Always looking for new places to try and Jack's did not disappoint! Caramelized onions is not a common topping offering so I took advantage of it, and I'm glad I did. Pizza is delicious! Just wish you were able to order double of toppings and that they would actually spread the toppings around the pizza because the onions come clumped on just 2 to 3 pieces. And if you have a sweet tooth, you absolutely positively MUST get the Banoffee Pie! I basically order dinner from Jack's just to get this pie haha! Great pizza, great drinks! It wasn't super crowded on this particular Saturday night, as the service was very efficient. Their menu has a variety of options other than pizza, such as plenty of appetizers and meat/seafood dishes. But of course we had to go with the pizza! Since it is coal fired, I expected it to be slightly black on the edges (which I don't prefer) but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't, yet still crispy and brown. The cheese and basil tasted very fresh, and the gluten free dough was excellent. It is a good sized GF pizza; 12 inch I believe, as many places only offer it in a smaller size. Super disappointed with a pizza spot that Dave Portnoy gave an 8 to. I wanted crispy coal fired pizza but instead ended up with a doughy, undercooked pizza. The toppings were good though, I will say that. The meatball appetizer was not great. The sauce was bland and bright red. No body to it. A good meatball will fall apart if you try to cut it. These were rock solid. I think they make these as cheaply as possible. Reminded me of a Subway meatball, which is the worst you can get. The staff was pleasant. Nothing above the ordinary. Jack's just isn't as good if you aren't sitting down in the restaurant itself. There is something about it where it needs to be piping hot in order to be at its best. But thankfully, Jack's thrives on the decor and ambiance inside. It's kind of speak-easyish when you walk in, in few ways does it feel like a pizza joint. But that's what they are known for and probably 90% of its customers are there to indulge in. The chairs are very cool looking, a throwback to say the 50s or 60s. Bright red with high backs to them. They have both high tops and low tops for families to enjoy like ours. And of course an almost always busy bar on the right as you walk in. The pizza is stellar with super fresh tomato sauce, cooked perfectly crispy as you want for a bit of a crunch. The truffle fries with chipotle aioli are superb. And to round out a quick meal, go with the Romaine salad. Just the right balance of parm pieces, bread crisps and a hint of anchovy. There is not much you can go wrong with here. I need to try out the drink menu sometime sans kids. But man are we all big fans. Dine-in like I said for the best pizza experience not to be missed in this general area. read more

First time here overall really good. I'll give Boston credit. Food/Drink: Pizza by the pie! Pretty good New York style brick oven pizza. Large amount of options and combos. Full Italian style menu, appetizers, entrees, pizza, soups, salads, and desserts! Pizza: Great crunch, Very flavorful, light in the toppings. Sauce was good not too sweet could have used a little more garlic. Dinning Area: Pretty large, open, area. Benches, large counter. Plenty of seating! The food was good! We had the lemon herb rubbed wings with a side of ranch (to die for!! Super herby and creamy!) and blue cheese (good but not too strong), the wings were great, could use a little more rub and lemon on them but they were so crispy and fresh I'd get them again! 2 pizzas as well. One was the carnivore, very filling but I wish the sausage was broken into smaller pieces instead of huge chunks and spread around more and perhaps thicker pepperoni, overall the flavor was pretty darn good. And we had the polpetta, the meat ball was absolutely delicious as was the creamy ricotta, the carmelized onion had a bit of a funk to it almost sour but still edible. During the last takeout phone order I did (because the online ordering doesnt allow certain modifications) . I ordered a piece of the dessert Banoffee Pie and the person responded "what? ... a side of fries?" I've been wanting to go to Jack's for a while now but am highly disappointed now that I have. The location is very nice, pleasant and airy. There are many tables and a loooong bar. It looks to be a nice place to hang out for snacks or have dinner. However, the pizza was poor. Given the name of the place, I was looking forward to a crunchy, thin, slightly charred pizza. Instead, I got a soft, thicker, dough-y pizza that showed no charring or heavily cooked parts at all. It could have come out of any of hundreds of pizza ovens in the region. The pizza tasted ok and the cheese was good but overall nothing special. I got a salami & pepperoni pizza but toppings were not very generous (for $20) and I'm not sure where the salami was hiding at all. I did try the fried mozzarella on the side and it was excellent. The hostess was very nice and efficient, running back & forth quickly to the kitchen to pick up various take-out pizzas. (It's a large place, so not a short walk for her!) She also chatted a bit in her spare moments and was good company. But, overall, this was a mediocre experience and I won't be returning. read more

