It's salad. It's hard to get excited about it. The best part about this place is that they have a ton of various options for all kinds of things to put in your salad bowl. Shit tons of green stuff, lots of cheese, lots of other vegetables, some fruits and shit, and even a bunch of nuts. You can pretty much have whatever the hell you want on a pile of green veggies. That is unless you want some low calorie dressing. Every dressing they have (with the exception of 2 shitty Fat Free ones) is creamy. Can you please offer at least two non-creamy dressings that are low in calories? Really, you don't even have a Lite Italian? Seriously, pretty much anything that the word "vinaigrette" in it will probably suffice. I don't eat salad because I love it. I eat it to eat healthy. So please, offer me a few dressings that don't taste like ass that have fewer than 212 calories per serving. A 2 oz serving of Wish Bone Balsamic Vinaigrette has about half the calories of your Balsamic... how is that possible? Oh yeah, it's also pretty expensive for a salad. I spent about $12 on a chicken salad. I think that's too much. This ended up being longer than I intended, so I will leave you with the tl:dr version: Go here for expensive salad with creamy dressings. read more

About the best salad I have ever had. Very large buffet area to make every possible selection from vegetables to meats to dressings. Everything very fresh and the people extremely nice. read more

The day has finally come! I have been longing for this type of place for some time now and I couldn't be happier it exists not far from my work place. Salata has tons of options- so much that your plate may end up a huge smorgasbord of stuff by the time you're done. For $8, you get all the veggies you want, any type of lettuce you desire and a slice of bread with either pesto, chipotle rub or just plain ole' whole wheat. If you want meat or seafood, it's a bit extra but its easy to finish off just under $10. They also offer soups and wraps but the salad bowl, filled with as much fresh ingredients you could ask for, is just the perfect sustenance to leave you feeling pleasantly content. read more

This place makes having a salad for lunch a good thing! Puck your green mix, what you want on it and the protein and dressing. And man do they have anything you'd Want and things you didn't even think you'd want. Everything is fresh and delicious and their dressings are as good as they get. The salad fills me up and I don't even half to add a protein with it either. They have a piece of bread with it and I always get the Multigrain as it is sweet and yummy. Put it this way, even dudes seem to love this place ;) read more

I've been here several times so far this summer (I'm a teacher, so summer is my relaxing, wandering around, hitting lunch spots time) and Salata simply never disappoints when you are in the mood for a salad. At home, I make salads in a huge bowl so that there is plenty of room to toss them to get the dressing and ingredients evenly distributed. They do the same thing here at Salata. I can't finish the regular size in one sitting, but their take home containers keep it fresh in my fridge and it is just as yummy later, not soggy like I worried. I don't know how anyone could be disappointed in the selection of clearly very FRESH! ingredients to choose from to build your ideal salad. I love the broccoli soup. I haven't tried the others because ... I love the broccoli soup. I almost didn't get the multigrain croissant the first visit- seemed unnecessary. But it's one of my favorite parts of the meal now. YUM. I also love their large selection of iced teas. The customer service is embarrassingly amazing! They greet you coming in, say goodbye as you leave, and have a full staff of people ready to meet your needs in the meantime. The space is CLEAN. It's delightful and comfortable to eat in. But if you are in a rush (or a sweaty mess after a walk or a swim like happens here in summer), do try the online ordering. Or just come in and order and take it to go. They do the to-go orders exactly in the same high quality way they do the eat in salads. No skimping, same value. I love that. Quick zip in and back out with delicious salad either way. read more

Salads are really unbelievable, with many options from which to choose. Fresh, high quality ingredients. Perfect place to grab a healthy lunch during the work week. Dressings are tasty. Better than salads I get at most restaurants. read more

Wow! I'm a pescetarian and so I frequent salad places a lot. I'm in town for a conference and decided to give Salata a try based on the reviews. They have a larger selection of quality ingredients than any other of this genre I've ever seen. I'm very pleased with my choice, and will dine here again when I'm leaving town and during any other trip to Austin. read more

The food is Out Of This World delicious and not to pricey. Love the Staff. A Top-Notch experience. Thank you =)

This place is a gem! You can enjoy a fresh, crunchy salad on the go! The portions are generous and you can get some unique dressings. If you want a healthy alternative to run of the mill fast food, you'll probably like this. read more

Great price and great salad - what really got me was that they asked if I had a peanut allergy - I don't, but my daughter does. the fact they asked is huge - they really get it. and I love having a business that is understanding to the severity of this allergy. read more

