Crispy chicken cutlet on a Caesar salad
    Meg C.

Cheese pizza was solid, the sauce was the highlight - a bit sweet and savory, and the dough was slightly fluffy with decent char. The small 12 inch was plenty for 2 people with a chicken caesar salad. The crispy chicken cutlet we added to the salad was a huge portion and was seasoned well and juicy. I liked the pickled red onions and the dressing was pretty good, but they did -not- mix it well, about half the romaine was coated in huge globs of dressing. We didn't finish the Caesar due to the globs of dressing. Cocktails were okay, but lacking in presentation and not worth the price point, it's nearly the same price as a small pizza. Service was good and the space is large and trendy, but the music was very loud, so it was hard to have a conversation. We tried paying the bill with the QR code on the check, which ended up stuck on a loading wheel, so we had to flag the server down to confirm it went through. Overall the food was pretty good, but next time I'd skip dining in and do pick up for a pizza and ask for salad dressing on the side. Parking in this plaza on a weekend is also hell on earth, so be prepared to do some circling around.

    Smallest pizza ever!

Good pizza! The last time i was here, the pizza was very small. I went again today and it was a good size. Great pizza!

Tried New York-style at John's and Joe's. Chicago deep dish at Giordano's. Finally got to try what is arguably the best pizza in America. New Haven-style Apizza. Thin charred crust. Perfect cheese to sauce ratio. It was everything I had hoped and wanted it to be. The oven cook looked like he took pride in the quality of pizza coming out of the oven. Took our pizza to go and at it in the car as we were headed to a bakery in Boston's Little Italy. But the place looked amazing inside and a wonderful place to dine in. I am only docking this review 1-star because at this particular location, the front counter person seemed miserable and projected that onto the customers.

Sally's is a good pizza restaurant with a modern decor. It's generally pretty busy during dinner time so I recommend making a reservation with OpenTable. A lot of the apps + drinks are pretty good. The wings and mozzarella sticks (mozzarella triangle) is pretty good. Any of the fresh tomatoes pie is my favorite pizza but the signature charred bottom on the pizza isn't my favorite so prepare for that.

Way more cheese than your typical Sally's Apizza. Heavy heavy heavy !

First off I'll say I've been to NH Sally's a dozen times and it's phenomenal. Been here to Woburn Sally's 6 times now and there is NO comparison. None whatsoever. But Woburn is usually decent. Not great but decent. If you go here thinking you'll get the true Sally's Apizza it ain't going to happen. Go to NH. Went to Sally's Woburn for lunch Dec 31. Waited a few minutes for the hostess to come over. When we asked for a booth, we were told "sorry we don't have any clean booths right now". Imagine telling your customers that? So we walked by several clean and ready booths by the door and were seated in a back corner table. Looking around the dining room we did notice 4 other booths that were filthy. Wait staff walking all around, a manager on a laptop sitting alone in a clean booth and all completely ignoring the dirty booths. The place was very slow and quiet so not sure why tables were dirty. Also not sure why we couldn't sit in the several clean booths. They had a quiet dining room and plenty of staff available. The server took a long time to acknowledge us. When she finally did, she took our drink order and disappeared again. When she finally came back, she took our appetizer order and disappeared. This was the theme of the afternoon. Constantly disappearing and leaving us looking for her. Again, it was a quiet afternoon here - there was no need for this.  We finally got our drinks and appetizers and sat there for a long time, without service, with a table filled with dirty dishes and empty glasses. When she finally came back to take our pizza order, she didn't clear a single plate. It was honestly gross, the table needed to be cleared and she didn't take one single cup or dish or silverware away during our lunch. We even pushed everything to the corner of the table and she never took the hint. Nor did she ask if we wanted anything else to drink. She just simply did not care.  When our pizza finally came, it was practically soup. The amount of sauce made your normally crisp pizza soft and floppy. No one else's looked this way and we've never had this experience. Weird again considering it was quiet. Again, our waitress had disappeared so we spent 10 minutes waiting to tell her our pizza wasn't good. She finally acknowledged it, took the pizza and said she'd have the kitchen remake it. The replacement pizza got to us way too fast. It was very clearly a deliberate "oh you think this is too much sauce? Here's too much cheese." My Gf didn't bother trying it because it was so cheesy. I took two bites and put it down, cheesy and undercooked.  By this time, we had given up. Our server didn't care, the kitchen didn't care and we were just so disappointed we wanted to leave. We had to physically flag her down and when she came over, said she'd take it off the bill and that was that. No manager came over to talk to us about this, nothing. I've never had a restaurant crew care so little.  We paid and when we were leaving we noticed a woman sitting at one of the front clean booths on her laptop. She had been there the entire time we were there. I asked the hostess if it was the manager, she laughed and said yes. I told her to tell her she should probably get back to her job because quite frankly our experience was so bad if it had been our first time there, we'd never go back. I think if we go back we will stick with dinner time service at the bar. We usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are always on their game and we always see involved managers on the night team. Lunchtime crew, including the young female manager who didn't appear to be working all need some serious talking to.

