I want to say I have never really been a smoothie person but Tropical Smoothie Cafe has made me love them! I have ordered from this location multiple times in the last six months. I have tried multiple smoothies and have never been disappointed. The wraps and the flatbreads are amazing. Great flavor and great price. I feel it's a healthy alternative to fast food. The service is always friendly and they are very patient as well as helpful when trying to decide on what smoothie to try next. They are great with making suggestions too. The location is very colorful and very clean. Certainly inviting and always greeted when I walk in. I've ordered through the app as well as gone in to order. I'll start by saying that Tropical Smoothie Cafe has the best options of any smoothie place in my opinion. I like the variety they provide and I think the size is a good value for your money. The Bahama Mama is the best smoothie I've had anywhere and I find myself craving it from time to time. However, I've never had a good experience at this location so I don't feel I can rate it any higher. The first time I ever tried this location, I ordered ahead online. I ended up waiting THIRTY minutes past when my smoothie was supposed to be ready and there was still no progress. I finally approached the counter and the staff realized they had skipped my order. I understand accidents happen, but they were standing around on their phones behind the counter while I waited by the pick up area and they never asked if I needed help. They also didn't apologize when they realized my order was missed. I filled out a survey online about the experience and the manager called me same day. I did find that impressive since it shows he clearly cares about his business. However, he assured me that he would send me a few coupons and wanted me to come back and try their smoothies again on the house. I never received those coupons. Regardless, I decided to give them another try and had a similar experience with waiting the second time. I haven't gone back since simply because it's a bit of a drive for me that I can't justify when you also have to wait that long to receive your order. I've eaten TSC several times and even out of state. Never had I ever had burnt literally charred pieces of veggies to where I can't even determine what it is. It takes like old pieces from a grill. I have no idea why it would be okay to SERVE this. I called back and the Caucasian female who made the order was not helpful. I am pregnant and very particular.. can't eat everything. She did not offer to remake or anything. I am aware of how this should be cooked of course grilled but not BURNT to were I have to pull the pieces out of my mouth before I choke. DISGUSTED read more

Came here for lunch and really enjoyed their smoothie!! It was super fresh and tasty. I had the island pacific... I can't remember exactly what was in it but it cc was bc a green smoothie. I also got the half sandwich chicken salad and although it was good, I think next time I would get a different sandwich or wrap. I arrived at 9:50am December 16, 2021. The women working looked right through me. Didn't greet me, didn't say a word. Just continued working as if there were no customers present. Then after waiting for about 5-7 minutes, without even looking at me, she states "I'll be with you in a minute". 2-3 minutes later, a women who looks opposite of me walks in. After a couple seconds of her standing there, the women comes from the back and greets her, asks her in the most pleasant tone " we're you dinning in or picking up?" The women says "I'm picking up for_____". So the lady assists her until her order was complete. Then continues to ignore me until she realizes that I wouldn't go away. So finally after about 10 minutes total from the time I walked in until the time she begrudgingly had to acknowledge my existence, she asks in a monotoned voice "do you know what you want?". I said "you know what, I'm just not going to order anything from this establishment." And I walked out. Like seriously!! This is 2021. I've decided I won't tolerate randos micro-aggressions anymore. I work hard for the money that I earn. I am going to spend it at establishments that are honest, treat everyone, not just certain people, but everyone, with dignity and respect. Just because you weren't directly rude doesn't mean you weren't indirectly rude. And it was apparent when another customer walked in. Maybe some day, this establishment will hire people who understand how to exhibit customer service the way Smoothie King seems to. I would give this place zero stars but that isn't an option on here. I LOVE the smoothies that they offer. Based off of that I would give it 5 stars. But I got some of the food for the first time yesterday. I got the Santa Fe chicken quesadilla and that was amazing!! It had a really good flavor. As my side I ordered the kale/apple slaw. And that's literally all it was. Some of the kale pieces looked to be wilted and there might have been just a little bit of sauce on there. If everything was fresh and it had more of the sauce on it I feel like it would've been really great and tasty. The sauce to dip the quesadillas in was awesome too. I had DoorDash deliver and I loved the little box that the quesadilla came in. Other than the slaw I would still order from here again. read more

