We love Sabatino's! The food is excellent, and they have a large menu encompassing traditional favs (like chicken ziti & broccoli, chicken parm, ravioli, etc.), some really unique dishes, and old school dishes like bracciole, tripe, and calamari sauce -- each of which remind me so much of childhood dinners with my Papa. Their house salad is to die for -- literally the best Italian dressing I've ever had, and always poured generously over crisp iceberg and cold, crunchy veggies with a healthy sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. Other standouts in the menu include the broccoli margarita and shrimp grand marnier appetizer and the zingarella specialty pasta dish. Every time we go, everything leaving the kitchen looks delicious and fresh. Service is consistently good and drinks are made very well. It gets very busy on weekends, so try to go for lunch or on a weeknight to ensure your meal is piping hot. Otherwise, we have found, sometimes dishes are sometimes served a little on the tepid side. We have dined here twice. We gave it a second chance. The ambiance is very nice. The staff is very efficient and on the ball. Two things I would note: the over abundance of cheese the chef uses in the Italian Wedding Soup. Give the guest a chance to put the amount of cheese they like. I was also looking forward to the Cacio e Pepe and, again, the amount of cheese used was overwhelming and the amount of pepper! I know that's the name of the dish, but let there be a happy medium. So much cheese that it looked curdled. Ick. The chicken francese, yup, too much black pepper! Why pepper? Put more lemon in the dish. The heavy handedness with the pepper and cheese on several dishes we ordered makes us second guess if we should give it a third try. read more

Went to Sabatino's Restaurant in Wakefield the other day. We had tried another restaurant in the area and thought we would try it out. It is very nice inside although really noisy from the bar area. We sat down and our server came to ask us about drinks. Ordered an Apple Martini. Martini came. Was very generous and not short poured like many others. Anyone who knows me knows I get very annoyed when a glass is not full. Water and bread came. Bread was delicious...almost like velvet interior and came with butter unlike most restaurants. I ordered....wait for it....Chicken Limone. My husband Chicken Parmesan. I asked for penne with red sauce on a separate plate and received penne under the chicken with lemon sauce. Another person brought it and before I could mention it wasn't correct, they were gone. Hubby's Parmesan had VERY LITTLE cheese, so I'm not sure you could call it Parmesan. I tried to flag down my server but had trouble. Finally, she came over and I told her about the penne which she corrected right away. Just a comment, the same server that took your order should be bringing it to you, because if somethings wrong they can correct it right away. I will say the chicken was very tender. They only thing I personally didn't care for is it had too much thyme in it. Thyme is a pretty powerful herb and in something like a lemon dish can take over. For me, it did. But, I did tolerate it and ate all the chicken. The red sauce on the pasta was not my favorite but I do prefer chunky style pasta sauce with lots of wine so its just a preference. Hubby said his chicken was overall good but did have some tough spots. He wasn't crazy for the sauce either. All in all, it was OK, but I wouldn't put it on my repeat list. read more

I stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner after walking the lake and overall glad that I did. There was actually a decent amount of people inside for 3:30 p.m. so I can imagine they get very busy during dinner service. Atmosphere was a bit loud but overall good. My waitress was attentive enough without being over-bearing. She brought drinks and bread over quickly; the martini was PERFECT however the bread was just okay. The bread would have been better if it was served warm but that's fine. I ordered the fettuccini alfredo with chicken and broccoli. It was a decent size portion and everything was cooked well although the chicken was a little bland. Their alfredo sauce had good flavor without being too heavy, and I think they added the perfect amount of sauce to the dish. We recently had a Baby Sprinkle luncheon party for my youngest daughter at Sabatinos. We were treated like family. Our waitress, Joanna and our bartender, Joe were very attentive and made sure all 14 women were happy with our meals. The food was delicious and the lunch menu choices had something for everyone. The lunch size entrees were just the right size. We highly recommend this restaurant for large family gatherings as well a nice cozy dinners with friends. We came here on a Friday night, Jan 2021. A reservation was not required, the place was packed, and we only waited about 5 minutes for a high top table at the bar. The host who seated us was very down to earth and pleasant to talk to. Sabatino's has a very upbeat and eclectic atmosphere on a friday night. It's cozy and snug and the two bartenders were very attentive and funny. This restaurant has delicious Italian fare very similar to Jevellis in East Boston. We ordered wine, calamari, antipasto, and shrimp fettuccini alfredo. Every dish was amazing and I licked all the plates afterwards. Will be back soon. read more

