    Explosión mangoneada..
    Mary B.

So this place is ok, located in a not so nice area and they have a huge selection of munchies that it makes it overwhelming when you want to order. They have pictures on the menu that help when making your decision. I ordered the explosion "mangoneada" apparently I mispronounced this and I was corrected. I normally don't mind but I'm fluent in Spanish and I think the lady was just being rude. The mangoneada was nothing special, it was ok not worth $6, the tamarindo stick that comes with it was gross and tasted expired. We also ordered a bionico and my husband said the papaya in it tasted like it was expired.. not good. Kids got a raspado (trioles) and they seem to enjoy that. This place has a huge variety of different fruit , and snacks to try. The service was ok, located in a shopping center so there's a lot of parking.

Hot Cheetos with cheese sauce? This is one of a number of unusual snacks, and their unique sauces, offered at what would appear to be a typical Latino frescas and ice cream joint, with a counter service and a couple of tiny two-seater tables. Of course, it's sign says "Frutas y Helados", so there is a large variety of juices, snow cones, fruit milk shakes, ice cream. Other interesting choices: - Variety of Fruit salads, some with special cream sauce, and some with chili sauce - Healthy Juices, with celery, parsley, beets, carrots, and of course, fruits - Doritos with Mexican corn and cheese sauce - Tostados del Moco (#42): Cueritos, cabbage, avocado, tomato and Cleme's special sauce (oh yeah, "cueritos" are pork rinds) - Pork meat with Jalisco style sauce - Gaby's special sauce - House's special sauce (I guess you get the idea ... lot's of special sauces) The place was clean, not too old, like you might expect of a chain. Basic English is understood. My meal: #43 Tostados de la Chacha (ham, cabbage, avocado, tomato, and house's special sauce. It was good, but the special sauce is the special thing about it. #44 Tostados de Tinga a la Gaby's (chicken (looks and tastes a bit like pulled pork BBQ) with avocado, lettuce, chopped tomato, thin layer of beans on tostada shell and Gaby's special sauce. The food and drink are average. Prices are cheap, except for the healthy juices, which start at $4.50 for 20 oz size. The thing that makes this place rise above average are the sauces. That is what will bring me back. This is one saucy place!

Just because my skin is brown and I have black hair they assume I speak Spanish lol. I was able to order by pointing. I got the lime trole. Very good stuff. Everyone is very friendly. . Parking sucks. Wish they had watermelon juice. Owners get watermelon juice asap!

My kids love coming here but it can get expensive. The place is very small and parking is tight sometimes since the place gets crowded. It's worth the wait and better then Zero Degrees!

Uh how about no I ordered a small mangonada and it was $2.50. I gave the guy at the register a single $20 bill and .50 cents and he gave me back a penny. Even if I was to give him $2 it would have been two ones and so what the hell was he thinking was he that dumb. Everyone there including him didn't even understand English so the whole time we were talking he didn't understand. He stood there and argued with me for a good minute disagreeing with me. It took him to 10min to give me my mangonada and that was because I yelled at him what's taking so long so he went and made it for me. Never again returning. Mangonada wasn't even that good

    Yummy Bionico!

My favorite place for Mexican ice cream and Mexican Tortas. This time I have a Torta del Chavo, and for dessert mango and chamoy ice cream. Chamoy is a unique Mexican ingredient between sweetness and sour and spicy mix. We take a bionico for to go.

EXPLOSIONES this was delicious! sweet, salty, a little spicy. it's everything.

I made a visit to the store in the afternoon when I was really craving something fruity and refreshing. I walked and was greeted with a smile from the lady at the register. I ordered the Explosion. I believe it had mangonada, strawberries, freshly cut mangoes, chamoy, and candy! It was sweet, sour, a little salty, and a little spicy--everything to make it just delicious! I loved this treat and will definitely make another visit for it!

My family and I love coming to El Kiosko for their cold desserts. Mangonada is my fave. My kids love getting to choose from a variety of ice creams. I love that it only costs $1.75 for the kids size cups. Great place to cool down with refreshing desserts. They also have food here, which I have never tried but looks good. So happy they have opened near home

Loved everything about it can believe I bearly knew about this place will be coming here a lot ! The prices are very reasonable btw

The big half had the surprise :)
    Mom B.

