I got a great haircut from Alexis. This was my first time at Fawn and Fox and only my second haircut since the pandemic. My hair had gotten long, had no real style to it, and I'd been trimming my own bangs which meant keeping them a little long because I'm not a hairstylist. I gave Alexis free reign to do whatever she wanted as long as I didn't leave feeling like I was wearing a football helmet. I loved her idea, it was well executed, and she told me how to style it myself. The whole place is very cute. There's a mini fridge with a variety of beverages including adult beverages. All the staff and stylists wore masks and I kept my mask on the whole time except for a moment at the beginning so Alexis could see my whole face while planning my cut. I took it off at the end for a moment as well to take in the new look. Booking online was easy. They called two days ahead to ask for a deposit as I was a new customer. I missed the call and didn't get a chance to call the next day. I called when they opened the day of my appointment to confirm and it was all good. Finally, I have to say the music was excellent. Genevieve upfront controls the playlist which included The Smiths, Belle and Sebastian, The Jam, Alvvays, and other great stuff across 4 decades. read more

If this was the Spawn Of Fox Salon, or the Bawn Of Fox Salon, then it would be run by my kids. And I don't have any kids. For very good reason. And if you're bored of my reviews, it's the Yawn Of Fox Salon. The whole point of me going to the Fawn & Fox is so that people Fawn over Fox. If you know what I mean. I actually used to date a girl named Fawn. She stole $20 from me and ran off into the night. And if you think that story is boring, ask me about the needle-hole story I told on my original Fawn & Fox review. I told them this when I got here, and they thought it was super cute and ridiculous (and possibly made up). Julie was recommended a long time ago, so I picked her. Best decision my hair ever made. Julie is a ridiculously good looking stylist (like everybody here, really) with perfect hair, and with the most amazing tattoos, too. Her hubby is a vocalist like me, but with a much sexier growlier rock voice. After all the times she's cut my hair, I consider her a good friend. And all the other employees here too. Julie at the front desk (different Julie) in particular is an absolute angel. Seriously, Julie (stylist) gave me the best haircut of my life. She squeezed me in when nobody else would squeeze me in (and she was my top choice out of the 4 salons that I was thinking of going to). And then the haircut totally rocked my world. I was in Brazil for awhile and all of the girls were like... omg! And the boys. Wow the boys. Totes all over me and stuff. Then again it was Brazil. But yes. I enjoyed that. I was tired of the long messy hair, so now it's... well, short and messy. Just kidding. It's still long ish and it looks much better now. And it has nice colors. Edit: I have now had my hair done here twice, and amazingly it was even better the second time. Brilliant work by Julie. Edit to edit: I have now had my hair done 14 and a half times, all by Julie, all with wonderful results. 18 y.o. and 80 y.o. people alike want to date me, because of my hair, and I tell them all the same thing. "You're too young for me bru." I took some really nice pix of my new hair just after it got done, but my phone was stolen in Brazil so I was never able to post them. But you can take my word for it... I've been all over the place and had my hair done in several places, but this cut is the best cut I've had, Julie is the most talented stylist I've gone to, and all of it was under $100 despite the highlights (which she was reluctant to put in, because she's so good at making natural hair look good without any chemical additions)... but I absolutely love the highlights. And everything else. Negatives? None, really. I even missed some appointments (I feel crappy about it) and they've been very nice to me about it. They're a bit down on Yelp as many good businesses are (mainly on some of the unfair negative things said about them by just 1 or 2 people), but I assured them, while Yelp has massive down points, it's the reason I found them, and plenty of others. It can really help. And as a sort of not quite celebrity, I told them the same words I try to live by, since I get a sh** ton of random hate, which escalates each year as people get dumber, bolder, and angrier. "Ignore the haters." Come and get your stuff done by Julie, so to speak. The other stylists here are brilliant too. The owner is a sweetheart (and her name isn't Fawn, which is good... bad memories and stuff). Affordable and NYC-quality. Just remember to call well in advance of when you want it done. I've gone to Fawn & Fox twice now, and both times I have left feeling extremely satisfied and in love with my new look! Both times I've been with Andrea, and I plan on staying with her. The first was a chop, and most recently I got this super cool undercut! Andrea is fun to talk with and I love that she really took the time to make sure my undercut was as even as possible. I find it very easy to schedule an appointment online. I can do it from phone, too. I had to call and leave a voicemail because I had a question, and someone got back to me almost immediately over text! Just a really friendly business overall. Also, even though you can pay with card, gratuity is via Venmo or cash. So if you don't usually carry cash, I recommend downloading Venmo ahead of time. read more

