Did lunch this week. I had the original gyro with fries and drink. Good food for under $10. They have a multi drink machine - 100 choices. I had my Diet Dr Pepper and was happy to get it. Service was great, the place was clean, the staff was efficient and friendly. A good variety of fish and other foods, as sandwiches or gyros or bowls. Recommended for lunch in Brandon. read more

This review is purely based on customer service and just common sense. I was sitting in the drive thru when I felt a bump on my car. When I looked in my mirror, on the work employees had a shocked look on his face. I got out of the car and all he said was sorry as he was trying to walk inside. Turns out, he hit my car with whatever cart he was pulling to take the trash out. When you hit someone's property, you don't just say sorry and try to walk away. I looked at my car and didn't see anything initially. I told whoever was working the drive thru window. She ignored me. I told someone else, he grabbed the manager. When I told the manager, he seemed like he didn't really care. I was actually upset about it. I paid for my food and I left the drive thru. I pulled over to look at my bumper and realized the employee actually chipped paint off of my car. Oh also, the storm drain lid was not even in the ground and my car ran over that too. Went to Salems in Brandon Blvd today to order gizzards for my son. We go there all the time. They must be under new management because when we finally got our order there weren't many gizzards in the box. I pulled back around to speak to the manager who argued with me that that's how many gizzards we were supposed to get and that they use bigger boxes now. I asked for my money back and went somewhere else that doesn't lie to their customers and treat them like they don't know what they used to get. This Salem's definitely lost my business and when I showed my friends and family the pathetic picture of what they tried to pass off as a half of pound of gizzards they also said they weren't going back there. I ordered two sandwiches and was given two combo meals, which I did not order. They added drinks on which I thought were complementary (but from the receipt was obviously not). I asked for two unsweetened iced teas (because I'm diabetic, I cannot have sugar and I told him that), but I was given to ice teas with sugar in them. My first time eating here and using DoorDash to order ahead. I ordered through DoorDash as a pickup order. Several items to taste test including gizzards (tasty), onions rings (yummy), basa (undercooked), and boneless wings (soggy). Ordering process was smooth but pickup was sad. I've never been to this restaurant for any location so I wasn't sure where to go when I entered. There was a line of people waiting for pickups who all looked tired and mad, a shorter line for new orders. I got in line again unsure of which counter to pick up my order. Couple of people in front of me, then the cashier glanced at me several times without calling me forward. Another guy comes flying in walks straight up to the counter in front of me declares he has a DoorDash order to pick up to which she skips of to fetch. I ask him "is that how it's done, you just walk up and ask?" He says every place is different that's his method here. Then the cashier finally acknowledges me and I ask for my order. Seriously she could have been more helpful. There were others in line behind me so I don't know why she suddenly stopped taking orders and just stood there staring. Literally worst food and worst service at the same time. Never thought the country folk in seffner would make a WAY better gyro then a place known for this style of food. The meat was undercooked, the cucumber sauce was nothing more then sour cream that was likely stored next to something that had flavor in it. The cashier upgraded our meals without asking us and charged us for it, never told the kitchen about our special request to have no tomatoes on 1 sandwich and the sauce of the side for the other [not huge requests- thought it was very simple]. Had to argue about the upchcarge even with the manager who just took the money out of the register, didn't adjust for the tax and made us bring back the larger drinks we had been given so they could throw them away and replace with the smaller size. 1st and definitely LAST trip to any of these locations. Will never return and definitely will caution others to avoid at all costs. To add insult to injury they charge over 13.00 for these combos, at least the shrimp were hot even if they were overcooked. read more

I ordered a boneless chicken kids meal with cheese fries. In stead of letting me know they were out of boneless wings they threw a drumstick in there, my baby does not eat drumsticks! The boneless wings were cold & hard as hell all that time I waited & can't even get fresh food. On top of that they gave me extra fries instead of a cheese fry because they were short staffed & didn't have time to make a cheese fry! Ended up throwing the entire meal in the trash. I've been going to Salem's Gyros for YEARS in the Tampa area. Particularly the Hillsboro and Fletcher locations. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed my last few visits. The price is now $9.49 for the gyro I paid $7.49 for just last year. The prices are going higher and higher yet the food amount is getting smaller and smaller. The gyro had less than half the amount of meat that was served before and a handful of fries when before you couldn't even close the lid on the to go container. Yes inflation I get it but this is ridiculous for the amount of locations now available. I paid $4.99 to try the zucchini fries...I figured appetizer size, zuchinni is inexpensive should be a good portion. After refraining from visiting this place for over 2 years for too many similar incidents, I decided to give them another try, but shame on me. Though the food is satisfying when you need a quick bite, the service still remains sub par. Most of the workers are nice and polite, but they still don't pay attention when it comes to distributing orders. This time I just asked for extra condiments for a platter order, and was charged for the extra (which was not a problem). However, when I received the order, I asked if the extra was placed in the bag and so did the attendant at the drive-thru window. The gentleman that bags the orders assured us that he placed one in the container, and handed her another to put in the bag. She asked if he was sure, then he laughed and said yes. Long story short I get home and no extra condiments that I paid for, nor was the food prepared as I ordered. So I called the store and the manager/owner had the audacity to ask me what do I want him to do about it. Not a problem brother, you just lost another one. read more

