Do not eat here if you're looking to get good food at a reasonable price. I had the 10 piece shrimp and a side salad for around $8. The shrimps were the size of popcorn shrimp! They were so small I should've just put them on my side salad. It definitely wasn't meant to fill anyone up for lunch. The salad leaves were unwashed because I could taste the pesticide on it! I heard that this place was good and that's the only reason I gave it a try, I guess I tried the wrong location. It's a sad day because I eat here weekly. The customer service this particular day was subpar. The ladies at the front counter lacked customer service etiquette- they acted as if a pain to take our order. Upon receiving the order, I noticed a short blonde hair in my food. I took it to the counter and the ladies reacted as if they were unaware of what to do. Another lady came from the back took the tray and yelled to the cook to remake the order. I asked if the cooks were wearing hair nets. After not receiving a response, the ladies proceeded to laugh and joke about the hair being in the food with the cook. I immediately turned around, requested that they cancel the order, and provide me with their corporate number. Mistakes happen but the manner in which you deal with it is important. read more

It was crazy hot and i could not figure out why at first. I cannot eat them and they don't list them on the chicken bowl. The manager named Siksaras got on the phone and said this to me Quote " you should have looked through the picture to see what is in the chicken bowl first" (And he said yes he remembered me me as we were talking when I was there and he actually rang me up himself ) So he would not even give me a replacement unless I brought the food back. NOTE Im Not going to dig through the trash to find it. I said have eating Mediterranean / middle eastern / Greek food all my life and never had jalapenos in anything, He said " that's how we make them, here" So i said back to him, so even though you remember me you and I cannot eat jalapenos and you don't list them in the menu you will not give me something else instead. He said "No I get a 100 calls a day like this, we would go out of business" I said no you dont get 100 calls a day, ( obviously ) its because you are very cheap. He then hangs up. How is he a manager, he must be related to the owners. Wow, no wonder you have so many 1 and 2 star reviews You dont even care if someone is allergic and cannot eat an ingredient. Well, it's been about a year since I last went to this Salem's in Brandon. I was mostly very satisfied. The wings were big and very hot. The fries were big and very hot. I love thick fries. I see why the wait can be long in the drive-thru cause It was all freshly prepared. Worth the wait. The only disappointment was there was not alot of sauce. It seemed as though the sauce was poured over top instead of the wings being spun in sauce before putting them in the container. If I'm wrong I would have liked the extra sauce to scoop up. So the next day when I went to finish them there wasn't any sauce on the bottom of container. I added my own sauce from home which I don't really mind cause I like my sauce. Idk who was at the drive thru but. I believe her name was Sara. I came at 11:50. Waited in line for the next person to order the whole menu basically.. At 11:54 I get up to the window.. Before my husband can tell her his Order. She said sorry we are close (mind you they close at 12am) I said but I just waited in line for 5 mins now. "She said yeah I know but we just sold or last order of wings" First off I didn't Order any wings!! Secondly I don't want wings.. "She said well we are close" I asked for her manager "she said we don't have a manager" she was very rude! My husband was so upset he got out the car and demand to speak to a manager.. I got the gyro since it is in the establishments name and I have had better at other local tampa joints. I tried this place for the first time a few months ago. I ordered a gyro through drive through. When I checked it, it had very little sauce and only on one fourth of the gyro. I asked for extra sauce and they said I had to pay more. I explained it was my first time there and that the sauce was not on the whole gyro and they said something about how they have to make money too and that it would be either 75 cents or a dollar more (can't remember.) Walking in this place is clean and modern the AC was great as it was hot out. The girls at the counter were a bit coarse but friendly. This is my first experience at a salems so far so good. Food came out and it was hot and appearance was decent. I started with the shrimp, it was fried to perfection and nicely seasoned. They do not have he different sauces out on the counter so just ask and they will give them to you. Hush puppies where very crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside and hot, good stuff. I will say the seafood was of good quality not the top of the line but for fast food very good. Some other yelpers complained about the cost, duh dummies its seafood and decent quality seafood has a cost. The gyro was fresh but left something to be desired it needs more seasoning and a bit less in the way of onions. The zatziki was bland no tang to it maybe a little lemon twang would bring it up. Overall it was decent eats a a little higher than usual fast food price. I will be back to eat again. The seafood I had was good. Try it out but don't expect to be wowed it's fast food in the end and decent fast food when your looking for a break from burger and taco joints. read more

I ordered over $50.00 of lunch for my staff. On your online receipt it says to present card that was used for online order. I sent my employee with my caRd as proof of purchase. My employee got to your location to find out that he can't use my card because his name is not on card. My employee contacts me about this so I told him to get a refund back on to my card and he was gonna cover lunch. My employee was first giving a blank refund receipt and was told refund was processed. My employee gets to his car and then realized that the refund was for zero dollars. He goes back into Store and confronts this the store clerk and instead of gets a apology the clerk says nothing then goes ahead and does refund for correct amount. Mind you the order pick was for 12:15 this took about half a hour or so to get corrected and by the time he gets back all lunches cold. The question is why was refund for zero amount then gives correct after confronted. I do have both copies. I never had this issue before read more

I am absolutely shocked at the bad reviews. I came by here today to bring lunch home for myself and my husband for the first time (I have gone to other locations), and the service and food was amazing. The food came out REALLY quick and was probably the best cooked we've ever had at a Salem's, and the gyros were packed with meat compared to the smaller portions at other locations. The cashier and manager who brought my food were both really friendly and nice, and the entire place was spotless even though it was very busy. I don't know about anyone else's experience, all I can do is say that mine was great, and we'll definitely be back. read more

I was very hungry and upset yesterday when I decided to stop in at the Salem's in Brandon, I was greeted very nicely and gently by a young lady taking orders. I noticed she had a name tag so I looked closely and I believe I read the name Glissette? Being a huge customer service advocate myself I was impressed with the manner with which Glissette handled customers. Customers that may have been harried or upset such as myself could not resist Glissette's friendly and respectful attitude. She was extremely friendly and professional while at the same time processing Customers in a smooth and efficient manner. As Customers walked away from her you could see the look of calm and satisfaction that she instilled in them and in me. The position that Glissette was working yesterday is one of the first contacts that your customers have with a worker there at Salem's. In many instances, the manner in which a customer is treated at this point will define their attitude towards the process and influence their opinions of Salem's as an agency. A restaurant or however you may want to call it. I can tell you from my experience, it is very important for your company to know that this young lady is definitely an asset to your company. I couldn't decide on what to eat and almost walked out when Glissette engaged me in a conversation and asked me what sought of things I like to eat or would usually eat and from there I can tell you she can and did help me decide whether to eat there or take my business some where else hands down she's a true business woman. Great GYRO'S and good med tasting food. They do give you plenty of Black beans and rice. But, if you are in a hurry, then go thru the drive thru. When ordering inside dining, you have to wait while standing and working your way around the people who are in line to order. Today during my visit to Salems - my husband and I just wanted to split something small. We decided to order a full steak and cheese meal and split it. We asked the cashier if it was possible to have just Mayo and cheese on one half and loaded with all the vegetables on the other side. He was very friendly and said yes. I know some places don't like to do this with food so that is why we asked. While at the counter another lady with a headset on (assuming manager) starting shaking her head and was being a bit rude to me and the cashier saying they don't do that. (My husband now heartbroken because he loves his veggies. ) I said that's fine just do it plain with mayo and cheese. I feel like in that situation they should have just made it to our liking and basically give us a warning that at that particular location they will not make the sandwich you are paying for to your liking. Anyways we get our food. Almost $14 for the meal. They didn't add cheese at all.