This salon has a chic and trendy atmosphere and quality products. The haircut I got from my stylist was an ok trim and I would probably recommend the salon for someone looking for a simple haircut in a nice atmosphere. Would not recommend for balayage or all over color. The quality of services are on par with the cheaper chain salons. So not terrible but not anything better than average, either. If you're willing to pay the prices that this salon charges, you might as well look elsewhere. read more

My hair was butchered. I went here for a trim on a thick, long, practically all one length haircut. I came out with a thin, short, uneven mullet, with half-inch-long stubs at the top of my head. The stylist took off much of the right side of my hair, cut two big chunks out of the back, and thinned out the rest. She took off more than half of my hair without asking or telling me. Just started hacking away. I was left with a weird, thinned-out, mushroom-shaped haircut with two huge holes in the back and the right side see-through. This was six years ago. My hair was so damaged that it never grew back. I have shown this to hairstylists around the country and they agree that it is probably one of the most botched haircuts they've ever seen. Why did this happen? If you read the other reviews, it seems pretty clear that the stylists here simply don't care. Maybe she was having a bad day, or more likely, just really sloppy and wanting to get the client out of the chair as soon as possible. If you care about your hair, avoid this place at all costs. read more

I couldn't get into my "usual place" to get a haircut last week and was anxious to get it done, so I thought I'd check out Fawn & Fox due to a steady stream of great things I've heard about it since opening. Fortunate for me, Julie had a cancellation. Upon entering the salon, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and offered coffee or tea while I waited (just a couple minutes). The salon itself maintains a warm atmosphere while having a sleek, modern look. It's the type of place that's chic, but won't make you think you might be in a bar/club or something. Now, the hair: I have curly hair that's somewhat confusing at first glance. It doesn't feel like it looks, morphs entirely when wet, and may or may not hold a blowout as one would think. Needless to say, if I go somewhere I've never been for a cut or style, it takes a little explanation before getting started. Julie was kind and patient with figuring it out and asked thoughtful questions. We chatted and had a nice time all the while too. I would definitely return here and see Julie again! My favorite hair place ever - Thwy have the coolest vibe when you walk in and one of the best decorated hair salons in buffalo. I've been seeing Kristin for years and she's so smart and educated in every facet of hair- she's a Redken educator and color stylist and always gives me a great blonde. There was no one else I trusted to do my hair for my wedding and they were so excited when I booked the salon. I had two trials with Kristin and she made feel as such ease. For my wedding, I could play and bring whatever I wanted to the salon(mimosas, breakfast, etc). My hair was absolutely perfect for my wedding and lasted ALL day. Didn't even need a touch up! It was so so perfect and my groom thought so too! Kristin did an amazing job and I would recommend Fawn and fox to anyone who's getting married, wanting a great highlight or color or a cool do - they are truly Buffalo's best! read more

