Whenever I am in Houston I have to make a trip to Salata. While on vacation we tend to eat on the go so this is a good alternative to fast food. I also like that I can try new toppings without wasting a ton of food if I don't like it. read more

The wraps are good. I like stopping by for a fresh, Mediterranean wrap from time to time, and the pita chips are always a plus. The staff at this location can at times be hit or miss. On a couple of occasions, especially when it is slow, we have felt rushed to eat our meal. The staff will put up chairs way before it is time to close. It just doesn't feel welcoming. I understand that employees would like to leave right after closing -- just don't make the customers feel like they have to leave early. I do recommend their food because it is good and will come back again to give them another chance. read more

employees were rude and had an attitude while serving me. they seemed annoyed that a customer walked in and wanted to order.

What I like from this place: the service is fast, the selection of ingredients is vast and the price is fair. I always get a small broccoli "soup". I have never been disappointed. read more

Really enjoyed this salad bar or pita wrap bar. The options are quite nice (beets, pumpkin seeds, jalapenos, dried cranberries and so on. You also have the option of ordering your to-go order completely online. Awesome! They offer three different types of soup that could accompany your meal. The two choices in size are regular and small--I would recommend going with the small every time--it's massive otherwise. read more

Salad cafeteria! Everything was fresh and clean. They have anything you could possibly want in combination for your salad palate, or, if you like it simple, they have that as well. The staff are courteous in catering to your needs and I love the flavored teas. The atmosphere was relaxing and I enjoyed my custom made salad. Each time I have been, I paid around $13.00 for salad and drink. Great place. read more

I'm actually happy about this place. You do have vegetarian options which is cool for the area, since there aren't many places that offer this here. So far all the stuff here is fresh and the staff are very helpful. read more

Deliciously fresh! Every topping you can think of plus bread. You can also choose between 6-8 different proteins and 3 soups to go with your salad. read more

Salata - Large salad - Soup Near Me - Houston, Texas

Can't go wrong with Salata! They're pretty consistent with the offering and super clean. My salads are always protein free so I can't really comment on that aspect. I've tried a few different dressing and still, chipotle ranch is my favorite. I also like that now they feature a topping of the month, which makes you think and try new ingredients. I wish they would replace the disposable cutlery by real ones though. Not very environmental friendly on that aspect. read more

BEST SALADS EVER!!!!! I can't get enough of this place! This was my first time here because my mom and i wanted to have a light dinner. The salads and meat are fresh and oh so yummy! I don't think i could have made a better salad myself. Absolutely love all the different choices as far as veggies, etc. One more thing, the chicken is to die for! read more

This place is always clean. The ladies behind the counter are nice. The veggies are fresh... and lemme tell ya, I put together a mean salad! Haha. I always get the large salad and end up with just that. They also offer wraps. My favorite dressing is the herb vinaigrette. It's very fresh and bright. I love how they pre-toss your salad for you. They have a nice selection of teas as well...and oh yea, some cookies, too ;) read more

A good salad bar for a salad, a wrap, or soup and bread. I enjoy coming here at least once a week and enjoying it every time. The salads are various choices and you can get numerous toppings when you are deciding on your salad. There were over 20 things you can put on the salad, all of which are good to add to a healthy meal. I especially like the fruit and the seafood or chicken to add to the salad. The bread and soup are also good for on the side. Pesto bread is my regular side when I am here along with tomato soup. The tomato soup has basil leaves which gives it a decent flavor when that is added. The soup would be my favorite because the regular tomato soup I use isn't really enough at home. One little problem is the plastic silverware. I mean really the bowls are plastic, but I just don't see people eating with this silverware and being satisfied with it. However when I get a salad to take home, I use my own silverware. I just don't see this silverware being a positive thing on the meal. The people who work there are nice, and the atmosphere is good too. Whenever I have a chance, I eat at the restaurant instead of taking it to go. It's a flaw with the silverware, but other than that this is a decent salad place. They have outside seating too. I would eat out there when it's a beautiful day. read more

I work in vintage and always eat at this location. But since covid-19 I've been home and really wanted a salad. I ordered delivery via Salata website and the delivery service was door dash. Well when my order was received it was eaten out of and the dasher had left me 3 pita strips. I immediately called Salata to notify them of what had happened. The manager was super understanding and offered a full refund along with a free upgraded salad/ meal I can get anytime. Well I'm pregnant I needed it now lol. So he made me a huge salad with extra toppings and I picked it up right away. I LOVE THIS LOCATION. read more

The worker wearing sunglasses inside was pretty rude for no reason. Hope he knows he looked dumb. But the salad was insanely good as usual.

