The food and drinks were delicious, but the service sucked. We sat at the bar, all of the tables were empty. Very hard to get another drink and we waited 40 minutes to get the check while staff talked in the back. To top it off, the owner was sitting at the bar watching TV the whole time, seemingly oblivious to what was going on. Food is always good here and their Margarita pizza is excellent. The primary bartender is often terrible and takes an extremely long time to even acknowledge you when you sit at the bar. Shout out to PV. Website says open until 9:30. Had a kid's event and this place was fortunately still open. We rolled in at 8:45. No customers were in but us (bc really, peeps don't eat that late (this was a Tuesday). Some lights were on and it almost looked like they were settling up to call it a night. We were greeted immediately and given a table. The server seemed a bit surprised (maybe annoyed or tired from a long day. Not their fault, we are all human) that we rolled in essentially right before they were about to close, but they jumped right into serving us. We got linguine and clams, and the bolognese. Food was so good! I offered to settle the check right when food got to the table so they could close us out and move on with their night but they weren't having it. service was fine, waitress and bartender both went above and beyond to make our lunch enjoyable. although I take some of the blame for not checking lunch prices .. but on their web site I didn't see any prices .from now on I'll check deeper and maybe call the restaurant.. the lunch prices were more like dinner prices. they did not offer any at a reasonable price. perhaps offering a few sandwiches for $15.00 would have helped but $22.00 too much. One of my favorite Italian Restaurants. This is a family run restaurant, I've been eating here since the late 1980's and you can call it authentic Italian. You can take family from Italy there and not worry, it's that good. The fish specials are always fresh and delicious, it's my default meal. The house antipasto is worth the trip all by itself. The food is ok and it is just a neighborhood restaurant, but the service is the worst I have ever I countered, I went New Year's Eve , reserved 2 seats at the bar which was not full at 7pm . Ordered appetizers and the main dish at 710pm. I noticed as time went on , people who came in later being served food. At 830 pm I complained to the owner about my service,- he apologized and went into the kitchen and grabbed my food, I was starving and was ready to go home. After recently returning from Italy, we have been looking for a true Italian restaurant. This place had a lot of the feel and flavor that brought us back! The prosecco was very dry and tasty! The Mediterranean salad was perfectly dressed and a large portion. The linguine alle vongole was so well done we cleaned the plate, it was over flowing with clams and the white wine sauce was light and well seasoned! The rigatoni was a big portion with a flavorful sauce. We were a bit late for dinner and not much of a crowd in there, but service was still really friendly, quick to pull empty dishes, and welcoming. A must try place if you're in the area. read more

If you plan on coming here, make sure you're ready to be there 2+ hours. Oh, and don't forget your ID! I came here on a weeknight with a friend. My ID was in the diaper bag at home. I'm in my 30's, so didn't think it was a big deal. Wasn't allowed to have a drink since they card EVERYONE (or so the 50 signs in the restaurant say...). That's fine, no big deal on saving calories for the meal instead. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, so we figured we'd be in and out pretty quick. Was told we HAD to put our apps and food order in altogether because there was only one person working in the kitchen... there was no exception. We got our food after an hour of being there. Once ready for the check, it took another 20 minutes for our waitress to return with it after requesting it. It wasn't a good experience, and will not be coming back. It's a shame, because the food was average and we would've given it another shot if we were treated a bit better. read more

We have lived nearly across the road from this place for over 10 years and just recently noticed it. Keep saying we have to check it out. Well let me tell you, we enter the restaurant and there was a very well dressed gentleman escorting an older woman out after her dinning experience. (Turns out it was the owner Luigi) we were thinking wow what a great host at the time and he is a great host. He sat us and we were quickly served by Keira who was totally on her game as much as Luigi. The staff presence was awesome always tending to us like topping off my water without cue or refreshing utensils. So we ordered an appitizer of a serloin meatball (huge btw) and Luigi came and cut it in half and served it to us with some classy finesse. Aside from the so far fantastic presentation the meatball was also fantastic! So my fiance and I both order the fillet, hers med, mine well. Both cooked perfectly and better than most steak houses no exaggeration. After the meal keira came and asked us what our names were and we have never had a waitress ask us this before and oddly enough her mothers name lea is pronounced the same as my fiances name leah......so after they get done saying how interesting that coincidence was i told her my name and turns out her fathers name is jim also...so maybe not a big deal to whoever is reading this but we were all definitly blown away by the odds of something like this happening... Yeah so needless to say we will be back and I have to highly recommend this place to anyone who wants the real deal from service to food we were super impressed! Thank you guys!! read more

