Every time I head off Cape Cod to visit a friend north of Boston, we stop at Evviva Trattoria in Stoneham. This time, the experience was again outstanding. We both had the eggplant Milanese with a glass of red wine, followed by the best cappuccino I've had in a long time and fabulous cannoli. The manager, Don, came over. He was great. We went last night for dinner as my husband had a craving for alfredo! They have an interesting menu: their own spin on some classic meals. They had some live music too, which was a little too loud. We were a little disappointed that there was no bread offered. Seems like a staple for Italian! I got the chicken parm and the chicken was tender and flavorful! The red sauce was a little salty, but I enjoyed the addition of the ricotta but wasn't a huge fan of the pesto. It messed with the taste in my opinion. Ryan got the chicken broccolini alfredo and that sauce was beyond flavorful, but got pretty greasy towards the end. The chicken was just okay. We would come back and give it another try! read more

This is my 3rd time eating here and I don't like it at all. I keep going back to try something new in the hopes that something will change my mind. Tonight I got the cacciatore and it had a very off putting sharp bitter flavor that I could not identify. The Italian wedding soup was too salty and more like a bowl of broth because there wasn't much of anything in it. I tried one of my son's toasted ravioli and that was pretty good. We've been to Evviva about a dozen times but not to the Stoneham location and it's been a year since we've been to any Evviva's. Always had good experience and food. This visit was a little different. When we arrived, we waited up from for about 8 minutes before someone came to the front. There were 2 other couples waiting as well. It did not get off to a good start. It was a Saturday night and the place was about 1/3 full, we asked for a booth. There were 5 -6 booths open but none cleaned off. Another restaurant would have said wait a minute why we clean a table off, this one didn't. We order the fried ravioli appetizer and it was fair at best. It was overcooked. We ordered the Lasagna and veggie Risotto. The Risotto was good the Lasagna was OK, average. The server was very good and food came out quickly. When we left around 7:30 only about 5 tables were occupied, the rest of the place was empty which for Saturday night was unusual. Overall, we were less than satisfied with Stoneham location, considering the past positive experiences at other locations. I'm not sure if the lack of patrons on a Saturday night is an indication of the quality. We will not be coming back at least to this location. read more

After going to 110 Grille in Saugus and sitting there for 15+ minutes and server walked by twice said they would be right back we walked out. So our gift cards were good for Evviva as well so we went there instead. Ava was our server and she did a great job. Food was excellent. Front of house was clean. This place is such a gift to Stoneham. We love it so much. I love the atmosphere, and it's quiet enough to bring my dad, who is hard of hearing. I've been here 5 tines in the past few months and love it every time. It's terrific for large parties, too. I recommend the orecchiette, egg Parm, fettuccine, and chicken marsala. The cocktails are also surprisingly good. My sister loves the Italian margaritas and the mai tai. The tiramisu is huge and delicious, and the maple bundini is insane! I will say, I was skeptical at first, it's in a Plaza, and it's a chain, abs there are too many V's in the name! Like, how good can it be? I'm happy to say that everyone I know loves it. The food is pretty good. Nothing stellar, but basically good. Note that the price to portion ratio leans heavily on price versus portion size. The thing that garners just 3 stars is the service. It is so lackluster. I've been a few times and it's the same slow oblivious service. Simply put, you can order whatever you would like, but that's not a guarantee that you'll get what you ordered. Both my wife and I went there tonight for dinner.We arrived about 5:30 pm the place was basically empty, we were seated in a booth no waiting., giving menus waiting for waitstaff to come and take our order for drinks, bring water. Stopped here for lunch with my wife. We were seated right away and had a short wait for our server. We ordered the garlic cheesy bread as our app. It was pretty good, but a bit small. We then ordered a large extra cheese pizza, with one half pepperoni and the other half onions. I also ordered a large draft beer and my wife a soft drink. I finished my beer, and the server never returned to see if I wanted another one. After I finished our pizza, which was very good,she then came by and asked if I wanted another beer. I told her, yeah, 10 minutes ago, not now. She apologized for not getting back to us sooner. So she returned with our bill, apologized again, and said she took the app off the bill due to her delay in asking if I wanted another beer. I did not expect her to do that.
