It's a mushroom risotto that is perfectly prepared-thick enough to eat with a fork and not too sticky, topped with fresh salmon and a light cream sauce. Service was prompt, courteous, professional, and bussing service was readily available to keep water glasses filled, table cleaned, and conversation flowing (along with good wine). This is a good neighborhood spot for intimate gatherings or a business meeting where good food is a must. Highly recommended!

I made reservations to be seated out in the patio which was very cool as we were seating right by the window so we had a nice view and the patio had a nice cool vibe, casual but intimate, perfect for a summer night. Our server was Angelina, she was so sweet & pleasant. We both ordered a cocktail & both choice the minestrone soup as our appetizer ( it was DELICIOUS, served piping hot and a perfect starter)! I chose the Chef's Haddock , gf chose the Orecchiette pasta, both entrees were cooked perfectly, I ate all of mine, gf had to take most of hers home (which was fine with me so I could eat it the next day for lunch)! We truly enjoyed everything about Scopa and we will definitely be back soon & keep Scopa on our " Great Date Night Dinner List"!

The oysters were delicious, and the crab cake was probably my favorite of the starters. The meatball was interesting. It had pork and ground beef and was quite gamey, but it lacked the flavor I was expecting. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken broccoli Alfredo. Unfortunately, the chicken cutlet was pretty bland, and overall, the dish was just okay. I've definitely had better Italian meals. There were a few highlights, but overall, Scopa just didn't leave the impression I was hoping for on my first visit. Maybe I didn't order the right dishes, but based on this experience, I wouldn't be rushing back.

If you're looking for a special place for a date night or to celebrate a special occasion,…read moreArtichoke's is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant, and has a welcoming atmosphere. I recommend calling ahead to make a reservation. We didn't have one, but we arrived around 5:30 PM and were lucky to only wait about 15 minutes for a table. Most of the guests appeared to be adults dressed in business-casual attire, which added to the restaurant's upscale ambiance. The staff was friendly and attentive, although they were quite busy during our visit. The food was excellent, and the portions were generous. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and would gladly return.

Artichokes - Wakefield, MA's once-reliable staple is clearly in decline…read more Friday the 12th was an absolute disaster from start to finish. My wife and I waited an hour and a half just to receive our entrées. No exaggeration. By the time the food finally arrived, we were forced to box it up and leave immediately because we had to pick up our son from a 6-8 after-school parent night at the Doyle School. Paying full price to eat dinner as rushed take-out after that kind of wait is unacceptable. It somehow gets worse. I called Friday night and spoke directly with a manager. I was told I would receive a call back Saturday the 13th. Instead, we were ignored. When we followed up Saturday, the host brushed us off with "the manager is busy," and that was the end of it. No return call. No accountability. No effort. Now let's talk about the food. This was the veal chop "special." What arrived was severely undercooked -- glossy, raw-pink, and unsafe. This wasn't a preference issue or "chef's temperature." It was not properly cooked. I ultimately threw it directly in the trash after putting my son to bed. That says everything. Looking at recent Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews, it's clear this isn't an isolated incident. What may have once been a Wakefield staple is now riding on reputation alone -- and that reputation no longer matches reality. We were recommended Artichokes by a dear friend who remembered how good it used to be. "Was" is the key word. Long waits. Poor food execution. Zero follow-up from management. Failure on nearly every level. Great job, Artichokes -- this was a complete disappointment.

That is a very difficult dish to get right. It wasn't soggy and the spices were subtle but just right. Everyone had seafood at our table except for one person who is a vegetarian and he really liked his dish. I would only say that they need more vegetarian choices. That and the music was too loud and not relaxing. I did ask the server to turn it down a bit so we could have a conversation and she did so. So all is forgiven; but the owner(s) should be aware of the fact that loud inappropriate music for a Sunday early evening dining experience is not going to be received very well for the actual clientele they are serving. All in all, this is a great place to dine.

We ordered martinis from the celebrity bartender, mine a pumpkin martini, and then ordered food. I always try to order what a restaurant is known for so under "House Seafood Specialities", I went with the mussels and calamari over homemade fusilli 'Giacomo style' (lobster based red sauce with a touch of béchamel) absolutely delicious with a generous portion of seafood and pasta plus so reasonably priced at $25!! It was very loud so it was tough to catch up with friends but it made me so happy to see such a big turnout for such an important cause! We're already planning another dinner here soon!
