We came in because I saw online that they were having a free smoothie day in February and came in at that time. I had called before heading out to make sure they were still doing it, and they said that they were. By the time we got there, they said that they were not doing it anymore, and they ran out of all the supplies. I even told them that I had called before leaving my house and they said that they just ran out. I would have appreciated if they would have checked how much supplies they had before telling people to come up for the smoothies. My family and I drove up there. Multiple people came in after us looking for the free item and turned around and walked away when they did not get it. However, we thought we already drove up there, so we decided to support them. I'm not trying to give a bad review because I did not receive a free smoothie. We bought smoothies for the family so the trip wasn't wasted. My son is a huge mango lover, and that's the one he got and he did not like it at all, although I did not think it was bad. It wasn't sweet and didn't taste like mango. But I digress. One of my daughters got the matcha and we literally all tried it and had to throw it away because no one in our family liked it. I got the spirulina one and I liked the color, but it's not something I would particularly go out and get. Overall, I feel like I'm being very relaxed with my review because it ended up being a nice little family outing. But the final straw for us was the bathrooms. The bathroom was not clean and I had to clean the toilet before allowing my child to use it. We saw a man and woman bringing in supplies while we were there, but it got late and we had to go. I'm not sure if they would have even honored making the free drinks at that point anyways, but at this point everyone in our family tried them and did not like it. Free drinks are not why I am disappointed, but more so that that the bathroom was not clean and it smelled weird in there and no one liked their smoothie in our family. The website is nice and the flavor options are fun, but the flavors and textures never hit quite right for me. My most recent pick-up experience was especially disappointing. I placed an order on the website over 30 minutes ahead of my arrival so that I could pick up a smoothie and make it to work on time. I set the pick-up time to 9:10am so that it would definitely be ready by the time I arrived. When I walked in at 9:15am, the employee hadn't even started on my order yet... and ultimately, I didn't walk out of the store until **9:28** am with my smoothie, and I needed to be at work at 9:30am. The employee herself was completely polite, but didn't acknowledge the fact that the smoothie was being made late. I understand life happens, but for an order made over 30 minutes in advance on the website, the store didn't seem busy enough to justify how late my order came out. My actual smoothie's texture was just too thick and the flavor felt muted, like the fruit in it needed more ripening. I did like it more after it had sat out for an hour or two and melted a bit, but due to my overall experience, I could not justify the steep price point. I see now that reviews here are pretty mixed. I just finished a cycling class at the CycleBar and wanted something light. Since I have to stay in the Vintage Park area and have an hour to kill, I looked up smoothie on Yelp. First thing to pop up was Clean Juice and only 1 minute from me. Score! Food - I wanted something different from what I can make at home. Mangoes 'N Cream with Hemp got my attention with the Tumeric. It's also marked as new protein smoothie flavor. I like it! I can taste the banana and mango. There's a slight nutty taste and texture. It's not too tart and not too sweet. The smoothie is freshly made too! Service - I was the only one at the time at 1030AM so it was quick! The server was really helpful. Usually these kind of places, I expect to pay quite a bit for smoothie because eating healthy is a luxury. It was great that the server informed me about their app, which gave me $5 off automatically. The discount is worth it so definitely consider downloading the app. Ambiance - The place looks modern and clean. Check out the photos. Could see folks hanging out inside. This is a really nasty place to walk into in person. First off it smells awful. Then you get to the counter, where you'll find no one standing, and see an area of "fresh" fruits and vegetables that have turned brown and have fleas eating on it. The service there is horrible- they are not friendly nor accommodating (that's a whole different story, but don't ever ask for ice bc they won't give it to you, even if you want to pay for it) This place looks great on photos for delivery services, but if those customer knew what it really looked like in there- they would NOT order from here. I thought the review about the racist employee was a joke until I came here and became a victim of the racist employee. Her name is Skylar she was the only employee there and told me she is also the manager and general manager and I couldn't speak to anyone else. I spent more than $80 here on a cleanse and smoothie for my son. The smoothie was rancid. I alerted Skylar the food was bad and asked her to make him another smoothie with different ingredients. She said it's impossible for anything to be bad because it's frozen. She refused to make another smoothie unless I paid her another $6. She was incredibly rude, hateful, and treated me like I was trying to steal $6 from her. She rolled her eyes at me and said "You can't return FOOD!" So then I returned my $60 worth of cleanse juices. The customer service is horrible do not go here. I had a birthday reward on Clean Juice app for a free sparkler drink so I got the sparkler and I told them I want my drink sweet. Also I had a conversation before she started to make my drink that the drink needs to be sweet and will ONLY have pineapple, orange, mango only. The lady added lemon without telling me which I found out after I drink it. I told her it tastes bitter and I did not get 16 oz like I was supposed to. She said "You are bitching about a free drink." I told her we discussed about it and she says "You can read the print like I can". She was talking about the board that was up there. I asked her to put honey and she said "We charge for that then I asked can you put sparkling water to make my drink 16 ounces they also refused it. That's the goal here less harmful chemicals and less sugar. Now if you go to smoothie king they don't offer juices but there smoothies have amounts of sugars! Let's get in! I've had a few of there juices here but I'm a fan of the smoothies because I do internment fast during the day a lot. So it keeps me full. I go with the " the recovery one" with hemp! Plant base. It's still a low sweet taste but you can tell it's plant based! I do wish the