Have been here a few times. Really liked the place as it is open and spacious. There is a long bar with seats and on the weekend it is always packed. Pizza has always been good and same with the appetizers. Joined another couple for a light and quick dinner. We were more focussed on our conversations than anything else. We did notice that some of the staff were interacting with customers very loudly and with inappropriate language. They must have known each other, but it was still inappropriate. Our waiter seemed to be annoyed that we only ordered some apps and a pizza with two rounds of drinks. We can hear on a recommendation from a friend on a Friday evening. No reservations, but we didn't need them. It was not busy at all on a Friday evening at 7 o'clock. I don't know if that's good or bad or just a fluke. The waitress was good, I think she was new. She asked lots of questions of us but she was super pleasant and sweet. We got a large pizza and a small pizza. The large one was a white pizza, and I don't actually remember which one it was but it was good. The small pizza was a standard fare red pizza with meat on it. It too was wrong and he had to make another one. We started to leave with the pizza he said he corrected and it too was wrong. We had to ask for plates, had to get our own salt and pepper off another table. By the time we left there was one person sitting and three waiting to sit. Unfortunately, due to the service, we will not be going back*** We, like the masses, decided to try Jack's because of the Barstool Pizza review. This must have been a rough service weekend due to the many reviews here, and while I try to give service members grace (my husband was a bartender for 15 years), the dark haired male bartender working on Friday, March 24th around 6 pm totally mishandled a situation. My husband put in an order for takeout for two pies and an order of wings on Friday afternoon, to be ready at 6:30 pm. Being that we were early, we decided to pop in for a drink while we waited for our food to be ready. We noticed there was quite a wait for tables, but there was some standing room around the bar. The patrons sitting at the bar seemed to mostly be dining and drinking, and there was a large party of young professionals seemingly grabbing a drink after work (I am unsure if they were dining there, but they were a very large group). It is important to note that they all were standing at the bar and all of them had drinks in hand. Red Flag 1: As soon as we found a space at the bar to stand, a couple next to us said, "Are you trying to get a drink?" When we responded "Yes," they replied, "Good luck!" with a laugh. They told us they had been waiting for a while to get their drinks refilled. Red Flag 2: The minutes start ticking- there seem to be about four people behind the bar, none of whom made their way to our end of the bar for at least five minutes. Red Flag 3: After about ten minutes of waiting, the dark haired male bartender makes his way to our side of the bar, takes the order of the couple to our right waiting for their refill drink and takes the order of the couple to our left who were waiting for their first drink. He makes eye contact with my husband who holds up his hand to say, "Us too!"- and then walks back to the other side of the bar. I jokingly say to my husband, "Oh I guess he can only make a couple drinks at once" and we have a good giggle. THE ULTIMATE RED FLAG: The server comes back and brings the two couples on either side of us drinks. He tries to then walk back away and my husband says, "Hey buddy can we get a few drinks?" He looks at us, annoyed, and says, "Yeah are you waiting for a table or just chilling?" Confused, my husband says, "Huh?" The server repeats himself, "Like are you just chilling at the bar or are you waiting on a table to sit down and eat with us?" My husband says, "Oh we're just looking to grab a couple of drinks." The server then says, "Oh I've got like five people waiting over there that I really need to get to so I can't grab you drinks right now." And walks back down to the other side of the bar. I have never in my 37 years of my life been denied a drink at a bar because the bartender was "too busy" serving other patrons. He was basically telling us that we were less important because we did not sit down to eat there (all the while we were taking our food out!). When I tell you the two couples we were in between looked at us like: "WHAT THE HELL!!??" I think everyone's jaws were on the floor, including each of ours. The real ridiculousness of it all is that my husband's order is a Bud Light and mine was a Titos and soda- two of the easiest drinks for a bartender to handle. He easily missed out on an extra $15 tab plus tip. This is just poor customer service. Implying that other customers are more important than another is not a good look. My husband and I reside in Melrose, which is a dry town. We cannot order a drink at a restaurant without ordering food. I know nothing of Burlington being the same way, nor was I able to find any policy on Jack's website regarding not serving customers who just want to grab a drink. If this were the case, why was there a big group next to us at the bar with drinks and no food? Do better, bartender. Needless to say, after this incident, we wanted to get out of there as fast as we could, but we had to wait for our pizza. Aforementioned we ordered our pizza to be ready at 6:30, but we didn't end up walking out of there with pizza in hand until 6:55. I want to give grace to Jack's that they simply were not prepared for the publicity after Barstool did their review, so the timing of pizza can be forgiven. However, I hope the manager, who we told what happened, does take service mistakes like this seriously, because this was not just poor customer service, it was downright rude. I hope for the pizza's sake that these kinks get worked out. We will not be going back to see if they do. read more

Jack's brings the taste I have been looking for. I haven't had as good of pizza in years. My favorite was/is Regina's 9.6 in the north end. Jack's to me is a great tasting pizza 9.4 delicious. Looking at the pizza when we picked it up we couldn't wait to take pictures. If your in the area stop in. If your not go there its worth the drive. We ordered a salad to start and a pizza that we wanted with half toppings half plain (cheese). The salad came and the pizza was served seconds after - and the order wasn't right. The whole pizza was with toppings when my hubby doesn't eat the toppings I ordered for my half. Our waitress was in the weeds and when she came back I let her know the order was wrong. She said that sometimes it just happens...it was clear my hubby was scraping off all the toppings... a little bit of an odd response but we understood she was extremely busy and overworked. The pizza was just okay, we expected coal fire to be crispy and it seemed like they took it out of the oven too fast as it had no "crunch". Banoffee pie was OK. There was SO much of a lag between getting things (check/boxes) which was a little frustrating as we were with our six month old son. It was also FREEZING. I haven't visited this place in person yet but have ordered through UberEats several times and absolutely love their pizza. I don't live very close to Burlington, so by the time our food is actually delivered it's often a bit cold, but even so it's totally worth it. The crust is excellent and the selection of specialty pizzas is, too. My favorite is the Forager's...if you like mushrooms, you really need to try this pizza. It's incredible. We also love their garlic cheese bread, and the Banoffi Pie was pretty good for dessert. This is definitely on my list for when I start going to restaurants in person again, but in the meantime, I'm so glad they're on UberEats. read more