This review is hard for me to write, that's why I waited so long to write it. I'm just mixed about this place. About a month ago I went to the salon for the first time. I saw Dana who used to cut my hair years ago before she opened her own shop. I was so glad to find her again! I wanted to treat myself to a new cut and color and highlights for the upcoming spring/summer season. I knew my hair was going to be a toughie because I had highlights, pro color and my own semi color job from 6 months ago in it. Dana did seem apprehensive so I even almost chickened out and said "maybe I should make another appt." She did say shes not 100 percent about how its going to come out and that it might not look like my picture. (I know I'm a dork I brought a pic of Jessica Alba just to give you an idea of what I was looking for.) The results were not good. No it did not come out the shade I wanted. It was too blonde. For my coloring that's a no. I want to put that aside though. I want to judge the skill of the color job. I had several inches where there was no pro color or my own dye in there, and the color job still came out patchy and stripey. The highlights were much too light in color. It wasn't until I got home that I realized how stripey and patchy everything was. I called the salon and Dana agreed to try and fix it. All that could be done was to put a dark gloss over the whole thing, basically bringing me back to where I was minus my highlights. The gloss did not last (I wash my hair everyday sometimes twice a day because I work out everyday.) I ended up putting my own permanent color over it. My own dye job came out a million times better. I talked to my girlfriends about what happened and showed them the results (they get their hair colored and done at salons all the time this was prob my 4th time getting color and highlights done at a salon). The consensus is even though I had all that prior color (pro and home) in there, there shouldn't have been stripes and spots of random color, and I agree especially in the virgin hair. Overall I really liked the cut. I like the new salon. I really like Dana. I just don't think I'd go there for color again. I don't want to go to a different place for color and a different place for cuts, its hard enough to get an appt at one place! I would go back for a cut but not for color. I don't know if there are most skilled colorists at the salon, most of the women getting color done seemed to be getting one process coloring. Therefore I'm still trying to find a great stylist that is affordable in Buffalo. read more

Julie, Julie, Julie.... Being new to Buffalo, I'm experiencing a lot of firsts, and Julie is my first fabulous cut and color.... I was a little freaked out and nervous to start the seasonal blond to brown transition... And not to mention I had a completely new to me person coloring and cutting my hair. I arrived promptly at 4:00, and had to hang out for a half hour or so. But - it's Friday, end of the day - I was OK with the wait. It'd be neat though if their online booking system could notify you via email that they are running a few minutes behind.... Just a thought... Anyhow.. back to Julie, something about her demeanor, really laid back and calming - she gave me an "I got this vibe" - sit back and relax and I'll see you in a bit with a fabulous new cut and color, and that was exactly what happened.. I don't know what I was expecting, but Julie, knocked my flip flops off. She made me feel hot and sexy again. Based on one cut, I would 100% recommend her to anyone, even my mother. She was AMAZING, in ever sense of the word!!! Prices: I was expecting my bill to be at least $150, thinking closer to $180. Color, Highlights, Toner, Cut (a really good cut, not just a trim) and Style... Grand total $140.... I pay my therapist more money an hour and Julie did a better job of relaxing me and making me feel more confident. Definitely will be back! read more

I'd probably driven past this place 100 times and never noticed it was there. Parking in the rear. I went to Noah, and treated him the same exact way I treat the staff at Gates Circle Liquor. Told him more of what I wanted to accomplish, and why. ("I have a new baby and a toddler, I'd like something kind of short, I don't have a lot of time to get ready, need to pull it back but I also need it to look good for work"). I then took all of his advice, as he suggested a few things that were different than what I thought at first but the reasons were compelling. I'm really glad I did. It looks and feels great. I guess that was something I appreciated - I have found at other places that stylists are sometimes nervous to give advice, and that's what I really want. I'm not great with aesthetics, and do want the second opinion. He was also delightful to talk to, carrying on an interesting conversation while cutting my hair. The rates are very fair, all the furniture is comfortable (though I wasn't sitting in the waiting area long). All tips are cash only, but you can pay the regular bill with a card. I had my hair cut by Julie the other day and I couldn't be happier. I brought in about ten different pictures, none of which captured exactly what I had in mind, and she managed to translate that into exactly what I wanted. For the past eight months or so I've been growing my hair out and it was past time to go short again. With my haircut I also had my hair dyed and color blocked. The color came out perfectly, and I love the hints of purple popping out from underneath the dark brown. One thing that I think is really important is my ability to do my hair in the morning without too much effort. While it never looks quite as good as coming out of the salon, I've definitely been able to do it myself without too much trouble. Julie was amazing and I'd definitely recommend Fawn & Fox to anyone. read more