Great salads varieties, overpriced but still great place for salad and soups. Everything is always looking fresh and delicious. I recommend this place especially in summer time. read more

Omg deeeeeslishis!! Still a great price even tho it is extra for proteins and avacodo ..... Comparable to sweet tomato quality and taste maybe better. First visit definitely will revisit. Staff was friendly. Very clean. Bring a jacket it is cold in there but not unbearable. read more

The quinoa in my salad was so undercooked it was practically raw. Even though I felt like I was crunching on sand, I kept eating because I didn't want to waste the salad. Got to the bottoms and found two long hairs. Totally gross! read more

I placed an order online a week ago of a large salad and requested extra crab meat and ranch, my husband goes to pick up my order and the girl at the front register throws the order to the side for My husband and in a rude ass attitude the girl at the register shouts you need to pay for the extra crab meat. Are you serious If she had explained in a nice manner way to pay for the extra crab meat, he would Have no problem paying for it. I call to speak to the manager and they tell me that the manager is not there but there is the kitchen manager who as soon as got on the phone start to speak Spanish to me. First of all I don't speak Spanish, then she tried to offer a free salad I don't need the free salad I can afford buying myself a salad I need to speak to the manager I asked, she said will he can call you tomorrow, it's a week today and I have not heard anything back from then. Ok!! So I am a salad freak. I love salads and will look all over the city for a good one. My husband introduced me to this place last week. When I tell you this is THE BEST salad I've ever had. I went here last week with my cousin and it was our first time trying it out so we kinda didn't know how to order, but the dude was hella rude and didn't even attempt to help even though I said I haven't been here before and was confused . He just stared at us like we were stupid and I felt uncomfortable the whole time. When we went to sit down we agreed that the workers, specifically the guy who took our order was extremely cold and we both felt uncomfortable with the experience. I had high hopes on the way here but honestly the energy was off and made the whole experience a bit of a let down. the salad was good though and everything seemed fresh but i really would like to try eating at another location next time because honestly I hate having awkward experiences and feeling like I'm unwelcomed, it's not a good feeling to have at all. Manager at this location blames me, instead of apologizing for a minor event. Her staff started mixing something into the salad which I tried to tell him not to do. She told me I should have said something before. She then continues to mix them all together, despite my protest. She ruined my dinner and smiled and asked me to have a nice dinner. read more

I LOVE Salata. All of the chefs are very friendly and helpful. The options are endless and the portions make you feel good about spending $15 on a salad. They have several drink options to add to the meal and it is SUPER easy to order vegan here. They even have their dressings marked - greatly appreciated! read more

I give this place 3 stars because the service was great but if I'm honest the food wasn't that spectacular. All the people there are sweet, a bit pricey tho. Also the ranch dressing tasted like pure mayonnaise. I got the white bean soup and it was ok. I wouldn't go again. read more

Like the fact , this business has its own ranch dressing. Salmon is pretty dry, overall nice place..

I love Salata. This location is just as lovely and fresh as the others I've been to!! The employees had such nice smiles when they were helping us and my salad was delish. read more

It's an interesting concept: pay a fixed price, get whatever you want in your salad. Most places either charge a fixed price and make the salad the way they want it or they'll give you the freedom of choice but charge you by weight. The size of the salad is tremendous. I've actually never been that full from a salad before. That was quite an achievement that Salata was able to succeed at. However, the veggies that filled me up could have been of higher quality. Nothing was awful, but the carrots could have been fresher, the lettuce chopped better, and the peppers should have been crispier. Not only that, they didn't do a very good job at mixing the ingredients together so one half of my salad was full of salmon while the other was fishless. I got a bowl of soup (the tomato bisque was very hearty and thick) as well and my total ended up being over 15 dollars... For a salad and soup? Yikes... If you've got money to burn and want to eat healthy, Salata is the way to go. If you are poor and don't care about health, 15 McDoubles might be the better option. read more

Most of my paycheck ends up here because they're so dang overpriced! I seriously have gone broke from having eaten here so much. Forreals, this place makes a poor college student even poorer. I ate here 4-5 times per week last summer. Students, make sure you have your student ID handy, it'll save you a dolla each time! I think its safe to say I'm addicted. Everyone I've taken here who's told me they're "not really a salad person," I've always proven them wrong. I've convinced every single one of my friends to try this place, and not ever have I gotten a "this is an eh place". There's no limit to how much you can get just as long as you can hold it all in your bowl, so don't get a Large. Get a small and you can make it plenty (DISCLAIMER: This trick only works for salads, not wraps). Big tip for those who are not salad fans: try to pack as many different flavors as you can in your salads. Don't just go for the traditional caesar salads--do yourself a favor and don't waste a trip to Salata on something you can make at home. The trick to a magical salad is adding as many flavors as possible, go for fruits and all the types of veggies you don't usually try in your salads. As for dressings, I find a combination of them to be the best. I think the best combination is half a spoon of the lemon vinaigrette and half a spoon of the honey mustard. The vinaigrette loosens the thickness of the honey mustard without jeopardizing the sweet, milky taste of it. Those two will equal heaven for your taste buds. But if you don't like honey mustard, pair the lemon vinaigrette with the herb vinaigrette. As for the staff, I can't help but feel bad for them. I don't think the customers are always as nice as they can be with their high demands, so the staff always looks annoyed or flustered. They're always really nice to me, so I know for sure, it's the customers in this part of town: they can be pretty demanding with their "time is money" and "I'm the customer, so I'm right" attitude. I have a friend who worked here in the past, and she said the pace is crazy hectic and they're wayyy underpaid. There's always a new face. That's why as a regular, I can tell that they have one of the highest turnover rates in all the businesses I've seen. I just wish salata would offer more promotions so I don't go nearly as broke. Also, bring a jacket, even on the hottest of days, else you'll freeze. I'm pretty sure their room temp is in the negative read more

