I always try to order what a restaurant is known for so under "House Seafood Specialities", I went with the mussels and calamari over homemade fusilli 'Giacomo style' (lobster based red sauce with a touch of béchamel) absolutely delicious with a generous portion of seafood and pasta plus so reasonably priced at $25!! She was patient and kind and took the time to understand what we needed. We ordered cocktails... because tonight was the last night I could before I re-start chemotherapy. Both my father and I ordered the Sangria ($14.00) ... And it was *amazing*. Honestly, it was the best I've had since my best friend and I drank together at a Flamenco restaurant in Montreal in June of 1985. My mother ordered the house dry red wine ($10.00) I didn't taste it and she didn't mention whether it was good or not. We ordered one Ceasar Salad ($10.00) and it was both really generous and incredibly delicious (see photo). My parents and I split it three was and it was plenty. The tang of the dressing really worked against the sardines and garlic. I'd definitely go back for more of that!! For dinner, my mother ordered the beef special.... Beef Braciole ($33.00) in an epic sauce. She loved it... but definitely could not finish it!! She brought the leftovers home (as did my father and I). My father ordered the Veal parmigiana ($29.99) and it was a massive, almost overwhelming plate of food (photo attached). He loved it (as did I when I tasted it!). For me?? Deep, rich flavor with mushrooms, bacon, shallots, and tender chunks of chicken. The noodles we all ordered were the home made & hand-made fusilli that are produced in-house. I think that if a chef is going to spend the time necessary to make noodles, you should savor them... and that's what we did. Suzanne offered us a chance at dessert, but we declined, since we knew that if any of us ate a bite more, we would hit critical mass and destroy at least the surrounding block. The only weak point we encountered was the bread. It was weak, drab, and lacking in taste and character. They could do much better on that. Our bill, with taxes, was $162.62. With tip, it came to $195. Totally worth it!

When you think waterfront you immediately think fresh & vibrant with menu items that deliver that wow factor! While the menu looks promising, the execution certainly needs work. Let's start off with the small plates, Mila's meatballs. Our meatballs came before our dinks! Wicked fast! Sadly they were lackluster. Dense , a bit cold & grey in the center & lacked that glorious soft texture to the point where I questioned if they were made fresh. I was told they were! A good meatball is a perfect balance of flavor, texture, and juiciness and theirs didn't! The whipped ricotta was quite nice as well as the marinade was seasoned well. Pulled pork Poutine Excited about it being presented in a cast iron skillet. But the pork was so incredibly salty and the tater tots were definitely store bought. Cheese was melted nicely and that added nutmeg gave it a nice kick. While the seasoning was good, the salt was so dominating you couldn't taste much of anything else. Giannone Chicken Chicken & potatoes with a mushroom sauce. That's it!! An overtly basic dish serving one breast & wing sitting on a huge bed of oven roasted potatoes. Lacking any profound seasoning with some of the potatoes being undercooked. For $27 I was expecting a whole lot more. Some acidity, some spice or maybe a vegetable of some sort Our cocktails while tasty were mostly ice and were also quite pricy. I understand given the location the prices are to scale but not to this extent where our drinks were only a few small sips. I had such high expectations of this new waterfront eatery. And I still do. Hoping they make the necessary changes and execute better in the future. I'm certainly rooting for them.