Before I mention anything negative, I will say that the hair stylists do a fine job and the atmosphere is very relaxed (I used to come here regularly as of yesterday). Earlier this week I booked an appointment online and came in today for my scheduled cut. The receptionist mentioned upon my arrival that my stylist was running behind, which is fine and understandable. 10 minutes pass... 20 minutes pass... 30 minutes pass... 45 minutes pass... By now I'm fed up watching several others come AND go while I'm still sitting and waiting in the corner without any kind of update. I asked the kind receptionist how much longer I needed to wait, to which she replied she didn't know. She offered to re-book my appointment, but since I wasn't in the mood to wait another 45 minutes for a haircut next week, I politely declined and waved goodbye. My constructive feedback for the business owners: one bad experience is all it takes to lose a customer. read more

Pros: -Pretty interior -Sweet receptionist (wish she could cut my hair!) -Stylists are available if you ever need an alteration on your cut -Parking -Small discount for a long wait Cons: -Hit or miss haircuts (better at dry cuts) -Overpriced -They overbook. Had to wait nearly an hour before my appointment began. Stylist had to go back and forth between me and another client during the appointment. (whole experience took about 3 hours for a regular wash and cut) -Not enough seating for those waiting I know it's a new business and they're still working out problem areas, but I just didn't have that great of an experience here. (Similar to my experience and wait at New Age Salon). It was average bordering on bad due to the wait alone, which no one really apologized for (which makes me think that this might be a common occurrence). To be fair, I just don't think the salon is a fit for me. Not sure if I will be returning. read more

Let me start off by saying the vibe in here is cool and hip. I would recommend their interior designer to anyone and I am being 100% serious. If we're going purely on looks and atmosphere this salon is a total 10. But. And we all knew a but was coming, I had a very disappointing coloring mishap at this salon. I came in for only a trim and touch up on my very short pixie cut. Andrea was gracious enough to only charge me a men's price since my hair is so short. (Which bring me to a point about their pricing by gender instead of hair length that seems sexist and unfair but I digress.) However, we got talking about getting color, too. I showed her several photos from last year when I had my hair very platinum blonde and made it very clear I wanted very very light platnium. We discussed the gray hair trend that's going on currently and she said she had a great product that would give me a really nice violet light blonde. Long story short it came out strawberry dirty blonde (ie. My original dirty blonde hair with a pink over lay.) I had to make a second appointment to get it fixed. At the second appointment I came prepared with pictures of the exact gray color I wanted. I emphasized I wanted very light blonde and was going for more of a blue undertone than pink. She made my hair platinum with a strange icey blue effect that looked cool but wasn't what I asked for. I thought this place specialized in color and I find it completely unacceptable that I asked for gray and got ice blue. On top of this she also charged me for the second appointment to fix my color when at the start of the original appointment she explicitly said we could tweak the color after if I didn't like it. I got charged twice for two colors I didn't want. She was right about one thing though; the ice blue has essentially completely faded to platnium blonde. And although she told me the color would fade it makes me question the quality of their products if the color fades in what felt like 5 days. All in all if you've a wealthy individual who has lots of cash to throw around, I would choose Fawn and Fox over Studio 806 any day. Want to get your hair colored? Go to Euphoria in the galleria mall. Honestly their color is the best, their products the best and I liked the way my hair felt after my coloring more than before. read more

When I found out that my favorite stylist, Noah, would be at Fawn & Fox, I got very excited! The staff and stylists there are incredibly nice and professional, and make booking appointments easy. They are all also super flexible and reach out to customers if they have an unexpected opening, as well as staying late to accommodate their customers' schedules. Noah's work, simply, is peerless. I look forward to seeing him and seeing everyone at the salon in the bright, welcoming interior that matches their personalities. Can't recommend Fawn & Fox highly enough. read more

