I am a regular client. I thought I had a good relationship with my nail tech, I tip her well in cash and make my appointments in advance. I provide her with a cash bonus. I walked in on Friday and she looked at me and said, ' do you have an appointment?'' she was cold, distant and had no smile on her face. I took off my glasses and my hat thinking maybe she didn't recognize me as a three year customer.. I said no, I'd like to make one. I made the appointment two days from then, and she wrote it in the appointment book. Today when I came for my scheduled appointment, she said she forgot about my appointment and asked me to come back later that day. I asked her what was going? I said I almost canceled my appointment today because The coldness in which I was received. I said there's no need to make another appointment. There are plenty of nail salons around and a frequent customer should be welcomed. What a shame, cause I frequently recommended the salon and that specific nail tech. read more

I received gel acrylic nails from here, they cut my cuticles up so bad in multiple different places, I have scabs below some of my cuticle bed lines. The nails also don't even really look good and after the manicure there was gel dried onto my fingers. Super painful, I was hoping to be able to relax before work but instead I got the opposite. Bare bones type of nail salon, but the quality was eerily good. My regular manicure lasted longer than expected. They get the job done and do it pretty well. However, if you're going for ambiance, I would pick a different place. Everything, the furnishings and such, is quite...age-ed. On the bright side the tools come in autoclave bags so they seemed to be sterilized. They also require masks so we can thank them for keeping us safe. read more

I am crying as I leave my pedicure today. I have been going to this salon for years and as a newly postpartum mom brought my infant in with me so I could have a manicure and a pedicure. The woman who did my toes was rude from the start. She assumed that because I didn't have my baby in a stroller. My baby would scream the entire time, which she did not and refused to do a manicure for me. All she kept saying was that she has many customers and she doesn't need my service when I just continued to calmly ask her for a little bit of kindness and understanding that is a new mom with an event on Friday this was the only time I could come in. She kept insisting that I should leave the baby with someone else to come in(if only I had someone else). Not a single other employee in the salon stood up for me, it's clear she's the bully. Cambridge nails has been one of the best experiences I've had at a salon. Tina the owner, is very friendly and runs one of the cleanest nail salons I have ever seen. They have hundreds and hundreds of colors to choose from at the salon. Not to mention they have many different types of thing they can put on your nails, dip, acrylic and one of their newest, gel x(which last 3 weeks+) They offer other services such as waxing. I got my eyebrows waxed by Tina and she cleaned them up quick and painlessly and, they came out amazing. I also decided to bring my mother and sister and their nails came out amazing as well. I'm disappointed to write this review as this used to be a very good salon. I was a regular customer visiting the salon once a month on average for 5 years and had always received a decent manicure. On my last visit there, I didn't have cash for a tip so I returned 6 days after my manicure with the cash and also wanted to show the manager that I had not received a good gel manicure and my nails had chipped after only 3 days. I wanted to drop off the tip and show them this, hoping for a redo the following day. Wellll that is not how it went. After giving them the tip, I showed my nails to the lead manicurist (picture from 6 days later attached) and explained that this happened after only 3 days. To my horror, she replied, "your nails weak!" and waved me away. I persisted and said "no, I don't think so... it shouldn't chip after 3 days." She said they could fix one nail right then and there but I explained I didn't have time and would return the next day. She replied "you come back and get new manicure!" This is what the appropriate offer would be, so I confirmed, "ok, free manicure next week?" To which she said "NO - GEL 30 dollar. I talk to you another time!" She waved me away one last time and I left. Unless something were to change, I don't see how I would return. read more

I booked an appointment and wasn't seen for 20 minutes. When I look at my pinky nail that has gel bubbles from the top coat I just can't help but feel my technician seemed in a rush to get me out. Never mind the excessive second layer of color making it smudge-able even after 20 minutes of drying. I will now be doing it myself. I was also charged an additional $5 because I chose an OPI bottle rather than an Essie bottle because they said it "lasts longer". Complete waste of money. I was hoping to find a nail salon near my apt that did an amazing job and that wasn't the case here. They took 1.5 hrs to do my dip and it still didn't last. They started chipping within the week. And the dip was so thick on my Nails and they unevenly shaped my nails. I'm comparing this place to salons in Worcester area that are wayyy cheaper. I've had my nails done there in less than an hour and after 3 weeks the nails still looked perfect. For the job I got done here is not worth $45 + tip. They seriously need to improve their technique if they're going to charge that much. Or charge less. Although the dip was not well done they are very friendly staff. In my experience dip should last 3+ weeks, especially when it costs $65. Giving one star because the nail tech was friendly, but the work is subpar. The paint job was horrible lines were crooked and the polish itself was lumpy. I asked her to fix twice but got ignored. I wish I could put a negative star. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. The woman shaped my nails in three different shapes so I asked her if I could file them myself. She got a little attitude but I thought it was no big deal. 2 min later she comes up to me and tells me that if I'm going to do it myself I might as well do it at home, and proceeds to scream at me that I'm wasting her time. Mind you there is one other person there. She tells her manager who tells me I have to leave. I was very polite and didn't even raise my voice back. Love this place! I've been living in Boston for almost three years and until a few months ago just bounced around to a different salon every time I needed a new manicure. I never found somewhere worth returning until here. Their gel manicure (what I usually get) costs $30 which is very reasonable. They must have 150 different gel colors from several brands (IBD, Essie, OPI, etc) to choose from. I've seen a few different people (my fav is Helen!) but every time my manicure has been impeccable and lasted well beyond two weeks. I come here frequently for pedicures and gel manicures. It's a perfect no-frills place with reasonable prices. The massage chairs are the best ones I've ever used, (I would honestly probably come here even if the pedicures sucked just to experience the massage chair) but the pedicures are great! They only have one basic pedicure and no upgrade option for a "spa" pedicure etc, but the basic is good on its own. I am always concerned with cleanliness, then the quality of work done and of course the professionalism. As for cleanliness, the owner Tina is very much a proponent of maintaining up to date equipment, sterilization of all equipment and overall is A+ clean.