I've been to this location about a dozen times. I really like their food for a quick bite. Love the wraps, especially the Buffalo chicken! I typically get a jetty punch smoothie as well. The jetty punch is awesome when blended well! But about half the time I have to re-blend it at home. I think that this is probably the only inconsistency I have come across. But overall, I think they're pretty solid. Would recommend for sure. read more

Stopped in the other day for a late lunch. I had the baja chicken bowl. I would say it is more like a salad than a bowl--much more lettuce than rice, and it was just barely warm. But as a salad it ate well--the chicken was tender and tasty, the guacamole in the salad was good, and everything blended well. I would get it again. I wasn't in the mood for a smoothie, so ended up with water--they don't have much besides a smoothie that qualifies as a drink. I've had smoothies there before--they are OK, about on par with Smoothie King and others in the area. If one is near you it's a worthwhile stop for a smoothie and sandwich. The staff at this location was obviously still learning but they tried hard. The bathroom was clean and ready to go. It's a decent choice if you want a light meal or snack. read more

Staff is very friendly, food is good, and the smoothies are amazing. They keep the place very well cleaned and the waits aren't bad at all! Tropical smoothie cafe Went in during COVID times and ordered 6 smoothie's.. yes quite a few. The kid that rang me up began making them, and then some bald headed guy comes out of the back and pumps something into the smoothie's. I said, excuse me, is there sugar in the smoothie's? He said, yes there is turbinado in all of them unless otherwise noted. I said I'm not very familiar with this place, but don't see anything on the menu regarding added sugar. He said look at the bottom. It's all the way at the bottom of the menu. I then said I was looking directly at the menu items and it is not noted anywhere in the specific menu items so I did not know. Would you mind please remaking the smoothie's as none of us wanted extra sugar water? The bald headed owner then said, I'm not remaking them. You can take them the way they are or you leave them and get out. I said I don't mind paying. I would like you to remake at least the two smoothie's with the protein powder. He said I already told you I am not remaking the smoothie's. You can take them or get the fuck out. He then begins speaking again and says I will just give you your fucking money back and you can get the fuck out. I said ok. I began walking over there and then he says no I'm not giving you your fucking money back. You can just get the fuck out or I will call the police. I just left. He nor his store are worth my time. This location is a constant disappointment. Forgot the dressing on both our salads. The salads were only half the size of the actual bowl. Wrap was nothing but an overload of chicken and cheese wrapped into some awkward square shape that made no sense. Forgot our Kale Apple Slaw. And only 1 out of 3 bags of chips was correct. read more

I heard about this place from a friend and came in the to just try out a smoothie. Maddison the girl who made my smoothie recommended a wonderful "sunrise sunset" smoothie and i was delicious! My Fiance and I frequently visit the Tropical Smoothie cafe at 2920 and Kuykendahl. This is the best location compared to others in the area. The food and smoothies are outstanding, quick, and always perfectly prepared. A particular employee at this location is one of the reasons why we visit. He wears a red shirt and silver earrings. He is so pleasant and always makes sure we are happy and satisfied. He goes above and beyond to make sure our visit is Great. This gentleman knows world class customer service and definitely should be considered for a raise or promotion. Love this place! If you like sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas and/or smoothies then it's a great lunch or snack stop. I'm not a big smoothie drinker, but I always get a smoothie with my meal here. There are lots of variations as well as high protein and low calorie varieties. I've had three different sandwiches and they're all delicious. I have a hard time deciding every time I go whether to have the same thing I had last time or try something new. Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a great lunch option. It's a lot better for you than the fast food places nearby. Many of the sandwiches contain fruit and are slightly sweet so the kids will probably love it too. read more
