The two is mostly for the friendly and attentive staff. Pizza was soft and floppy little sauce much cheese. I was not impressed. Spaghetti and meatballs, not enough spaghetti meatball were horrible, too much breadcrumbs and too much salt and seasoning all together. Fetticcine chicken and broccoli was the highlight of the night good taste all around. I think it's a good place for a bite and some beer but I have better options. Jack's charged me more than $38 for an Uber Eats delivery on an order whose menu cost was $26. This in itself was outrageous, and more than I had expected. Then I find that they charged *extra* for the tip! AND...when I received the order, one item was missing. The price was not adjusted. So, to be brief, I was charged $38 for a pizza, which arrived lukewarm and floppy. Uber Eats no longer has a phone # for customer service. When I tried to contact them 3 days after posting a complaint, they would not accept my attempt to reach them. Bottom line: (1) DON'T order from this restaurant; (2) DON'T use Uber Eats. read more

Not far from the Burlington mall ,Up the street in a little place in A plaza that looks like not a lot going on. Plenty of parking near subway. There's a restaurant literary right next to jacks . As You walk in there's a bar at your 12 and seating to the left. Seating also out in the deck area and outdoor seating. The atmosphere and every is so friendly. Gotta say our waitress was on point and friendly . Food was great! -1 star - drinks took a little long and pizza was slightly cold when we received our pizza. Other than that we like the place. Decent pizza in the Boston area is hard to find, so I took a gamble and tried getting takeout here. Called in my order and was given a 20-minute estimate, so arrived 20 minutes later. Was told there would be a "few minutes" delay on the cauliflower. Some 20 minutes later, I was told by front of the house it was "two minutes," to which I replied that I appreciated her transparency, and it was no problem. A half hour in total after my pickup time my order was finally ready, but the pizza was piping hot and the cauliflower was cold. Odd, considering I was supposedly waiting on the cauliflower. After arriving home, found that the arugula in the salad was wilted (despite being stored separately from pizza) and dirty. Pizza was legitimately tasty, so it wasn't a total disaster. My take is that this restaurant can make a decent pie but is disorganized. There was the delay, but honesty and quality are always more important. If the front of house staff is being placed in a tough position by poor QA and timing, management could at least diplomatically mediate. For their part, the front of staff shouldn't try to paper over underlying issues by lying to customers. Conclusion: good pizza, dubious vegetables and management. read more

Greeted warmly an told to "pick a seat" Great choices as there wasn't another sole in the restaurant which proved to be the case for the hour+ we were there. Now for the food. We ordered meatballs and a Ceaser salad with chicken to share. Waiter was friendly enough. Food TERRIBLE. Meatballs were like rocks with no flavor at all 2 large meatballs in a sauce with cheese did not come near to finishing - too tastless. Ceaser with chicken - chicken so overcooked barely able to cut Ceaser very bland and lettuce cut so thinly one could not pick up with a fork, there croutons were long very thin fried pieces of perhaps bread - hard to discern what they were made of.. The menu was sparce at best - several salads, lots of pizza and a few odds and ends which they called "beginnings". I don't think Jacks is a long termer unless there is marked improvement in their food. read more

The pizza here is some of the absolute best in the area, hands down. After visiting four times, the service has been solid as well. After going a few times I've realized the music could really use some work - it really kills the vibe. Lots of uptempo / generic music that could platy at any frat party in the early 2000s, and during another visit there was lots of cheesy 80s tunes. Not tastefully done to match the awesome pizza. Worst lunch experience! Stopped in here with my son and we ordered garlic cheese bread, a pizza and a burger. My sparkling wine was flat and warm, and the waiter served it with a glass of ice. Then the garlic cheese bread came out and the waiter said "they didn't have any clean steak knives. Must've had a busy night." The restaurant was open for 2 hours, guess he couldn't run the dishwasher to ensure there were clean utensils. The burger came out under cooked and the pizza was bland. We ate what we could, requested the check and a box for the leftover pizza. The waiter brought a used pizza box for us to take our pizza home in! We witnessed the waiter have a poor attitude after two other guests left, and then he placed a to go box back onto the pile of boxes when he should've thrown it away. Delicious pizza. Customer service is great. Wife messed up the order and they were quick to help correct it when she called back and seemed happy to do so. The pizza. Our first time having it. It was delivered by an order pickup company and dropped off still hot enough to enjoy. We live a town or so over. Watch out for that Salsiccia pizza! Addictive. We couldn't stop eating it. Jack's Coal Fired Pizza is an excellent place to go for food. Unlike other coal-fired pizza places, they do not overcook the pizzas and cause them to be super charred. The crust is very good, the sauce is excellent, and the toppings are a good quality. They also have a full liquor bar here and other items like meatballs and chicken wings. Food is decent if they got the order right. When we went in to pick up our take out order up, they didn't give my son meatballs with his spaghetti and meatballs. When my husband asked, the hostess told him they don't serve meatballs. When my husband showed her the kids menu that has spaghetti and meatballs as an option she said that it wasn't entered in the computer that way and it would be another 15 minutes for kids meatballs. I really loved this restaurant! I really liked the atmosphere and the overall look of it with the red stools at the bar and the red booths. I came here with a friend and we shared the 16 inch salami pie and it tasted amazing! For a pepperoni pizza, I thought it had a lot of flavor and had the perfect amount of cheese and marinara. Huge surprise finding this specialty coal fired pizza & wing restaurant. Was concerned when I walked in as it was virtually empty at 5 PM, but it was half full by the time I left. The smell and view of the 2 coal fired ovens got me drooling with anticipation. My waitress was spot on making menu recommendations and she really improved my dining experience. First up were the grilled combo lemon herb & buffalo wings served with a tangy and delicious ranch dressing plus a chunky blue cheese dressing. The wings were very large and bursting with flavor, a big winner in my book. The western California style pizza with Gorgonzola, arugula, mozzarella, fresh cherry tomato etc came out the perfect crunchy well done as I requested on a crust that had the right amount of snap and chew. I am a big fan of the California pizza chain, and Jack's was actually better. I will return again. read more

