I started seeing her several years ago per the recommendation of a friend who, with Shannon's help, let her natural grey grow out and looked phenomenal the entire time of her transformation. I wanted the same experience and Shannon did not disappoint. We started with cutting my hair a little shorter than usual - to just below my ear lobes. Shannon added lowlights to tone down the existing full head brown dye and let my natural grey/white areas work as highlights. Then she gradually cut off the brassy-blond left over from coloring and let my hair grow longer again. Now I have shoulder length grey hair with natural white-silver highlights and am loving it! It was easy to find parking and there are tons of neighboring businesses. The decor of the salon itself felt to homey. There were very comfortable couches to sit while waiting and the salon was well lit. I really loved my facials with Amanda. She is very caring and her services are not only done with high-quality products, but she really takes her time to do a quality job. I really like that she communicates directly with her clients with text and email to stay connected with her clients. I LOVED that she has her own schedule. Even though the facial was 60 min long, Amanda wants to make sure you feel comfortable before and after the facial. I can't wait to be back. Sarah, my stylist, was incredibly friendly and did a great job handling my long thick hair. I have to accept my updo will always look way larger than the pictures I save on Pinterest due to how much hair I have but she made it look really pretty and it survived dancing. My absolutely favorite thing about this salon is that there is a tiny rescue kitten running around calling the shots! It made my day to see a screaming furball at my feet and Sarah allowed me to hold her and cuddle her while she did my hair. 10/10 experience

I have 2c/3a hair and have never really trusted people with it after multiple failed attempts at a curly cut but she genuinely amazed me! She even taught me how to style it! So my hair looks good even if I do it! I think it's also important to add that I had super long hair past my butt when I went in, so I was very concerned that she would cut more than I wanted her to, but she absolutely did exactly what I asked for! My daughter wanted to perm her hair (first time!) so after countless google & yelp searching we…read moredecided to go with Urbanity because they called me back (even tho I didn't leave a msg to generic phone vm), and we scheduled an appointment. 10am appt - no one else was in the salon, and it was very nice and chic inside. My daughter was excited and I left her there (was quoted ~ 2 hours for the perm) since she knows what she wanted done to her hair. Pics attached of the perm to this post. It was done in under two hours and when I picked her up the front was curly but I felt the back was ... not done?! We were told to let it 'air dry' and the curls are forever until her hair grows out. Few hours later after it was completely dry we still felt the back was not curly. It had a curtain of waves on top but the bottom looked like her before perm straight hair. I texted the stylist who did the perm the situation. She replied: "She honestly probably just needs a trim, as perms can be a little damaging. If you want to bring her in on friday or Saturday i can do it for her. No charge of course". My daughter was hesitant the trim would be done terribly as well, and in the end she wanted a headful of curls so we didn't go for the trim. Friendly service but sadly disappointing skills and pricey - $150.