Finally! A place to get a big salad. $8 gets you the standard salad, with your choice of at least 40+ diff toppings (veg, nuts, cheese, etc) and tossed for you in one of their signature dressings, which were good. Add a variety of chicken breast choices, shrimp or "krab" for $2, or get a wrap for $7. Cup of soup was $3 or so. Very clean and well organized set up. Everything was super fresh. I will def be back again. Prices not bad for the quality. read more

So glad to have a nice salad bar in NW Houston! The ingredients are super fresh and the restaurant is spotless. The choices are endless and I love that they make the salad for you and mix it with the dressing in a large bowl. Much better than a typical help yourself salad bar. read more

Nice clean environment...there may be a line, however, it moves pretty quick. The only thing I wish they would not do is scrimp on the portions...I mean it's salad...and I'm not speaking of the proteins(if you add them). For instance, if I'm paying 12.00 for a salad and I ask for mushrooms...please don't give me the side eye as if it is a bother to put FIVE more on my greens...other than that, no complaints. Clean and tidy always get my vote. read more

I could've eaten the tomato basil soup by itself for lunch! Delicious and hearty. There are SO many choices for your salad, so hopefully you have an idea of what you want, because you'll be overwhelmed otherwise. I got a salad without meat and a cup of soup and was plenty full. You're definitely paying for the wide variety of salad topping selections, but if you're a salad junkie like myself, it's well worth it. read more

Whether grabbing my salad to go or eating with friends, I eat at the Vintage Salata at least once or twice a week. The food is always very fresh and they offer a wide variety of ingredients. Overall, the food is about as good as a salad can be. HOWEVER, I have two major complaints. 1) It's FREEZING year round inside the restaurant. Eating inside often requires a parka, mittens, and a scarf...even in JULY. Clearly, they want to get people in and out as fast as possible. I understand why they want to turn tables during the busiest time of day, but the sub freezing temperatures in the restaurant takes this tactic to a whole new (low) level. 2) The women making the salads remind me of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. They are generally unpleasant and try to get away with giving you as little salad and toppings as possible. One time they put THREE peas on my salad. THREE. For an $8 salad can't I at least have 5 peas? If you ask for more items the response is usually an eye roll and a reluctant grab for two more broccoli florets or a few sprouts. No More Salad for You. The above experience seems to be unique to the Vintage location as I have been to two other Salatas where the temperature was comfortable and the salads generously and cheerfully made. With all of the new restaurants popping up in the area perhaps management should reevaluate the way they treat their customers. read more

Salads are good. A little pricey for a salad, but you can get as much ingredients in it as you want so it makes it worth it. Don't be afraid to ask for a little more. I always do because they give so little. I've only tried the fresh herb vinaigrette. It's so good. read more

I stumbled on this place when in Houston for work. Please please expand to NJ ASAP. This place is fabulous. So many different toppings to choose from!!! Definitely try it. I don't think you will be disappointed! I can't wait to go back to Houston again to eat here! read more

I can live off of soup and salad, which is why I love this place so much. Their vegetables are always fresh and they have an insane variety of veggies and dressings to choose from. I'm not a fan of seafood, but they seem to have a decent selection of salmon, crab, and shrimp. I always get the herb marinated chicken; I like it so much that I don't want to try anything else :) I really, really, really like their ginger dressing; mango dressing not so much. And their tomato basil soup is heaven, especially when I ask them to add bacon to it. Not the healthiest protein, but it hits the spot when I'm craving it. Never tried a wrap, but I hear they're pretty good. This place is pricey, but from my understanding it's all organic, so it has to be. If you get both soup and salad w/chicken, depending on the size, you'll probably spend about $14. But I'd rather spend the extra money on something that is good for me as opposed to spending the same amount at a Chipotle or some fast food joint in the area, where the food is extra bad for you. Highly recommend to all health conscious individuals. read more

Great chain and concept. But I really wonder about their margins because the salads are mostly greens and a just a small pinch of whatever else (you wouldn't even know you had tomatoes in it). Good for them on managing to charge so much for lettuce though, really impressed :) read more

I still love eating Salata salads, but I wanted to update that they are not as generous with the portions anymore. A small handful of each type of lettuce/kale/spinach (hand of the person who's serving you). They only give you a spoon of all your veggies and a larger spoon of meats. You can ask for more veggies, which they will give you for free, but if you want a little more meat it's gonna cost you. A larger salad is in the range of $10-12. I understand they have to manage portions but it comes across like they are being less than generous with their offerings. They have scaled back on how they make salads from when they first opened. I still go but I know how to order exactly what I want. Still a healthy option for lunch or dinner. read more