sizes were maybe just an oz or two bigger for people like me that do space out there meals! I have zero complaints though Something I always utilize here is the prayer box. I always leave a prayer for myself ( family or friends). I like other choices here to as in there salads/ snacks. Two stars truly because the juices are the only thing that stand out here. I came in for cleanse and some information. I did not receive any except to instantly be charged for a second level cleanse while I'm a beginner. Since I came for a cleanse I felt obliged to follow through as the lady was on a roll telling me they did not have the 3 days available so I had to do this in 2 trips. Before I knew it was about 231.00 dollars in (a quick precaution , when paying watch for the tip request as it will calculate to include any full cleanse order mine came up to 33.00) don't mind tipping but it's gotta make sense. Anywhoo the first and only day available I took care with little guidance , thank god for instructions on the box. Full of flavor and you could tell it was organic and fresh. Green juice is probably the healthiest thing you can put in your body. Right away you know you are running on clean fuel. I ordered the loaded avocado toast which was supposed to include tomato and vinaigrette dressing as well as cucumber and spring mix. I also paid $1 extra for hemp seeds. When I walked in the store was empty and both of the workers were making food and I didn't see any Togo boxes on the counter for pick up. I said I placed an online order and no one acknowledged that they heard me or were working on it. They looked busy so I decided maybe they were behind and I was a few minutes early so I used the restroom (which needed to be cleaned) and came back out and waited patiently. When I walked up to the register, one of the workers made a phone call to another customer to let them know they were out of two or three items from their order (including tomatoes). The customer wanted to cancel the order but they don't know how to do that and you have to wait for the manager who apparently was not there. When she was done she looked at me with a slight smile, and I repeated that I was waiting for an online order. She went over to a shelf on the back of their workspace where my box had been sitting. Apparently it was ready all that time. I asked why no one acknowledged that they heard me when I walked in or, if they didn't hear me, asked to help me. She didn't say anything. I asked if they were overworked there because the last time I came in, last week, a different worker was there and she seemed to be alone and busy and didn't acknowledge customers who walked in-but I somewhat understood since there were customers she was working on. Still no response. I'm not trying to be down in the workers, especially if they are overworked, but it seems that management needs to do a little customer service training at this location. By the way, I paid $2 extra for my loaded toast which should have included tomatoes and a dressing, plus another $1 extra for hemp seeds. What I got was no tomatoes and straight olive oil for the dressing-which I didn't realize until I tasted it. No one mentioned to me that they were out of anything; when I called back to ask of the dressing is supposed to be just olive oil, I found out they were out of the dressing too. I only knew about the tomatoes from overhearing the phone call to another customer. I don't understand how they can be out of several items either. The premade juice fridge was only about 15% full as well. I have a call in to the manager who apparently won't be in for three days...I want to like this place but each time I have come in, the customer service has been quite lacking. I always went in to get their ice because their water is filtered and their ice is NICE!! they always served me without hassle and they really made a not so good time better for us, but just being hospitable, no giving of free food or anything...a smile and compassion goes a long way!!! The juices were tasty but of course there were some I really enjoyed and some that I was not feeling. The sweet green was tasty the greens in the juice made it refreshing to start the morning. The orange wasn't that bad either as it was sweet just overwhelming when you get to the last sip. The yellow tasted similar to a really watered down lemonade. The red was probably my least favorite as the beet made it taste like dirt. Then finally the white would be the most satisfying if one as it tasted like a actually dessert. Again it is overwhelming cause when you get to the last few sips it becomes too sweet. You def have to be discipline as you do the juice cleanses. Longest review of my life: I've been to this Clean Juice before and usually - they are good with my order. There have been hiccups in the past where they gave me the wrong online food order or didn't add in something that I initially asked and paid for but overall - it's been decent and worth coming too. Today though - it was a complete disappointment and I'm really upset about it, and it doesn't help that my name is "Karen" but I'm going to be honest with everyone. If this is how service and the drinks are going to be made from here on out - don't waste your money, time, and breath with this place. I came in at a few minutes before 3pm, and no was at the front. There was a family eating and 2 people wearing a Clean Juice shirt but I wasn't sure if they were employees off on their break or just ended a shift or a mom visiting her son to eat. I'm waiting - patiently - but no one comes for about 5 min at least. That might not seem like a long time but it's confusing when it's not busy and no one is around to greet you at all. I ask the lady if someone is here working and she says, "yeah at least 2 people are here." So I wait and about 30 seconds later - a girl comes out and greets me. She's nice and friendly and apologizes and I'm cool. I've been a server before and worked at Starbucks before. I try to cut people slack bc I have been there. I tell her I want the hard core drink and if I could add an apple and ginger to it. She gets it and I pay and I donate 25 cents to the charity that they supporting at the moment. She starts to make my drink (takes awhile but I don't fuss or anything). I get the drink and say thank you and I head back to Austin (I'm going to school up there). Well, I'm driving off and I take a sip and there is absolutely NO GINGER and NO APPLE. Then, I noticed how the color of the drink was only green at the top and semi brown at the bottom half of it. I wasted $15-$16 on this drink. I'm not sure what happened because I have ordered this drink 50x before at this same place and it has NEVER looked like that before (brown and green). Why didn't I go back to tell them? Bc I was already on the road back to Austin, and didn't have time to drive back and complain.
