Very different than the other Brazilian steak houses I've been too. Loved their seating spaces and their table setting for their salad bar was extravagantly beautiful. Their salads were fresh and there's a lot of varieties. Same idea as any table side service you get at other places, But this one had some great staff and the cuts of meat were so delicious and done to specifications. About $70 per person but it's all worth it. They even give servings of mash potatoes to go with your meals. All their meats were seasoned well and so tasty. The meat was absolutely delicious 5 star for food! The salad bar was not great (we went on a weekday, maybe their is less options), they had soup, empanadas, and other options. The cheesy bread was amazing! I just love it at all restaurants but here it was fresh and they kept it coming. The cheese and honey delicious. The servers asked how we liked our meat and what meats we wanted and brought them out. Again, perhaps because we went during week, but the meats did not come out as regularly scheduled or with as much variety as other Brazilian Steakhouses we have visited. It had been a while since we'd been to a Brazilian Steakhouse and they are generally a safe bet to get your money's worth, considering the AYCE nature of these places. I was very impressed with what a well oiled machine the service was. Everyone working here was hustling and efficient. Everything was brought out at such a high rate of speed, we were convinced that there was a hidden camera at our table and a manager barking out commands to his staff. At one point, my wife said, "I wish they had cooked shrimp", and in less than 10 seconds, a guy came by with shrimp on his skewer. The buffet had some hits: the cocktail shrimp, the bacon, the salmon, the corn. Everything else was just okay. If I could go back in time, I would have just gotten those four things and skipped the rest. Not that anything was bad, but stomach space is at a premium here. I will also say that I ordered a coconut caipirinhas and it was amazing. I will definitely be on the lookout for this drink in the future. And shoutout to the bread too - that Brazilian cheese bread is always a hit. But as for the meat... the filet mignon was definitely awesome and the clear star of the show. The rest of it was mostly just okay. Again, with the benefit of hindsight, I would have literally just piled my plate with filet mignon and been quite happy. Maybe add a couple grilled shrimp in there too. Nothing else really stood out though. I disliked the beef ribs because they basically tasted like beef stew meat. And the parmesan pork was aggressively dried out. I am not a lamb person, so I won't hold that against them. If we ever return, I will follow my hindsight advice, but to be honest, I'd probably just opt for a steakhouse next time and experience quality over quantity. read more

I've never been to a Brazilian Steak House before but Gauchos Do Sul has placed the bar high! The restaurant's lighting is on the dimmer side and dress code is pretty casual/business casual. There are plenty of tables and seating- private rooms for reservations are located in the back. Restrooms are nice and clean with a classy décor. The soup/salad bar has a variety of different cold cuts, cheese, and veggies. They also have seafood like cocktail shrimp and salmon loxs. Out of everything I got, I really enjoyed their soup (I believe it was lobster bisque), bread, and roasted eggplant. Their appetizers were also fantastic- they had bread with cheese inside (super addicting/dangerous), polenta fries, mashed potatoes, etc. As for the meats, everything was solid. Definitely get their special (Picanha) and the Fraldinha. The other cuts of meat (i.e. ribeye, calf steak, chicken wings) were okay. But their seafood (shrimp and octopus) was a pleasant surprise! Something that I actually could not get enough of was their grilled pineapple. It has cinnamon sugar on top and the sweetness/acidity of the fruit paired very well with some of the fattier cuts of meat. As for dessert, you have an option of either tres leches cake, tiramisu, or churros. I ended up going with the churros which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The churros were perfectly fried and had a sweet crème filling. Even though I was so full by the time dessert came, the churros and ice cream were so good I ended up eating it all lol. Aside from the delicious food, the service here was fantastic! I appreciate how fast/diligent the servers were for our big group. Aside from making sure our plates were always full of meat, they were very attentive on our waters and taking away dishes that were no longer needed. The salad bar was a bit sad, but we were there on a Tuesday, so I wouldn't expect much from a salad bar - I hope it is better / has fresher selections and variety over the weekend. This place has it all For $65/person (dinner and weekend price), you get an all you can eat experience. The service was friendly and group style , so several servers will come to your table. You get Brazilian bread as a starter & you can request the other hot appetizers that come with the buffet (rice, black beans, masked potatoes, and fried polenta) that are bright to the table. All other accompaniments are at the buffet. There are a variety of salads, veggies, cheeses, fruits, and some hot potatoes and plantains. There is so much to choose from. I walked by a few restaurant in this large shopping center, and this place actually looked closed. I asked a mall employee I saw walking around about good places to eat steak, I'm in Texas after all, and after a short interrogation season I realized this place was open. I love Brazilian Steakhouses! I go to them often. Although this wasn't my absolute favorite, it wasn't a bad one at all. They staff was incredibly attentive, the meats kept coming at you piping hot, and the drinks were good. The staff did a few great deeds for me by bringing out dipping sauces and hot peppers and onions - a little something that I learned to ask for at these places over the years. The only thing that was missing were a few things from the grand salad bar that I'm used to seeing at Brazilian Steakhouses and it was a little more crowded than most. Nothing was bad though and I will definitely be back here, once I get over my current case of the meat sweats. Cheers! read more