We ordered take-out and everything came steaming hot. The lasagna and veal parmigiana were delicious which my husband and I ordered to split so we could each have some of both. My half was enough for three meals for me. The lasagna was even better heated up the next day for lunch and then again for supper. Never ever order takeout here. This is the SECOND time they forgot to put in my order when I called at lunchtime. The first time was about 8 months ago. It took me this long to give them another try. When I arrived 20 minutes later, the waitress/hostess declared that she forgot to put in my order and that it would be 15 minutes. When I said I couldn't wait and began walking out she became incredulous saying that she "just made a mistake" because "it got busy." Yet, when I arrived she was sitting at a table doing roll-ups. I was of course annoyed that I now had no lunch, and normally would not even write a review (this is the first review I have ever left for any business) as I understand mistakes happen, but this being the second time this occurred and the hostess/waitress being defensive and incredulous that i could not wait 15 minutes for the order is just unacceptable. I placed the order around 1:00 pm on a Thursday (a work day). I could not wait because I had a work meeting to attend, which working the lunch shift at a restaurant during the work week should not be a foreign concept to her. Her reaction coupled with this being the second time this happened leads me to believe this is a systems/operational issue. Do better Sabatino's. It's incredibly dark and an older (+children) crowd, so I wouldn't recommend this as a date spot for people in their 20s. The food was okay, but I didn't love my meal (seafood risotto), and wouldn't get it again. First time eating here tonight. A friend and I just finished walking around the lake and dropped by for a bite to eat. Around 830pm, outdoor seating, Saturday night, 80 degree weather. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat us outdoors. My friend is vegetarian and they were able to accommodate her. Waitress was informative, patient, and checked in periodically to make sure we were doing well. Let me tell you, on top of the great service was the food! I had shrimp scampi with angel hair, my friend had fusilli garlic oil sauce with broccoli and spinach, and for appetizer, caprese salad. Delicious! Absolutely floored with the flavor infused dishes! Portions were of generous size too! I know it's crazy times with covid now, but the restaurant was clean and workers wearing masks. Hand sanitizer available, clean bathrooms. I appreciated the wiping down of tables and efforts to keep everyone distanced outdoors. Am happy to support restaurants like this! There were a lot of regulars here, and I can see why. If there were half stars, I would give Sabatino's 3 1/2. I went to Sabatino's the other evening. Ordered the Chicken Matrigiana. Never heard of this meal before, but it sounded good: chicken sauteed with bacon, minced onions, and a hint of spice finished with a marinara sauce tossed with homemade fusilli for $24.99 (price as of this writing). I never ate it before so I didn't know what to expect. The meal tasted sour to me, but maybe it was all of the spices added. Seriously, I make a better marinara sauce at home. The chicken was horrible. I think it was frozen, defrosted, and cooked. It just wasn't good. And it was tough, too. I didn't finish the meal, and thought maybe if I take it home, it could taste better the next day. (it didn't) The waitress was nowhere to be found, so I asked the busboy (who was an amazing employee) for a take-out container. I never got my water glass refilled. The good: The bread and the salad were both good. The ambience was clean and decent except I'm not a fan of TVs when I go out to eat unless I'm at a sports bar or bar-type restaurant and I thought Sabatino's was supposed to be a nicer restaurant. I guess I was wrong. I gave it 3 stars because I think it was what I ordered and am hoping that the other meals are better. If you go, don't order the Chicken Martigiana. read more

Terrible customer service. 3 couples dined here last Saturday, we arrived at 6:15pm. We ordered bottles of wine, beers & appetizers. Next we ordered salads, more wine, and each of us ordered a main meal. After dinner we ordered dessert and drinks. We we're clearly out for an evening, enjoying friends & spending lots of money! I was introduced to Steak Tips on my first visit and it became my go to dish for dinner. This visit we came in for lunch. Service: not sure if we had a green waitress but it started the night off on a weird note. She didn't know the menu and asked to see it so she could write down our orders. Forgot my partners drink. Then took away all of the silverware before our main dish came out. She seemed a bit flustered but not enough worry to sit down maskless at the table of regulars. Food: food was overall just ok and lacked seasoning. Nothing was too off but we could make a better meal at home. I asked for a medium rare steak and it came out so overdone it had the texture of sawdust. Ambiance: the setup outside is nice especially with the tables and lighting. What ruined it for us was the table of 4 regulars who sat outside at the end and who shouted obscenities and were loud. We asked for our check after they started shouting anti Black Lives Matter and slurs about lgbtq. And before you ask why we didn't complain, the owner came out and chatted with them as they are friends. We just decided to remove ourselves from the situation. We were told 20-30 mins and after an hour and a half they said "sorry" and that a table will be open "momentarily". We waited 20 more mins and left. We saw the people at the two tables that the hostess said were the only tables they could seat people at (because of all the reservations they had). The people did not look close to being done. They never gave us a heads up that it would be longer and my 5 year old was hungry so it was really disappointing. They made us feel like they could care less if we were there. It's too bad. My first time here tonight with my bestfriend. I was looking forward to it as I'd never been and my bestfriend loves it there and I love Italian food. We get there, it takes 10 minutes for a host to see us. Then we're seated after about 20 minutes. The couple next to us left and complained to the wait staff that we had been sitting there for 40 minutes and didn't even get drinks. The waitress was uninterested and inattentive. The entire process took over 3 hours and it got to the point my bestfriend brought the slip and card to the bar and asked her to please cash us out so we could tip and leave. Awful! Ordered take out, they didn't put the cover on and all sauce leaked all over my car and my daughters coat. I went back in and they gave me the same food that leaked all over the bag.