First half of Torta de Gabby (I think that is the name) was ok. I couldn't give you a full review because soon after I felt something hard in my mouth, now lets get our heads out of the gutter :) it was a huge piece of plastic. My friend described it as one of the divider tabs that you use for filing, yep it was that big but thicker. I kind of think it think it looked like a spoon from mcdonalds that they give you with a Mcflurry. While I may not go back to this place I do have to say it was clean looking on the inside and cute. They did offer a new torta but after that I am like yeaaaaaah I'm good. My date got a Torta de chavo and asked for no tomato or lettuce and they gave her both, but overall she enjoyed most of it as well.

    Explosion is the name

This was my first time, and I was very impressed. The line wasn't long and you can see the workers preparing what you've order. I saw lots of fresh fruit EVERYWHERE, pretty awesome. I had the Explosion. It was about what I expected really. Everything was fresh which makes a big difference imo. Not too many places to sit inside. I'll be back, but I'll be trying another location next time.

This picture of a pictures picture had me come here and it was great!! So now I must post a picture of a pictures picture!

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. Knafeh ($6) - They offered 2 types of knafeh, one with cheese and one with custard. I went with the one made with Nabulsi cheese and topped with shredded phyllo, and soaked in sugar syrup. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. Overall I was impressed with everything they offered here with the exception of the nuts, which I thought were just ok. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. When I asked questions, there was a language barrier, and the staff member behind the counter was unable to clearly explain what the items were in English. This can be especially frustrating for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

We all liked the harry potter experience and some different anime type experiences as well that my children liked. We came on the weekends, but during lunchtime, and I can see how they might be really busy during the dinner rush. Sometimes you might need a timed entry to go in, but thankfully, we have not since we've been going. I will say that it's quite small and gets cramped really fast. I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely up your alley. Ruby - visually this looks like a strawberry Hershey kiss, with red powder on the exterior and a top piece of foil to resemble foil on the wrapper of a hershey kiss. The soft drinks to drink along with your sweets are in a cold case along the hotel side of the space and you just take them to the register as you order. Since we were already in the area after breakfast at TJ's Filipino Cuisine, we finally got the chance to stop by and try their baked goods for ourselves. We arrived early, so the bakery wasn't too busy yet. The bakers were busy prepping more goodies in the back while my cousin and I browsed all the Filipino baked goods we really miss from back home in the Philippines. They even had suman, sapin-sapin, biko, and other kakanin, which was nice to see. I specifically looked for the chicken empanada, and my cousin wanted to try the ube white chocolate chip cookie. We also saw different kinds of siopao and planned to come back later to buy some before heading back to San Antonio. We tried the ube white chocolate chip cookie first, but honestly we weren't totally satisfied. It tasted more like a regular white chocolate chip cookie with purple coloring and didn't really have much ube flavor. I also tried the chicken empanada. My cousin didn't like it because it was sweeter than expected--we were both expecting it to be savory. There seemed to be caramelized sugar in the outside of the pastry, which probably added to the sweetness. I still like it, though it was definitely sweeter than what I'm used to. Red Ribbon's chicken empanada is still my favorite. Later that day before leaving Houston, we came back for the siopao we planned to take home. We finally decided to just buy a couple pieces for ourselves, heat them up in the bakery, and try them fresh. When we saw the price for a four-pack, we were honestly disappointed. It felt expensive for the size. The siopao wasn't huge, and while I like the dough, there wasn't much chicken filling inside. For the portion, taste, and quality, it felt overpriced. Overall, it's probably not worth making another trip back for us. We did enjoy the cassava ube suman, and I like the chicken empanada, but not enough to drive all the way to Houston just for those. If I live nearby, I might come back to try other baked goods, but based on this visit, I'm not sure the rest would impress my palate. I still give them credit for cleanliness and customer service, although we did notice fruit flies on one of the shelves and reported it. The staff was friendly, and the bakery itself was welcoming. At the end of the day, since they're a bakery, the expectation is great-tasting, quality, mouthwatering Filipino breads, pastries ", and kakanin. While some items were enjoyable, overall it just didn't quite live up to the hype for us.