I had dinner here for a work event, and like all the Brazilian steakhouses I've had the privilege to dine in, the service, ambiance, and food were incredible. I was given two drink tickets as a courtesy for the event, but I gave them to a coworker since I was completely satisfied with my endless refills of non-alcoholic Brazilian lemonade. This steakhouse served cuts of all of my favorite meats, but when I asked a waiter if they had any garlic beef, he replied that they did not. I was completely okay with that, but he came back a few moments later with a single portion of garlic beef that the kitchen made especially for me. It was delicious. Because of this and the fantastic service throughout the night, I wasn't even upset when I left the restaurant and discovered my purse had meat juice all over (and inside) it. It is likely because I hung it off the side of my chair; but because there was hardly any space in the event room we were in, the waiters were in close contact with us and the backs of our chairs. It was hard to avoid a mess as they sliced the meat between myself and the people sitting to either side of me. I am not criticizing the waiters for this at all, but I wish I had been offered the option to use a bag rack. This doesn't deter me much as I'm already looking forward to my next visit here... but I'll skip bringing a purse next time. read more

This is one of the first times I've every written a negative review. 1.) The overwhelming and overbearing customer service has to stop. I don't want to be asked if I need a new plate after every bite. I don't have to be asked anything every minute and I timed jt after the 15th time I was asked if everything was ok. (all within my half hour of seating) calculate it and that means every 1.5-2 mins someone was pressuring me to answer them. 2.) I said please give me space between the waiters, waitresses, and gauchos. I already turned my card over after half an hour because I just wanted to chew my meat; but once again, thank you another question. 3.) I cut my meat- and someone is next to me pressuring me to answer them again. 4.) I am in my late 40's and never experienced such an uncomfortable and stressful dinner experience. 5.) chimichurri here tasted different, more tangy than I've ever had it. 6.) my stomach hurts from anxiety. This was the most expensive dinner I've paid for that I did not like. 7.) I've been eating in Brazilian steakhouses for over 20 years, this one was the worst because management sucks. Your training your staff wrong. You're hurting your Resturant because at 7pm, you're so empty on a Friday night. I can see why. No one wants this kind of pressure and to become irritable during dinner or a meal. 8.) the management wanted to collect my military id, even after showing them to the waiter, just so they can bring it back to management. Are you kidding? Why would I give you my id, to take it back where? 9.) we will not be eating at this location anymore. Hard truth is that we are closer to the vintage, and now will have to drive elsewhere for churrascaria. I wish this never happened and I'm so disgusted. read more

Stellar service, despite being so busy that practically every table was full. Attention is given cooperatively, with several servers checking in on us. And while he wasn't the primary server for our table specifically, I have to give a thank you & shoutout to "Alex," who was especially helpful in addressing our menu questions and checked with the kitchen several times regarding our allergen questions! Now, if you've frequented other churrasco-style restaurants like we have, there are a few comparisons: - Salad bar had more variety (favorite was the zesty pasta salad with banana peppers), and the sides were slightly more elevated (like the sautéed mushrooms and praline-style bananas), and there were a few seafood options included in the regular dinner price (like jumbo shrimp cocktail & grilled shrimp). For added touch, fresh honey is offered next to the mountain of candied bacon. - However, the meats aren't as delectable. Several cuts were grisly and dry, with the fat not rendered down to be edible. And if you're a lamb-lover like me, you might be just as disappointed. The leg of lamb was severely overcooked and the lamb chops were scrawny and shriveled up. The flavor (lack of seasoning) & texture (not expertly cooked) of many of my favorites were left to be desired. ...So, depending on what dishes you're aiming to build your meal around, the food is a hit or miss. Also, if you're looking for a place with nice scenery or aesthetics, this isn't it. There are no windows in the dining area, so the inside feels very dim & confined. The outside is no better, with no grand entrance or photo-worthy spots. Overall, it was a decent dining experience (thanks mostly to the great service), but given the option I'd choose a different Brazilian steakhouse over this one. read more

Our go to is Fogo de Chao because of convenient locations more so, but lately have found the quality declining. Full disclosure, I am friends with the owner of Gauchos Do Sul, but their 3 locations are out of the way for us. On this occasion it was a group business dinner and the group wanted "meat." This location was convenient for the group. GSL is sooo much better than FDC! Much higher quality salad bar.......but this isn't about rabbit food......it's about the meat. The salad bar was carefully maintained and spruced up every minute, I'm not kidding. Our waiters very attentive and friendly. This place is immaculate. Just check out the restrooms! What a perfect evening for our 27th anniversary celebration. The salad bar is full of delicious choices, everything from wedge salads and fresh cheeses to crispy bacon and fresh seasoned asparagus. As usual the salad bar is too beautiful to pass up, and even though I tell myself every time that I am going to skip it to assure myself room for my favorites from the gauchos, I fall victim to the sheer eye candy of it all. To be honest, I could eat just 3 things there and be completely satisfied. The beef rib, the grilled pineapple, and the mozzarella drizzled with honey, those 3 things are my trifecta, and what I aim to end my meal with.
