Very clean here. Food is pricier than other locations and their offerings are different here. They offer some shrimp deals that other locations don't have but don't have the buy one get one lunch specials. Service is excellent! Great staff and management. I would visit again. The rice n beans where great to, nit to salty n beans just nice over the rice. I couldn't believe they managed to put that much in the container. The cheesecake was heavenly to. For my first time eating at Salem, my experience was pretty interesting. First of all, after telling the girl that helped us our order (fish&shrimp combo and Shrimp gyro combo), she then asks if we want tarter, some other sauce or boom sauce. When we asked what Boom sauce was, she said IDK. I feel like if you're working there you should at least know what it consist of, even if you haven't tried it. Or at least ask someone who might know. Secondly, after placing my order I decided that I wanted to try the jalapeño poppers, when I went back to the counter to order, the same girl replies and says...."To be honest the jalapeño poppers is gross". Immediately, I cancelled my order. Lastly, after getting home to eat my food, my order was wrong. I was given a philly cheese steak instead of Shrimp gyro. Overall, a very awful experience for the first time. Not sure that I'll return. I believe the only benefit of this spot is that they're open late. I have always liked Salem's and this is coming from someone who does not normally like chain restaurants. Yes, Salem's is a chain, granted a small chain based mainly around the Tampa area. They are for the most part consistent in both quality of food and their general appearance. My go to is their guru, which is a solid offering. I also like their chicken gizzards. The fries are decent and the prices are fair. All in all, I would recommend here or any of the Salem's locations. read more

I try to skip this place when Doordash tries to send me deliveries because the customer service is awful. There isn't an easy way to get a workers attention and they act as if helping you is a huge inconvenience. Once they complained about customers to me, saying they are always trying to get free stuff. Another time Doordash needed to call them and they refused saying they don't have to take their calls. I don't know why they always have such long lines. Don't go here! Been here several times in the past. The drive thru was packed out!!! It was the night before Halloween. A person was taking orders by tablet and the line was moving right along. I didn't know the menu well so, she gave me a paper one. I ordered and the line went right along well got my order it was right and it was delicious. The Greek salad came with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and a load of black olives. The Greek potato salad was also there. The Gyro meat is an upgrade I did. It's a complete meal by itself. I decided to try them out through Door Dash for delivery. I saw some good reviews about their seafood, as well as a billboard advertising Salem's seafood on Lumsden and Providence. I have to say that the grilled shrimp and fried oysters were tasty. Not the best in the world, but decent for a fast food restaurant. The oysters were large. They didn't appear to be freshly shucked, but I wasn't expecting them to be. The oyster was dense, and the batter was a bit spicy (maybe a little too salty). The good thing is that it didn't cover up the taste of the oyster. The shrimp appeared to be grilled in a garlic butter sauce. They were very good. I wasn't a fan of the black beans and rice. It was okay, but I found the beans to be under seasoned. It would have been better if the beans weren't served with a converted rice (a la Uncle Ben's). I guess I'm very picky about rice since I come from a Latin family. Sorry, I just couldn't let that go without mentioning it. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I really liked their baklava. The layers were full of syrup/honey, and the top of the pastry was nice and flaky. I'd order that again for dessert in a heartbeat. I'll be ordering again. I haven't tried their chicken tenders yet because I am so in love with their seafood and I don't get to visit that often since its not close to my house:-( Fried shrimp is my absolute favorite, I always ask for extra seasoning. I went through the drive thru tonight and got the #7 wing combo and the #8 boneless wing combo. They told me the total and i was confused on why it was over $30. i tried asking the guy in the window why it was so much and he just looked at me confused. i tried to make sure they're only charging me for 2 combos and he said yeah in an annoyed tone. when i got my receipt, i saw they charged me $6.49 for 5 wings. i told him i didn't order that and he just questioned me then someone who im assuming was the manager came over and started asking the same questions as him. they both seemed very irritated about it. she gave me $6 in cash. i'm not mad about the fact that they shorted me a few cents but it was unprofessional and rude how they handled the situation. they also ask if a medium drink is okay but don't tell you it will be a 75 cent up charge. i was very unhappy with my experience tonight. read more

My boyfriend said his gyro meat was bland, but the fries were good. My chicken and shrimp were basically cold when I got it. Everything was bland including his sister's chicken tenders. The fries were fine since they were seasoned after frying. Maybe their fryers need the oil changed ? The vanilla milkshakes are always good! Their shakes are actually my favorite. It's like sweet custard but still soft serve. SERVICE REVIEW: They were pretty busy inside and the drive through has a long line. We came around 11:15pm maybe. 4 different people took our order lol It started with one lady then she had to help with drive through so it was someone else and then again whoever was supposed to be there was taking it and the last person I'll assume is the owner checked us out.. Our food came out a little after 10 minutes so it was fast. Everything was correct for what we ordered. They were attentive and nice so there's no stars off for that. PERSONAL REVIEW: 3 of us were disappointed by the food. Hopefully they can improve in the future. Went to the Brandon Salem's for lunch with the intention of getting a regular (gyro). They had a sign for a special of two shrimp gyros for a reduced price so I decided to get that. My first impression on entering the restaurant that it was very clean and well organized. They were doing a brisk lunch business both inside and at the drive through line. Glancing around everything folks were eating looked good, and they have a varied menu for a "fast" food restaurant, with a preponderate of fish/shrimp dishes. I would have loved to have sampled several things, but I was in a bit of a rush to get back to work so I placed a ToGo order for the 2 shrimp gyro special. You have choice of having the shrimp fried or broiled, and I chose the latter. The time from placing my order to it being ready was about 10 minutes, and another 10 minutes for me to drive home and dig in. The taste was good, with the tzatziki sauce a little too overpowering. The shrimp were cooked to perfection with just the right texture to make you think they were very fresh. The pita bread and all the other ingredients seemed very fresh. I definitely will return and try the beef/lamb gyro, their chicken wings, burger, fish, etc. One of the better quick food places in Brandon if you want a change from burgers and tacos. read more

Part of my order was the fish & shrimp combo - fried. That combo is supposed to come with 10 shrimp. I got home to discover I was given 7 shrimp. I drove 30 Mi round trip just to go to Salem's. When I noticed the mistake, I called the location but there was no answer. I called three times. I do not mind that they recently went up on their prices because the food taste great. But please give me what I paid for. To get 7 shrimp instead of 10. I don't know how to describe that type of mistake. read more
