I did have to trim off a tiny bit of silverskin off the outside of one of the steaks, but that's generally a good sign that they cut the meat in house. There were five folks behind the counter to help get things out of the case, so that was easy and fast. We also got some local-made roasted pork buns in the frozen area made by Dumpling Daughter, which were also a nice treat. Will probably be back. Would recommend this place if you want locally butchered meat.

I visited the place given that its got rave reviews. Unfortunately, I was utterly disappointed. The…read moreplace was only carryout, which is fine. The food, however, was disappointing. We had the chicken gangjeong half/half (hahaha flavor/ soy garlic). I have had a lot of korean fried chicken, and this ranks among the worst. The chicken didn't have the crisp you would expect from korean fried chicken. It was leaning towards the soggier side. What was even worse was that the soy garlic and the hahaha flavors did nothing for us. The flavors were bland and just straight up sweet. The soy garlic didn't have the punch of garlic or the umami and saltiness of the soy sauce. The hahaha flavor was simultaneously incomprehensible and unsatisfying. All in all, this place was a disappointment.

A cute bar across where you enter in and open seating in the rest of the space. Greeted by the waitress who also cheffed up my delectable, cheeky pints right from the draft spigots. Such a nice host who made me feel welcomed and recommended some great choices. I went with the special of the day, the pickle brined chicken sandwich with a side of chips and their charred scallion dip. The chicken was crispy & crunchy on the outside with succulent, juicy chicken thigh on the inside. That pickle brine worked wonders. The chips are homemade and exactly what you want from a crisp and that charred scallion dip was so addicting I was scooping the rest with a fork when I ran out of chips (would have licked it out if no fork). I ordered at the counter and took the 2 top high table right by the window. I ordered the House Dog and a side of waffle fries that came with their house made honey ketchup. The food was ready pretty quickly and it looked really good as I brought it back to my table. The House dog is listed as being topped with chopped bacon, grilled onions and their spicy pub style mustard. Overall it was really good. The onions weren't as cooked as much as I would have liked them to be and some of the onion pieces were pretty big. I thought the mustard was great and really wanted more of that on the dog. I know it looks like plenty in the picture but I still wanted more. The bun was that perfect split top New England bun that was perfectly toasted on both sides. The fries were good. Well-seasoned. I couldn't tell that anything was different about the ketchup. I did want more than what was given in the little portioned cup that they provided. I'd return to Chicken & The Pig and I'd definitely try other hot dog variations and definitely get one of the chicken sandwiches.