Ponte Vecchio is absolutely the best Italian restaurant for reasonably priced, excellent food. Luigi, the charming and sophisticated owner, welcomes you and directs a well trained service staff to meet your every dining need. The menu is wide and varied, but not overwhelming. The whole-fish dish varies by the day, and is delivered on a serving cart. It is then skinned, de-boned and served to you in the most elegant of fashions. The linguine with white clam sauce is superb. Typically, we allow Luigi to advise our dinner selections. We often have a beautiful soup, split an arugula salad followed by an entree that we may also split. The entrees are not huge, but I if ordered as above provide two diners with an ample dinner without feeling over fed. The wine list is fabulous and has a number of both still and sparkling wines in the $50 range. I could continue to offer accolades, but my finger is getting tired. Quite simply, we return to Ponte Vecchio because Luigi provides a pleasant and welcoming dining ambiance with an outstanding and reasonably priced menu offerings. I Sat at the bar and waited over 5 minutes to be waited on on a sat night, a little after 9:00 pm. Considering there were only 4 other people at the bar, I thought it was a little excessive. I ordered an appetizer portion of sea scallops and a glass of Prosecco. The Prosecco came right out, and I was offered some bread to which I accepted, and it was a good thing I did! After about 15 more mins, the waitress came over to say she lost the order ticket, and would need to put the order in a second time. After another 10 mins, I ordered a second drink which came right out. I assumed that my food would be along shortly... I was wrong! After another 15 mins, I grabbed the waiter and asked to cash out. After 45 minutes, NO Food!! Not only that, but the scallops, I never got were were charged to the bill!! Back in my home state for work. Brought out of towners with me on a recommendation. Our waitress took our order, and never returned. Another waiter dropped off one meal. 40 mins later, when the first person finished eating, a bartender came over to ask how we were doing. I said two of us never got our meals. 20 mins later, he delivered our meals. Clearly, the two dishes we ordered were found, tossed back into an oven and delivered. Neither of us could finish our meals. Absolute garbage. The bartender came back, and dropped a full bill. I walked over to find him to politely discuss the bill. The other waiter and i had a conversation about it, and the poor experience. I kept it quiet as not to make a scene. After 10 mins he came over and said he'd take off the first meal. I said two of us could'nt even eat our meals. He gave quite the attitude, and loudly said, "Clearly we can't please any of you tonight, we will take care of it" and stormed off. I said i wanted to pay what we thought we owed, but he wouldn't listen so we left. I'm sure the food "could" be great, but the service is a joke. I would have paid for everything but the two meals they killed. Instead, they refused and took zero. Poor business model... Pass on this place til they find better servers/mgmt. read more

I visited this restaurant during my trip in Boston and had a wonderful time! Upon arrival my expectations were low but they were immediately shot out the window. The atmosphere is beautiful and the staff let us sit wherever we wanted. It was quiet and lovely. We quickly sat down and decided to order the muscle's and soon enough they came. The muscles were very good and fresh. Then we ordered the brick oven pizza which was very delicious, not over cooked and had very good crust, in short words "perfect." By then the pasta and grouper came. The grouper was very good and cooked perfectly. The pasta was delicious and some of the best I've ever had. Everything about it was absolutely amazing, the sauce, the pasta and the basil. After everything was finished they brought us complimentary cannolis which were very good. Overall I would recommend this restaurant if your in the area. Great food, Great service and a Great atmosphere! read more

Have to say first off this was my first time visiting and last. We had a nice bottle of wine and the sirloin meatballs appetizer was nice. Where we were lost .... was when I ordered veal parm with pasta... and was given chix parm with pasta the chef had taken the liberty of adding PEAS to the red sauce.... Odd. The chef was apologetic and brought veal , but by ten minutes later... My pea pasta was cold . I paid full price and honestly should have been offered to keep the chicken ( it was better) . Nothing was deducted. The level of service and handling of the mixup is not acceptable for such a highly recommended establishment. Disappointed with the way all was handled. I am excited that I finally got to try this restaurant, even though it was only for lunch. It's an Italian restuarant (could you tell from their name?) that's been around for years. I had their caprese sandwich (sans prosciutto) on toasted rustic bread. The sandwich was delicious and flavorful. The bread was a little too hard for me, but it was good. Sandwiches come with fries, which were soggy (don't waste the calories). Side note, it's hard to find crisp fries, imo. Anyways, the decor was nice inside & the staff was friendly. Where was the garden? No tomatoes, no cucumbers? What a ripoff. Yes, the salad was big, but it wasn't a garden salad. Even if it was, I don't think I would have been happy paying $8 for a garden side salad in Danvers, MA (or too many other place's for that matter...maybe the Oak Room....but that's about it for that price). It's too bad, because the entree was really good & the bread was good as well, however, I don't think I will be frequenting this place. Also, a bunch of us sat in the bar a few months ago and service was horrible. The waitress kept disappearing. We wanted to drink (and I do mean drink) and orders apps, but apparently, she could have cared less. And tonight, I had a bag in each hand, and neither the hostess or the waiter who walked by me could have been bothered to open the door. Not like they were busy. Went with old friends recently for lunch, excellent food, excellent service and owner was so nice to us. One hopefully constructive comment. Fox news was playing on all your TVs. Unless ownership is trying to make a political statement this is a very bad idea. Our group, like most have different political opinions and we try to get away for a while at a nice restaurant like Ponte Vecchio. Instead we get blaring headlines from Fox causing comments and potential arguments. Stick with the local news on your TVs you will have happier customers of all political persuasions. read more