College student stopping in for a cut before graduation. My first time here; it's a bit out of my usual price range. Anyways, it was easy to schedule an appointment online - I did that two weeks ahead of time and had enough options, though not a ton. Atmosphere cute and trendy, no surprise. The waiting area is pretty nice. My stylist was running about 15 minutes behind on a Saturday late morning. Overall I was really pleased. I'm pretty cheap about my hair, so I appreciated that Andrea wasn't pushy about the fact that it hadn't been cut for 9 months, etc... But my bad last cut was fixed up really nice this morning, so I'm happy about that. Recommended. read more

Dana, the owner of Fawn & Fox, cut my hair, gave my 2 year old daughter her first professional haircut, and then did my eyebrows the next day because I needed to come back for more immediately. I had a great experience here, and I think the quiet, muted place was much better for keeping my little one from squirming around then a kid-themed haircut location would probably have been. Dana was great with both Amelie and myself, and I felt like I had known her forever by the end of the first cut, and when I saw her the next day she greeted me like we were old friends. I am definitely not regretting finally getting bangs... love them! Dana cured my indecisiveness, gave me coffee, and was actually pickier about the last few snips then I was. I've been coming to Fawn & Fox salon since it opened in November of 2011 because my stylist Dana decided to open it and I'm loyal to my stylists! The space is beautiful and very original which is hard to come by these days. Bumble and bumble (my favorite) and Redken products are their mainstays. They are very aware of the latest trends but know what is going to work and not work on a client and have no problem finding the style that best compliments you. They have helped me with tips and products so I can recreate styles at home. All of the stylists are talented, I have personally used Dana and Julie. Julie did an up-do on me when I was a bridesmaid and I received more compliments than I ever have in my life! I have also used their waxing services by Shiane who is very speedy, efficient and funny to boot. She makes you feel at ease and as pain-free as possible! read more

While the conventional wisdom is that you can't do cool, creative cuts with long-ish hair, Amy at Fawn & Fox just gave me a shaggy new spring 'do that I've never quite rocked before. While we laughed and chatted about everything from gluten-free foods to our mutual lack of gardening skills, she must have removed about six pounds of hair from my head, leaving me with most of my length and hardly any of the weight. All without using thinning shears! Magical. That said, Amy didn't actually try to change my style with the cut, which was nice. She describes herself as "client-friendly" -- meaning, when I asked if she had any style tips, she said, "Honestly? Just keep doin' what you're doin'! If you're an air-dry girl, I'm not gonna tell you that now you have to flip your head over and blow-dry this for half an hour." True to her word, my hairstyle has been pretty easy to maintain (though I'm still getting used to it). I like the cut of Amy's jib, and I also really dig the aesthetic of the salon overall. Many salons in Buffalo feel outdated: there must have been a sale in the '80s on wrought-iron benches, beveled mirrors, black leather couches and maroon paint, and many places seem to feel it's unnecessary to update. I'm always afraid someone's going to try to give me the "Jennifer Aniston," or god forbid, a perm. But Fawn & Fox has a fresh, clean and decidedly 21st-century vibe going on with their design and space. It also has a very 21st-century booking system -- you can choose the time, day, and price/experience level of your stylist online vs. calling. As someone who lives and dies by my online gcalendar, it's nice to view all the available times on-screen versus having the receptionist repeat them to me five times. The small, private back parking lot also makes it convenient to blow in and out of Gates Circle if you're in a hurry. So yeah. If you're young, busy, and looking for a cut you might not get elsewhere in the B-lo, Fawn & Fox is a great go-to! read more