To still be suffering is stupid after all of this time New Haven Original Clam Pie and Italian Style Wings from #sallyspizza
    Mojo S.

White clam pie? Shiznit, ginger, that's all you had to say... To say that New Haven Style pie is my favorite style pie doesn't give enough credit to how much I like the style. To me the only top pies on the country have to be New Haven style; anything else is just second-rate--including New York and Chicago. And to be the elite of the elite it has to be white clam pie. If you can't do that right, you have no business doing New Haven style pizza. And Sally's does amazing white clam pie. I daresay they're elite at it.

Cheese pizza with pepperoni and sausage

I went here a couple weeks ago and got the lunch special cheese pizza with pepperoni and sausage ! It was absolutely delicious and one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten! The crust on the New Haven style pizza is a little charred! I love it!!

this is one of my favorite pizzas ever. however, if you're going to order here, I highly suggest dining in as take out is just not the same. Make a reservation for weekend nights or expect a long wait. By far one of the best pizzas I've had and it is consistently always very good, I've never had a bad experience here. Also, highly recommend the arancini which is very very good as well. Service is always great just expect a little bit of a wait on the pizzas but it's worth it!

    Broccolini
    Jungwon K.

this pizza gave me back my spark :') we went for an early dinner and the restaurant was basically empty. we got the broccolini and the house salad to start. the broccolini was charred perfectly and the sauce that came with it was so delicious that we saved some to dip the pizza in. the salad was so large, it felt like a whole entree on its own. it did have some raw mushrooms so I wish the menu said they would be raw and not cooked. the dressing on it was nice and light. the pizza!!!!!!!!! it was the star of the meal!! the waitress suggested we get the large for two people to share but it was ginormous. we measured and it was about 18 inches in diameter, so it can definitely feed more than 2 people. the potato slices were so good and the rosemary gave it such a nice fragrance. we added sausage to it too. we had so many leftovers from this meal so it'll feed you for another few days. the crust didn't get soggy even after reheating! the restaurant has a really cute vibe and saw they had a frozen marg machine so I can't wait to come back during the summer to try those out!

Golden Standard cheese pizza!! Simply Fantastic!!

I've been watching Dave Portnoy do his Pizza reviews for years now and finally I visited Sally's a pizza and it is 100% spot on the best pizza I've ever ate 9.5 on my scale. I will eat here every time I come to Boston or to New Haven near the original location !! Absolute must to check out the ambience and service at this new location, (which is only been around a year and a half) is awesome great vibes and incredible pizza. Also, the meatballs were probably the best meatballs I've ever had in my life as well, and being from an Italian family...Mom's gonna be upset with that statement but oh well I'll bring her something to try.

Is it easy to get parking?

It can be very difficult to get a parking spot near Sally Apizza during the more popular hours. The lot is confusing and it is hard to walk the maze if you park further away. However, the pizza is worth it!

I don't typically eat veal, and this cutlet was perfectly balanced - rich, savory, crispy, with a pleasant (but not overwhelming) salty kick from the prosciutto and parmigiano reggiano. We also ordered the spicy broccolini, which I highly recommend for the garlic lovers out there. For dessert we had the dark cherry (amarena?) gelato, which was delicious and creamy, with the perfect amount of sweetness. We shared each dish, and it was certainly plenty of food for the two of us. Prices felt reasonable for the amount and quality of what we ordered (all of the above + 2 drinks from the bar totaled approx. $160 pre-tip). The restaurant space itself is relatively small but has enough space to move around comfortably, which made it cozy without ever getting too loud (it was a pretty full house when we went), with a balanced dim lighting. Additionally, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the server patiently walked us through the menu and shared suggestions at our request. On a personal note I am especially appreciative of the staff, as I accidentally left without my hat, and the restaurant responded almost immediately to the message I sent through the restaurant website that same evening. Tl;dr - great menu, rich & hearty but balanced ingredients/recipes, and comfortable vibe. One really gets the impression that the husband/wife owners had a specific vision that they successfully brought into reality.

The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, so it's a great place for date night. The Fantastic: 1. Service -- our waiter was amazing, he took great care of us. We wanted for nothing! 2. Tortellini Alla Norcina -- this was delish. It was creamy, a little funky, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. 3. Cacio e Pepe -- also delish. 4. Mussels -- perfectly cooked, big and plump, and the bread to sop up the broth was also yummy. The plates are beautiful, but I think that plating and presentation takes priority over the food sometimes: 1. Bruschetta -- this was supposed to come with a balsamic drizzle, but it was served on a wooden plate and the drizzle was tiny and thin, so there wasn't really any balsamic. The dish could have used it to help cut through the cheese. 2. Bombolone -- dry, there was not a lot of custard in the pastry, and the surrounding sauces were more decorative than helpful. We did not enjoy the mixed drinks, they were all on the sour side and watery. So I would stick with wine or beer, the wine we had was excellent. Overall, we had a really nice time and would return.