The food is good here for a late night meal. However, i have not always had the best experience service wise. There was one occasion where I pre-ordered my food over the phone, then when I arrived they said they never received my order. Other times I'm waiting for almost a half an hour for my food. Tonight my boyfriend and I decided to get food on the way home from the casino. When I called them to pre-order the young lady that answered asked me to hold for 1 minute. Six minutes later I'm still on hold then suddenly the phone disconnects. When I called back the same girl answered and asked if I was the one on hold to place an order. I said...she then apologized that one of her co-workers accidentally hung up on me. This would've been fine, but then she followed this statement by asking if she can place me on another brief hold. I told her "no, why can't she take my order now?" So she went ahead and took my order but only after I demanded it. I would still be waiting on hold if I hadn't. And of course we had to wait still about 20 min when we arrived to pick up our food. In conclusion, i would say the food is good there, but the service is poor overall. read more

The people who work here are extremely rude, call your name for an order along with rolling their eyes. The girl who takes your order has no interest in taking orders at all. The chicken gyro reminded me a lot of food back home in NY. So, I was very pleased when the food was at least tasty and allowed me to escape the regret of having to interact with such a dull cashier. I'd really love to come back, but if I have to experience such a dreadful conversation to order my food, I think I'll pass. Ordered at 4 o'clock to have food pick up at 7 at 705 they say 30 more minutes. Last time I was here after my son's football game in Sept at 11 on it took over an HR to get the food. Blown off when complained about. When I finally did get the food the gyros look like they only had half the meat on them, the PD bread was dripping with grease and the shrimp were so small they needed a new name to describe them. Okay so when I saw that salem's was getting a location in Brandon, I thought it was the second coming of Jesus. I was so happy. The ones in Tampa are SO GLORIOUS. I was in bliss... Little did I know the disappointment I was about to get. This doesn't even seem like the same chain!! It was not even CLOSE to as good as the ones in Tampa. I took my sister and my two cousins from up north for their first salem's experience and WE WERE ALL SO PSYCHED! My fries weren't good, the gyro had like no sauce on it, the bread was hard...COME ON ITS LIKE THEY WERENT EVEN TRYING. I looked like such an asshole bragging on this place. Just moved into the area and wanted to try something new. It seems like a fast food restaurant but was pretty expensive for what it was. The grilled shrimp were hot and fresh. Seasoned well but reminded me of steamed shrimp not grilled. The wings were also good. The hot flavor was nice. Also tried the calamari and would never recommend it. It was chewy and underseasoned. This place is terrible. Not the food so much as the staff. Rude as he'll, act like they are doing you a favor. And the manager who I was told his name was "Osama" is a idiot in my opinion. He refused to take a $20 bill with a small portion of the corner was missing. Then I handed his drinks back as I was not going to take the food and he put the bottled water back into the fridge my son had been sitting with and actually opened. First, I have visited the Brandon, FL location (903 W Brandon Blvd) several times, but unfortunately this time around was the worst experience I have ever had. If I could I would give a zero rating from my visit on 03/12/21 at 2:30pm. My husband placed an online order and paid online to be picked up by me since our baby was at home sleeping and we didn't want to bring him out due to Covid. When I arrived to the drive thru and provided my pick up order information, I was told that some man had picked up my order already. After explaining that no one should have picked up my order with out proper verification since I just arrived to the store, I was told several times in drive thru that my order was already picked up and that after speaking with the manager, they would not be able to refund my money or replace the order since it was already completed. I then explained that I was coming inside the restaurant to personally speak with the manager myself. I was not properly greeted by staff. I then asked for the manager. The manager came up to the counter and immediately tells me that she spoke with her employee and that some man had already came in to pick up my order without proper verification. I then tried to explain that myself nor my husband had picked up the order and then the Manager says out loud to her employee, "I don't think she heard me." Then, I tried to explain again with frustration at this point and the manager says I will walk out this store I don't have to deal with this today. Then, instead of acknowledging me, the manager walks away to the back. Still no apology. She still would not replace my order or provide me with a refund. I had been in the store in front by myself for 20 more minutes without any of the employees acknowledging my presence. I then asked for the managers name from an employee name Zion. She provided me with Nicole as the managers name, but told me that she did not know the managers last name. No one would tell me the managers last name. I was not provided with her last name. I felt totally disrespected and no one had apologized for the incident or offered to provide a refund or remake my order to show better customer service especially when I am a repeat customer. Finally, after being in the store for a hour, an employee comes up to me with a cup in her hand rolling her eyes hands me the cup and tells me that they are going to remake my order and walked off. I finally got my order 15 minutes after that and still no acknowledgement or apology from the manager Nicole. It is so unfortunate, but I will not be returning to Salem's in Brandon. read more

Tried Salem's today for the first time with my office. We called in an order for 70 wings, some fries, and a chicken gyro. It took me about 10 minutes to get there from my office and the food was already ready when I arrived! Everything tasted awesome! I was surprised at how big the wings were - much larger than other local restaurants. They were juicy and full of flavor - the best wings I have ever had. There was way more than enough food for us. One person had the gyro and 5 of us shared the wings. We still had about 20 wings left! The location is very nice - great location right on hwy 60 near Kings. The building is very nice and clean inside and out. I was impressed by the quality all around. read more