My experiences with getting haircuts usually follow this template (in chronological order): Unwillingness to even get it done no matter how badly-needed, finally making an appointment, anxiety, showing up to the appointment, anxiety, having the stylist ask me what I want done and not really knowing, anxiety, struggling through smalltalk, anxiety, more anxiety related to what is currently happening to my hair, being thankful it's finally over, uncertainty of whether or not I like my new haircut, anxiety. Maybe some more anxiety thrown in the mix. What I'm getting at is, I don't like going to get my hair cut very much. It's not quite full-blown torture, but it's pretty dang close. Fawn and Fox Salon might not make me less of a neurotic wreck, or remove me of my social ineptness, but at least I know I'll be rather pleased with the outcome. That's something, right? But actually, it even does accomplish that to some degree, amazingly enough. In direct contrast to the æsthetically sterile décor of most salons I have set foot in, Fawn and Fox feels cozy. I might typically scoff at, e.g., coat hangers shaped like tree branches, but F&F pulls it off. They even give you coffee while you wait for your appointment, which surely is a direct way to my heart (however, note that in my experience I've never even had to wait long enough to get to enjoy the coffee). The people there are all very nice, and though the anxiety still arises when my conversational skills fall flat (and boy do they ever), it could be and has been worse. I don't feel 100% totally out of place, which is quite a feat. In addition to the general pleasantness of Fawn and Fox's stylists, they have also shown exceptional patience with me. I don't know much about hair, so I have always found the "show a picture of hair you like" method to be absurd. Maybe Hairstyle X looks great on Person A, but would that translate over to my horsehair, my dumbface, &c.? (+1 Anxiety). Whereas most stylists of my past seemed to expect me to have an exact picture of what I wanted done, the F&F stylists have worked with me, told me things that would work, and so on. This is nice, and exactly the sort of thing I'd expect from spending a bit more money on a "hip" salon (-1 Anxiety). I suppose, however, that the crux of this review should be on the results of my haircuts rather than my mental/emotional nonsense and this salon's ability to suppress said nonsense, but I'm not exactly sure what there is to say. I'm just a girlyboyish dude who gets fairly basic haircuts and thinks F&F does a rather great job. When I leave, I feel like I can actually show myself in public without crippling shame. Coming from a background of getting my haircuts in the actual real Hell of Buffalo's suburbs, this is a Big Thing, indeed. read more

I have been to Fawn and Fox twice now. My first appointment was made for highlights and low lights, which turned out really nice. The bill was surprisingly much cheaper than the previous salon I had been going to for years. My latest and second appointment was for a wedding up-do. I have a ton of hair and a history of failed up-dos, but I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. The salon opened early for my sister and I and were overall very accommodating with our busy schedule. We were in and out within a half hour and each bill came to only $50. With the amount of hair we have and the styles they were able to do on us, both my sister and I were really impressed. read more

I followed Julie here from New Age. She's awesome. I've never gone back to the same hairdresser twice (commitmentphobe?) but I love seeing Julie. She does a great job. I love my haircut! And she allows for some non-awkward silence but also some chit chat. The decor in this salon is gorgeous, I am so impressed! And they have complimentary Keurig coffee (didn't have time to grab any) and a gumball machine! My only initial concern was they do not have a list of services on their website or FB page. I was worried I'd be going in for a $60 haircut and not know about it! Their prices for cuts are very reasonable ($39 shampoo cut and style for women!) and you look great. Finally found my salon match! Wanted to add an edit regarding Shianne, waxing goddess, and her awesome addition to the salon. She is funny and makes the .... uncomfortable moments blunt and hilarious. She also knows what she's doing, so it's relatively quick and painless. read more

I'll pretty much echo everything that was said before. I've been super jazzed about my hair cut since I heard about the opening; my first cut was tonight. The owner's been cutting my hair for going on 5 years and I won't go to anyone else. She knows me, knows my hair and never lets me down. If you're new to Buffalo and aren't sure what's out here in the beauty world or if you're local and looking to change your look up with a new stylist, give fawn & fox a shot! The lack of pretentiousness, beautiful architectural details and color palette will lure you in, the talent and atmosphere here will bring you back. Absolutely no attitude/awkwardness here. I love it here. Julie cut my hair just like I wanted it, but then added an extra layer of awesome. Also, there is no judgement on past home dye jobs, cuts, etc. I have not experienced any of the time management issues other reviewers have mentioned. The interior is very stylish and they play great music. They carry the complete line of Bumble & Bumble products. Best of all? Fawn & Fox is not only the most beautiful salon ever, but the stylists are amazing. I live in Boston, but was visiting Buffalo and had to book an appointment since all of my family goes to this salon and I'm endlessly jealous of their beautiful hair. I booked an appointment with Dana and was not disappointed. The task was not easy - I had died my hair 18 months ago and was hoping to trim out the color that was left without re-dying or losing too much length. Dana was a master at shaping my hair to remove all the old color but keeping the length. I'd always blow dried my hair because I have curls that never set right naturally, but she showed me how to style my hair wet in a way that leaves me with the larger ring curls I've always wanted. I left with an amazing cut and a completely different way to style and wear my hair. Now I'm going to have a very expensive salon habit, since I'll never go to another salon again, which will require a trip to Buffalo every time I want a trim! read more

