BURNT CHARRED "VEGGIES or who knows"
Shardea T.

I've eaten TSC several times and even out of state. Never had I ever had burnt literally charred pieces of veggies to where I can't even determine what it is. It takes like old pieces from a grill. I have no idea why it would be okay to SERVE this. I called back and the Caucasian female who made the order was not helpful. I am pregnant and very particular.. can't eat everything. She did not offer to remake or anything. I am aware of how this should be cooked of course grilled but not BURNT to were I have to pull the pieces out of my mouth before I choke. DISGUSTED

UPDATE: So I've eaten here about a dozen times now. Still highly recommended. Top quality food and drink and owner is very involved.

I totally get the hype about this place! If I lived nearby, you can bet I'd work my way through…read moretheir whole menu. There's just something different about this style of sandwich. I've had sandwiches in NYC and Boston, but Tony's were definitely better! The menu is overwhelming because so much sounds good, so we went with two 7 inch sandwiches to split--one hot and one cold. Although a helpful tip from the cashier is that you can order any cold sandwich hot. We had the Lucky Luciano (hot) and the Sophia (cold). Both were really good--it was hard to choose between the two. But if I'm being honest, that cold sandwich was reminiscent of subs I loved in the early 2000s from places that no longer exist...with that super thinly sliced turkey, thick slice of Swiss cheese, and basil mayo--it really hit the spot. We also had a cannolo--not as good as others I've had. The bottled root beer was delightful. The Lucky Luciano was the kind of sandwich I came here for, and don't get me wrong, it is deliciously cheesy and will make your hands messy. But the Sophia is the kind of sandwich I'll be craving. My only regret was not taking a sandwich to-go for later. Open a location closer to Houston, please. :)

Many visits later it pains me to remove a star FOR BEVERAGE ISSUES ONLY (the food is still…read morefantastic). They are a pepsi place (booooooo!), and there's no diet pepsi (pepsi zero is their only zero calorie soda option). If you drink Diet Coke (most popular diet drink in USA), then you don't want diet pepsi, but you'll probably drink it if you have to; however, you're very likely to hate pepsi zero (and Coke Zero, too), so no soda for you here anymore! A full Coke setup that also includes Dr Pepper AND Diet Dr Pepper is ideal. I realize a pepsi fountain is more profitable because of distributor incentives, but pepsi is favored by almost nobody and hated by many...so is it really worth it? Tony's is so great that pepsi just does not fit in. Hopefully they don't deteriorate further and change to Wonderbread for all of their sandwiches. Bottom line: at the very least, please add diet pepsi to your soda machine if that brand remains in place.

This location recently moved from the corner of Gosling and Kuykendahl to the Grand Parkway…read moreMarketplace. I stopped in to see what's new. Had a skinny sweet heat pork BBQ sandwich, a cup of chicken pot pie soup, and the new butter brickle cookie. Washed it down with a Tractor Craft refresher, a juice blend drink. I got the Farmer's Friend, which has grape juice, and a couple other fruit juices. The sandwich was very good, some heat but not too much. It held together nicely and the skinny size was very satisfying. I would definitely get that sandwich again. The chicken pot pie soup was rich and satisfying. The top is a crumble rather than a crust but has the same flavor. The butter brickle cookie was great--nice and fresh, with just a bit of crunchy caramelization from the butter brickle filling. The refresher was an excellent complement to the meal. I am a fan of agua frescas at Tex-Mex places and these refreshers definitely remind me of them. The one I got was kind of like jicama (hibiscus on some menus). Good choice to avoid fizz. The interior is very inviting, nice wood chairs and booths. The booths have power outlets, inviting you to hang out awhile. The men's restroom was in the process of being cleaned while I was there so it would definitely have been fresh and ready. No notes, I really can't find anything critical to say.
