Read as 4.5 stars. Zucca has been on our list ever since we tried Half and Half next door - run by the same owners. Solid menu options for dinner and drinks. The highlight was the shrimp grand marnier - which was so good you may not want to share. Tried the bruschetta and eggplant rolatini as well for app. For dinner we ordered the clam linguine, penne ala vodka and bolognese - all the dishes were very good. Reasonable prices, attentive service. Restaurant is on the smaller more intimate side, recommend reservations for larger parties.

We had a reservation on a very busy Friday night. Table was not ready on time, we were offered a drink while we waited. Would have been nice if there were seats on the sidewalk. The resturaunt is small and cozy, situated on a corner. We had the eggplant rollatini and Cesar salad. Our waiter asked if we like surprises and he brought us two dishes of his choice. He did ask if we had allergies or food preferences. My husband had a generous lamb chop that he loved. I had fresh fusilli with summer vegetables in a plum tomato sauce. Everything was so good., fresh and flavorful. Looking forward to our next visit and trying the owners new breakfast place a few does down!

We just got back from here on a Saturday night. It is 630 reservation. We got there, and we're seated in a table for two literally in the aisle of the restaurant. If I turned my head, my ear hit the bar. So we asked to be moved. Lol. We were moved to a table by the window. Much more room for people to size like us. The waitress was nice. Took her a while to come over to get us drinks, but we ordered drinks and an appetizer of calamari to start. The drinks came right away. The calamari? About 15 minutes later. Happy was almost done with his drink at that time. She then asked what we wanted for meals and I ordered shrimp scampi and he got the veal Puccini. And that's where the fun kind of ended. It was so loud in the restaurant. And I get that it was a small restaurant, but the large table behind us, and the large table in front of us made it literally impossible for us to hear each other. we were seated promptly at 6:30. Our meals still hadn't come out at 7:50pm. I had to ask the waitress if she could check on them. She came back about 10 minutes later and told us that they were on their way out. We got them. Very ample portions on both meals. However, I don't actually think I got shrimp scampi. Both of us had asked for the fusilli on our meal which is homemade. The waitress did not tell us. It was an up charge, but knowing from other restaurants in the area, I was well aware they probably would be. Three dollars extra each meal? Not a big deal. And the food was amazing. My shrimp scampi? I would bet with any local book that they used Marsala wine instead of the white wine they were supposed to because the sauce in the bottom of my bowl was dark. I've never had a shrimp scampi that had dark sauce. It's white wine, garlic, lemon, and Parmesan cheese most of the time. I even questioned it from the waitress? And she said absolutely that it was. It had a sweet taste with a little lemony aftertaste. Not garlic in anyway. So, I will still stand on my ground to say it was not what I ordered. I will say the food was flavorful. It was a very large portion, with a lot of shrimp, and it was tasty. But it was not what I ordered. Would we go back?. I think if we were seated closer to the front of the restaurant where were there were tables of two all around and not large parties, it would be better and we be able to hear each other. A little bit more of an intimate setting. And I don't think we would go on a Saturday night. You can be the judge.

My wife and I made a reservation for a Saturday night and upon arrival were seated immediately. To…read morestart, we ordered a perfectly cooked octopus antipasti, followed by tortellini alla norcina, and for a secondi the vitello alla petroniana (we were debating between this pasta/secondi combination and the pasta bolognese/swordfish special - will have to come back to get these next time!). I don't typically eat veal, and this cutlet was perfectly balanced - rich, savory, crispy, with a pleasant (but not overwhelming) salty kick from the prosciutto and parmigiano reggiano. We also ordered the spicy broccolini, which I highly recommend for the garlic lovers out there. For dessert we had the dark cherry (amarena?) gelato, which was delicious and creamy, with the perfect amount of sweetness. We shared each dish, and it was certainly plenty of food for the two of us. Prices felt reasonable for the amount and quality of what we ordered (all of the above + 2 drinks from the bar totaled approx. $160 pre-tip). The restaurant space itself is relatively small but has enough space to move around comfortably, which made it cozy without ever getting too loud (it was a pretty full house when we went), with a balanced dim lighting. Additionally, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the server patiently walked us through the menu and shared suggestions at our request. On a personal note I am especially appreciative of the staff, as I accidentally left without my hat, and the restaurant responded almost immediately to the message I sent through the restaurant website that same evening. Tl;dr - great menu, rich & hearty but balanced ingredients/recipes, and comfortable vibe. One really gets the impression that the husband/wife owners had a specific vision that they successfully brought into reality.