Sooooo happy I went here! I really dug the rustic and reclaimed wood aesthetic, and--most importantly--Julie saved my hair! After a 10 minute crumb-bum haircut at elsewhere that left me looking like Punky Brewster, I crawled into Fawn & Fox begging for help. My appointment was early and the staff were gathered by the front desk when I walked in. I got big smiles and greetings from everyone. I saw the lovely Julie who took a long time talking to me, discussing the plan of attack, my wants and needs--and then she proceeded to turn a bad hair day into an AWESOME hair day! Really--miracles happened. Not only was I pumped when I left the salon, but I was actually able to recreate the look from home (which I can NEVER do). Salon-looking hair every day of the week? Yes please! The Pureology products at the salon are also great--I'm so glad I splurged and bought a couple products--they've quickly become my favorites. And yes! They have parking! Follow the driveway next to the building all the way into the back and park up against the fence. The back door doesn't open into the shop so you have to walk around to the front. ***I don't understand the 2-star reviewer saying that it was TOO easy to get in. Really, you want to wait a long time for your appointments? This is a brand new salon, and once word gets around it WILL take a long time to get an appointment. Love it here. Amy listens to exactly what you are asking for and is also super easy to talk to. I have been 5 times thus far and had one experience where I wasn't in love with the color. Instead of making me feel bad, Amy quickly booked me a follow up appointment a few days later and fixed me up to exactly the color I was looking for(note also, it was not her fault, my hair pulls incredibly orange). Yesterday was my first haircut in Buffalo since moving here last summer -- that's how frightened I was of trusting someone new with my locks. I found out about Fawn & Fox Salon via a friend in my book club; I trust her taste in literature, so I knew she wouldn't steer me in the wrong direction for a haircut. The salon opened in November, is in pristine condition, and has the rustic decor to match the name. Julie's station has an adorable metal owl bag hanger! So, I would be lying if I said I didn't follow Kristin to her new salon. Because I most certainly did. I would trust no one else with my locks and that's a fact. You can literately come in and say, "I think I like brown things, and maybe some choppy stuff... or maybe blonde? Bangs (ish?)". Decor is a perfect mix of eclectic/modern/vintage which really compliments the original character of the space (formerly a curves, if you can believe it). As a guy that's been searching for a solid hair cut, I'm glad I found this place in buffalo. I would recommend it to anyone. I came in with an Idea of what I wanted, as well as a picture. and they nailed it first try. Most guys don't care much who cuts their hair or what it looks like, but I've learned that if you want to be a professional, you have to look the part. This is my salon home. I only make it in every 6 months since I live in NYC (Im too overwhelmed to even bother trying to find a salon I can afford there) but Kristen (kristin??) is my fave ever. I had a bad bleach job in cali (odd, you'd think they'd have it down out there) and she fixed it lightening the brassy bits and then using a glaze to take me to the perfect ashy shade. She always cuts it exactly how I ask for it, and just seems to get where I'm coming from. I don't fit in at the super prissy spa type places, these girls are down to earth and I can actually have conversations with them which helps with the trust issue. I will keep coming back here as long as I live on the east coast (and my fam is in buffalo, not willing to go that far just for hair) read more

Julia did an amazing job on my hair! It was in such rough shape throughout covid. I brought pictures and showed her the length and color I wanted. It turned out better than expected. I have curly hair and a lot of stylist struggle with cutting it. It really looks exactly like how I wanted! If you have curl hair I really recommend seeing julia!! read more
