Was there 1 minute before they opened at 11AM. I looked in the window to see if they were open yet , door still locked. That's fine. Two things that did it for me, employee came out of the back side door with an attitude. He said 'what do you want'? I just said to the gentleman ' what time you open '? He said 11. He literally looked to see what time it was on his phone. It was 10:59. I also phoned in and talked to manager of the incident. He said sorry and will speak to him. Ordered a small buffalo chicken calzone today. I was planning on taking a picture of it but I couldn't stop eating after the first bite! The next thing I knew it was all gone! It tasted amazing! I ordered it with 2 cups of marinara on the side, just enough to compliment the calzone. The order comes with blue cheese, but I just prefer it with the marinara. The food is amazing and the employees are always so kind. Today I just ordered two slices of pepperoni and the gentleman behind the counter told me the slices were small so he gave me an extra for the price of two. I get to my car and to my delight, see he gave me two extra slices! (And the slices were still decently sized enough that I wouldn't have thought anything of it to begin with) Service is always quick which is great since I work close by so I can just pop in on my lunch breaks. Their food has been amazing since the 1970s. The key to getting great food is that the family that owns the shop is cooking the food. We got a pizza the other night that was overdone and frankly gross. The pizza was cooked by hired staff who obviously do not understand or care or have the skill to prepare and cook the food with the consistency we love. For now on I wont order unless at least one of the family members is there bc this NEVER happens when they are present. Three words: GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD. When you're looking for something hearty, delicious and filling but not too heavy. The salad is a very generous, large portion and comes with grilled marinated chicken (cooked fresh to order), feta cheese, olives and veggies. Pass on the dry, flat pita. Pizza is also GREAT - try the Andrea's special. Italian subs are fabulous. Truly a family owned and run business for many, many years - you get service with a smile. Andrea's Pizza has been a weekly(ish) staple in my diet for the past 18 years of life. If I don't come in to have a Chicken Caesar Salad (or to be called "cutie" by the friendly Greek lady/owner behind the counter) at least once a month I freak out. Having grown up down the street, I've tried all Winchester has to offer. People go apeshit for this family-owned pizza spot, and rightfully so. About twice a year, they play this cruel joke on everyone when they shut down for 2-3 weeks so the entire staff can vacation to Greece. People often experience convulsive withdrawals during this time, and are left with a vast empty void that can only be filled with Buff Chick Calzones and Steak Cheese & Mushroom subs with Chicken Wings on the side. It's just cruel I tell you cruel! Having stayed open till 1:30am back in high school, it served as the go-to spot for an extension of that prime Winchester nightlife, or as the safe-haven buying your liver extra time to metabolize the alcohol so your parents wouldn't smell it on your breath when you got home. If you wanted to run into someone "by accident," Andrea's was a sure bet allowing you to fulfill those adolescent hopes and dreams. I'm sure most Winchester natives can relate. On to the food: The pizza is unlike most you're probably used to. The crust is thick and buttery, the sauce is really dark, and the mozzarella cheese is GENEROUS. Classic Greek pizza, I suppose. Definitely not for everyone, but it's amazing if that's what you're looking for. Their Chicken Caesar Salad is bomb: plenty of tasty grilled chicken, croutons and melty cheese laid over a bed of Romaine lettuce. It's served with a pita, and not to mention the best homemade creamy Caesar dressing I've literally ever had. Their Calzones are flawless, but especially the Steak and Cheese. You get a half-oval pocket (cut into 6 squares to a small, 8 to a large) of cheesy beef cooked to perfection with greasy cheese draped over the entire thing. Heart attack-inducing, but more dank and delicious than that Sour D you used to puff back in your glory daze. Other things to try: the Chicken Basillico Wrap, and the Honey Dijon Chicken Wrap. If you're in town and looking for takeout, take my word for it: skip Gloria'a and Joe's, and grab some Andrea's instead. read more

Best takeout place in winchester. There Buffalo chicken calzones are the highlight of the menu. They make a very good steak and cheese and chicken parm sub. Prices are very reasonable. Also their greek salad is wicked good, salads are a bit highly priced compared to the rest of the food. I would also highly reccomend the chicken ranchero wrap, the hidden gem of their cuisine. Also for delivery they are extremly quick. Only thing preventing the 5 stars is their pizza, some people love it, but for me its got too much cheese and is wayyy to greasy, literally soaks through the box.
