. I asked her to put 3 coats because I chose a dark color and it looked almost transparent on some of my nails, all she said was "no no 2 coats". The polish job isn't very good either. I am extremely disappointed with the results and would not recommend the salon for gel manicures. read more

Mini is the BEST!!! Come to Mini's for my mani's, pedi's and waxes. My nails are always perfect and last for a couple weeks. My pedicures are always perfect as well, my feet feel like a million bucks after. Her color selection is great as well! And the waxing is nice and easy with very little discomfort. The salon is very clean, well kept, comfortable and very reasonably priced for downtown Boston. I wouldn't go anywhere else!!! My hairdresser is my best friend but a few folks I know go for hair cut and color as well and the rave about her! Thanks Mini!! And a quick p.s. Went to Mini's because of the location being so close to my work. When I walked in I was a little nervous because, of the size and location (its next to a dive bar & you have to walk up/ take the elevator to the third floor). I'm going to call Mini "The Fixer". I needed my hair fixed after another salon messed up my cut and color. I explained to Mini exactly what I wanted and she just did it. She really takes the time to listen to what you want done to your hair and how you want it styled. I am really so appreciate because she was able to fit me in to fix my hair before a wedding I was attending. Mini's Style also does nails and waxing. Waxing sessions are extremely thorough. On a side note, I thought it was funny that Mini calls bikini waxes zip zip. She told me that a lot of her clients call from work to make the appointments so the code name to a bikini wax is zip zip. Let's not forget my nails! I have gone to both Mini and Linda. They both do amazing work. I highly recommend this salon. It's very convenient if you work in Post Office Square. read more