The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, so it's a great place for date night. The Fantastic: 1. Service -- our waiter was amazing, he took great care of us. We wanted for nothing! 2. Tortellini Alla Norcina -- this was delish. It was creamy, a little funky, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. 3. Cacio e Pepe -- also delish. 4. Mussels -- perfectly cooked, big and plump, and the bread to sop up the broth was also yummy. The plates are beautiful, but I think that plating and presentation takes priority over the food sometimes: 1. Bruschetta -- this was supposed to come with a balsamic drizzle, but it was served on a wooden plate and the drizzle was tiny and thin, so there wasn't really any balsamic. The dish could have used it to help cut through the cheese. 2. Bombolone -- dry, there was not a lot of custard in the pastry, and the surrounding sauces were more decorative than helpful. We did not enjoy the mixed drinks, they were all on the sour side and watery. So I would stick with wine or beer, the wine we had was excellent. Overall, we had a really nice time and would return.

I don't understand some of the hate in the reviews. Looking for a nice restaurant while we were in…read morethe area, we almost passed on Tre Monte because of the negativity. However, the bartender at another place said that it would be the place he would go, and I've learned that the recommendation of a bartender is worth more than any amount of reviews on Yelp. We showed up just at opening, sans reservations, on a Saturday evening (12/7). There was already a line at the door, which is a good sign about the food, but we wondered if we would be able to get a table. The fear was unfounded, as the hostess graciously showed us to a table and dropped menus. Our server, Christina, took our drink order, and was very apologetic that they didn't have onions for Bestie's gibson. No worries - olives work just as well. She came back with our cocktails, recited the specials, and we asked her to give us time to enjoy our drinks; we'd flag her down when we were ready to order. The menu is a great selection of Italian cuisine, balanced with a few standards. We took our time with our cocktails (the martinis were perfect, by the way) and Christina came right over when asked her about wines. She apologized for us not having a wine list, and returned immediately with one (some excellent bottles in their cellar, and a great selection by the glass). Bestie decided right away on the Shrimp Gran Manier [sic], egg-battered shrimp in an orange-flavored sauce, as an appetizer. I fell in love with the Melazana, breaded eggplant with marinara and cheese, covered in a creamy pesto sauce. For entrees, I picked a simple sauteed chicken, covered with prosciutto and cheese, while the rack of lamb caught her fancy. Christina came right over when we were ready to order, and congratulated us on our choices. We were able to watch the kitchen as they worked. Both of us, having a lot of experience in the industry, marveled at how well the staff worked together in the tiny space. It wasn't long before our appetizers arrived, and they were as delicious as they sounded on the menu. As soon as Christina cleared the empty plates away, she returned immediately with our entrees (which we saw were plated just as she headed to the kitchen area). Bestie's lamb was perfect. She had a choice of two sides, and she picked an herbed polenta and grilled vegetables. I accompanied my chicken with a gratin of potatoes, and sauteed spinach with garlic. We took our obligatory pictures and dug in. Needless to say, there was no conversation while we ate, with the food taking all of our attention. Bestie's lamb was cooked perfectly, with a generous portion, My chicken was flavorful, with the right balance between the sauce and the meat (I have a love/hate relationship with cheese - I like a lot of it, but not when it overpowers what's under it). To finish things off, we ordered coffee and cannolis, something light to balance the richness of the dinner. Both were delicious. When it came time to settle our check, Christina was right over. I am so glad that we listened to the bartender and not the reviews. Our experience here was the highlight of our weekend in this area.