Possibly the recent press, but since I was unaware of that press, I'd avoid this place for a while - we went for lunch today (Saturday) and it took well over an hour for us and every table around us to get our pizza. We also had to ask managers multiple times to order in the first place, for check, you name it. Servers were being brought over from the restaurant next door, leading to errors in orders. Seemed like they were doing an insane amount of DoorDash and the people dining in were low priority. We won't be going back. read more

I made reservations to ensure there would be no major wait, arrived a few minutes early, and they seated us, waiter came over and took our drink orders and asked us if we wanted to see more minutes with the menu which we said we did. 12 to 15 minutes later the gentleman who seated us came over and said were you planning on ordering pizza? If so, there's over an hour wait. We discussed it with him briefly and told him we were not happy as we came to a pizza place expecting to get pizza, and he simply apologized and said he understood. Wait another 15 minutes or so for the waiter to come over and we asked again wasn't true that there was over an hour wait for Pizza and he advised that was, and when I asked why, most of those in the restaurant seated handpieces in front of them and we did not see a lot of foot traffic for takeout, he explained it was due to a review in barstool. I asked why seeing we had reservations and they knew they were having a problem while we were not notified or told immediately when we walked in the door and he said, I understand why you're upset sorry. And asked if you wanted to order. we obviously ordered food other than pizza and it was OK, was pretty average to be honest. The gentleman who shot us did bring over a large cheese pizza and said it was on the house, which was very nice, however, we had all wanted pizza and we all had different tastes, so a large cheese pizza to split between three different household's was an excellent thought on his part, but the reality of it wasn't that was not what we want it for our lunch outing. I truly don't understand why they weren't letting people know the minute they walked in the door that there was an issue, if they had told us, we would've chosen to go elsewhere. And none of us are very likely to return. As a sidenote, we did end up, sitting and talking after our meal for quite some time, but at that point, the restaurant was not at all busy, and we certainly tipped a server more than appropriately. read more

Well tonight my wife and I went to Jacks Coal Fired Pizza based on a favorable review on a recent Phantom Gourmet TV Show, The owner of Jack's spoke in glowing terms of the Coal Fired Pizza and the other option, Wood Fired Pizza. He gave great detail about the of the burnt crust and firm center of the coal fired pizza versus the lighter burnt crust and softer center of the wood fired. Since we have had many wood fired pizzas we opted to try the coal fired option. Surprise: our wait staff person said they no longer have just a coal fired pizza but in fact both ovens cook with wood and coal. When we said that we saw the coal fired version on Phantom Gourmet he said "that show was 3 years old". So we ordered the wood/coal margherita hybrid pizza. Not good at all.........not hot with mediocre flavor. There are too many other local pizza options that greatly exceed Jacks. read more

This actually deserves ZERO STARS. The manager tonight was in a suit which he apparently overheated in so in front of the open kitchen he opened his jacket and used a menu to fan his armpits. A server used her bare hands unwashed and reached into a bucket of food and took a handful and proceeded to shove it down her throat. When we arrived we were seated at an unwashed bar and then we requested a table. Sat at a high top with zero silverware or plate service. Proceeded to wait 20 minutes for the bartender that is also a server come over. She provided great service but no one else working could even figure out where food went, THREE WRONG orders of food were delivered to our table and we had to turn them away. When we finally received food requested plates and silverware and didn't receive it, grabbed it ourself. The bartender was the only person that could do her job and was pleasant. Really enjoy this spot. They have an awesome selection of craft beers & the pizza is delicious. My favorite is the Formaggio with caramelized onions.