The Burrata is a very good dish with cherry tomatoes, basil, garlic oil, aged balsamic, and grilled ciabatta. Even knowing burrata is an expensive ingredient, the price feels high for what you get. One of my go‑to entrées is the Rigatoni alla Bolognese, which is consistently satisfying whether ordered traditional or oven baked with fresh ricotta. One thing regulars will notice is that Sogno tends to rotate many fan favorites off the menu. Servers openly acknowledge that guests ask for certain dishes to return, but they also explain that the chef and owner decide what stays and what goes. It can be frustrating when a great dish disappears without warning. Another thing worth mentioning: Sogno often features live music. If that is not your thing, make sure to request a table as far away from the performance area as possible because the sound carries and can make conversation difficult. Lastly, although the owner also owns the building, he has a habit of parking his four‑door Mercedes wherever he wants rather than in an actual parking spot. It comes across as pretentious and unnecessary. If I were to park where he does, I am sure I would be towed. Sogno has a lot going for it: strong food, a fun atmosphere, and a polished dining room, however; a few quirks are worth knowing before you go.

We have two little picky eaters and needed convenience, access to parking, and spacious and friendly for toddlers. We thoroughly enjoy Ciao Amici and have been going pretty regularly for the last 2 years. Our usual are the meatballs and carbonara for the kids. For awhile, it was the only way I could get my youngest to eat any protein. It is tender and has the right amount of spices for my youngest to gobble up. Lastly, my oldest has recently become obsessed with their sauteed mussels and I literally have to negotiate with her to let me eat one. I love the saffron garlic white wine sauce, it is very garlicy and goes so well with the warm bread that they give you. My husband and I have tried a lot of their pasta and seafood with risotto dishes. Recently he has also ventured into their main dishes and still enjoyed it. Overall, great flavors, pasta is al dente, and the perfect portion where you don't feel overly stuffed by the end of the meal. We've tried a few of the places in the North End, and I would say Ciao Amici definitely is on par if not better than some of the places in the North End, plus they have a small parking lot that we've always had access to. My personal favorites are the Spaghetti Shrimp Scampi and Haddock e Risotto. The servers are always attentive and considerate. The -1 star comes from the pace of service. We usually go on the early side and don't have trouble but the few times we've gone when it was a bit busier, we noticed that the food can take awhile to come out and although I am confident everyone is working hard, they may not always be staffed appropriately when t's busy. Lastly, we did order a salad once and it was definitely no frills, but that was exactly how it was stated on the menu. I would not go there for the salad.

However, the bartender at another place said that it would be the place he would go, and I've learned that the recommendation of a bartender is worth more than any amount of reviews on Yelp. We showed up just at opening, sans reservations, on a Saturday evening (12/7). There was already a line at the door, which is a good sign about the food, but we wondered if we would be able to get a table. The fear was unfounded, as the hostess graciously showed us to a table and dropped menus. Our server, Christina, took our drink order, and was very apologetic that they didn't have onions for Bestie's gibson. No worries - olives work just as well. She came back with our cocktails, recited the specials, and we asked her to give us time to enjoy our drinks; we'd flag her down when we were ready to order. The menu is a great selection of Italian cuisine, balanced with a few standards. We took our time with our cocktails (the martinis were perfect, by the way) and Christina came right over when asked her about wines. She apologized for us not having a wine list, and returned immediately with one (some excellent bottles in their cellar, and a great selection by the glass). Bestie decided right away on the Shrimp Gran Manier [sic], egg-battered shrimp in an orange-flavored sauce, as an appetizer. I fell in love with the Melazana, breaded eggplant with marinara and cheese, covered in a creamy pesto sauce. For entrees, I picked a simple sauteed chicken, covered with prosciutto and cheese, while the rack of lamb caught her fancy. Christina came right over when we were ready to order, and congratulated us on our choices. We were able to watch the kitchen as they worked. Both of us, having a lot of experience in the industry, marveled at how well the staff worked together in the tiny space. It wasn't long before our appetizers arrived, and they were as delicious as they sounded on the menu. As soon as Christina cleared the empty plates away, she returned immediately with our entrees (which we saw were plated just as she headed to the kitchen area). Bestie's lamb was perfect. She had a choice of two sides, and she picked an herbed polenta and grilled vegetables. I accompanied my chicken with a gratin of potatoes, and sauteed spinach with garlic. We took our obligatory pictures and dug in. Needless to say, there was no conversation while we ate, with the food taking all of our attention. Bestie's lamb was cooked perfectly, with a generous portion, My chicken was flavorful, with the right balance between the sauce and the meat (I have a love/hate relationship with cheese - I like a lot of it, but not when it overpowers what's under it). To finish things off, we ordered coffee and cannolis, something light to balance the richness of the dinner. Both were delicious. When it came time to settle our check, Christina was right over. I am so glad that we listened to the bartender and not the reviews. Our experience here was the highlight of our weekend in this area.
