I have been in here a couple of times and will keep coming back. This is a super solid Irish bar with a lot going for it. The beer selection is great and exactly what you want in a place like this. I have had the stew and the shepherd's pie on different visits, and both were very good. Classic Irish comfort food done well and consistent with the overall vibe. Service has been top-notch every time. Friendly, attentive, and consistent without being overbearing. It adds to the experience and makes it an easy place to return to. The decor and ambiance are very typical of an Irish bar. Warm, comfortable, and easy to settle into for a while. One of the things I like most is the amount of space. There is plenty of room overall, and the bar itself is long with lots of seating, which makes it easy to grab a spot or get seated even when it is busy. They also have Irish music here fairly often, which fits the place well, though I have not been in when it is happening. Bunratty is a great choice for a few drinks or a casual meal. Bunratty has become the place to which I've taken several friends. Everyone remarks on the terrific food--salads, pastas, burgers, and various Irish specialties. The other night I ordered a portabella mushroom flatbread with mozzarella, feta, and arugula all held together with "onion jam"-incredibly delicious! There's a lovely patio: so appreciated on several visits (except those in late August/early September when yellowjackets forced us to take our plates indoors). One more thing. The fees that credit card companies charge restaurants have become so high that Bunratty accepts only two cards per table. Knowing that, I asked the waitress if my three friends and I could pay individually--two with cards/two with cash. That was OK, but it made paying sorta chaotic...but with lots of laughs. I had the Irish Sampler, and it was absolutely fantastic! The beef stew was just like my mom's (who also uses her Irish recipe), the Shepherds Pie was so savory and authentic, but I think my favorite was the Cottage Pie, one of the best Irish dishes I've had. I'd also like to give a shout-out to the phenomenal staff. I have a neurodiverse son who can come across as abrasive and demanding when he's having a tough night. However our servers were so patient with him....we appreciate that so much! This place is terrible! The food is awful, the waitress we had was terrible, and the Manager was ignorant, with an attitude. Nobody in this place has any customer service skill or knows how to communicate. I never write yelp reviews but after the way we were treated tonight I had to. We went as a family to celebrate St. Patty's day and were kicked out with no warning because we had a 3 month old with us. If they had any customer service skills they would have politely told us before hand that after a certain time it is 21 plus but instead the waitress dropped the check and said we had to leave because of the baby. We spoke to the manager and she was a complete asshole who did nothing but flip us an attitude. My niece ordered a takeout meal for her boyfriend and the manager came back over and told us we couldn't stay to wait for the meal because we reached our time limit and I believe she said "we can't stay another hour and a half our time was up" with an attitude but then claimed she did not have one. Then proceeded to say any other night we could stay but not tonight or St. Patty's day. Came here on a Friday night and didn't have a wait. The host was nice to ask if we wanted to sit closer or farther away from the performing artist and accommodated our request. Our server was nice and personable. They also accommodated my request for a dressing swap on the buffalo chicken flatbread which was very good. Potato skins were good. Two got the beef ribs and they were a very healthy portion and very tasty, as was the gravy on the mashed potatoes. Two got the scampi, it was very flavorful. The sliced zucchini with the pasta was a nice accompaniment. The side of bread was warmed/toasted and was the perfect combination of crunchy & chewy yet just soft enough. Service was good and attentive, but the server could have know more about the menu. The sound level was high and there was a sort of music bingo going on which while perhaps a local tradition seemed a little out of place in a finer restaurant on a weekend night and was a minor distraction to our group. Our first time at Bunratty Tavern. What a fabulous evening we had. We sat at the bar for karaoke night with Joey the DJ who is incredible. Hubby is English, so he ordered the fish & chips, and I ordered the tavern tacos with corned beef. The portions were generous, and everything was delicious, sabrositoas we say in Spanish! Our bartender was so friendly and made me the Guiness Martini I had read about. It was delish.I'm going through chemo now, and sometimes food is not appetizing or does well with the stomach, but everything was lean and clean. Will definitely be back. From the second we walked in on a Thursday evening at 6:30 the service was unmatched! The host was so enthusiastic about the musical bingo happening at 7pm and he made us enthusiastic as well! His demeanor made the start of our first experience here great. We were quickly sat and then quickly attended to by an amazing waitress. She was super prompt and knowledgeable about the menu. Love Bunratty! We come here often, love that it is very family friendly. They have a large but not overwhelming menu and the food is always excellent. Definitely not a low calorie menu, but I've had their salads and they are tasty too. Great quality pub food, love their appetizers, especially the tater tots. Kids menu is great. Our toddler loves their chicken tenders and honey mustard dip. Friendly staff, very helpful and nice to our kiddos. Lots of great beer options and seasonal cocktails. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised! I didn't know what to expect but we had a gift card and figured we would give it a try. My husband and I came on a Saturday night and chose to sit at the bar so that we could watch football and listen to the live band. The bartender was so sweet and attentive. I got a Guinness martini and my husband got a Guinness (which was poured perfectly!). We started with the corned beef egg rolls which were soooo good and then I got the fish n chips and he got one of the house burgers. The fish n chip portion was very large and fresh! His burger was to die for. We both keep saying it's one of the best burgers we have had in a long time. I just loved the outdoor patio, and the relaxed friendly vibe of this place. The food we got was just okay. I ordered the vegan shepherds pie. I was happy to get some veggies, but the gravy was over salted and appeared to be thickened with cornstarch, which seemed odd for shepherds pie. Not something that I world order again due to the gravy. The mashed potato topping was good though. My husband had a Cuban sandwich with fries. He said it was okay. If I could give negative stars I would never had an experience like this at any restaurant ever. We sat outside because it was nice out. it was my brothers 21st birthday when she checked his id instead of saying happy birthday she called him a noobie the appetizer took at least 20 minutes to come out which they had tried to give us someone else's. finally go to order our food which I couldn't even call it decent when it finally came out. We ordered 2nd drinks which never came but they still tried charging us for. But the last straw was the nice family sitting next to us the grandmother tripped because they had left the umbrella stand in the middle of nowhere.