I've eaten at this new Salata three times now. Two of the three times I've suffered gastrointestinal issues as a result. I love that the line people wear gloves, but what about hair nets? A business of this sort needs to take ultra precautions about washing and cutting up produce well. Are they buying local? Recycling? read more

Fresher than I expected at 7:30pm and really tasty. Lots and lots of options. Avocado is cut fresh which is nice. I got a regular sized salad, two premium proteins, and mixed the ranch and herb vinaigrette. Also a cup of broccoli soup. Way, WAY too much food for one person but it was delicious, especially the soup. Will get a small salad and soup next time. Very tasty green tea. read more

I go to this location everytime im craving simple, great variety and fresh food. I'm a huge fan of their wraps and their simple salads are awesome as well. They are clean quick and they are both good to eat in and take out. I usually order from here with a group and they have never messed up a single order in a 1 year of working in this area. There service is great and the staff has always been polite to me and my friends. I will see you next time im craving a fresh salad. Go and enjoy it. read more

Great place to eat. Wonderful outdoor seating. Dog friendly. Large portions. Small salad will fill you up. This is a unique place to come to build your own salad or wrap. All food fresh and tasty with variety of meats to add if you prefer. read more

If you are looking for a fresh and healthy salad with a lot of topping options, this is your place. Friendly people to serve you and very clean place. It is a little pricey ($12-15) but worth it! read more

Typical chain, some are franchises, out of Houston. You walk across a giant salad bar, like a line of cattle, and pick your foods. It's a rushed situation, with no dining pleasure. The people behind the counter put the selected items in the silver mixing bowl. People are in a hurry, or, at the very least, in a hurry to be healthy. The items did not look spoiled; they seemed fresh. Very few tables available at lunch time. Be prepared to be flexible about staying or getting it to go. I was generally unimpressed. If you are on a salad diet and do not require a pleasant atmosphere, then this place is for you. read more

Came here with my 2 year old last weekend and we enjoyed it. I was glad to see that they have a kid's option which is a smaller salad or wrap. I think it was like three veggies and a protein or something like that. Unlimited toppings for adult size, I believe. My small human went crazy for the raspberry lemonade which was probably way too much sugar for him but a rare treat. We got wraps and I think I'll stick with salad next time. Didn't love the pita chips that came with my wrap. The place was very clean with nice bathrooms (but no changing table). A little pricey but very fresh and tasty. As another reviewer said it would be a plus to have the available ingredients posted at the front so that if you are a newbie you can think about what you want and formulate a plan before going through the line and ending up with random toppings that might not mesh well. read more

This seems like it'd be a great place. Soo many choices of vegis, etc. But I found the meat to be of painfully low quality (got the chicken) and the pricing to be high. Fact is I can pay $11 for a better salad elsewhere. read more

Near my hotel and fast, friendly, and delicious. Yeah, it's a salad chain, so what. It's tasty. They have a large assortment of choices that make it impossible not to find something yummy. Goes without saying there are lots of vegetarian choices. read more

Excellent greens, vegetables, and chicken! Was very impressed. Restaurant was packed and clean.

I love coming here all the time, they have fresh, healthy, absolutely delicious and well priced food! They have endless amounts of toppings, and all of the employees are extremely kind! I would recommend to anyone who is a salad lover like myself. read more

I love this place. I must admit when I took Gary he's like what's the fuss it's just salad! Just salad--not when you all the garden veggies, sprots, proteins, bread, soup.-you name it for salad they probably have it. My only wish is that they had a better selection of low fat or low calorie dressing. read more

We stopped in at Salata for the first time last week for a quick dinner before an appointment we had. First off, the place is clean, airy and was largely empty. Bianca helped us and she was so patient and friendly, I have to give her a shout out. She let us sample quite a few things as we were unsure about dressings and which toppings to choose. For a quick, healthy-ish meal, this might now be my number one spot in North Austin. Side note: It was nice to not pay $15 for a salad at Whole Foods for a change! read more

Wow! So glad I found this place. I'm used to salad places that charge by weight and I end up with a $17 salad on accident. The flat rate pricing makes me not so anxious when I want to load up my bowl, and not so guilty when I only want 3 toppings and ranch dressing. The lettuce is crisp and all the veggies are bite size and very fresh. The customer service is outstanding; everyone was pleasant. The variety of different brewed teas was a fun flavor adventure and a nice change from typical restaurants. read more

I don't usually like salad but you make your own and they have fresh ingredients. :) everything is fresh and clean and they have yummy lemonade! read more

Oh how I have missed Fresh Choice over the last several years. Finally someone has brought a worthy substitute to the area. It's hard to point to anything they do wrong. Reasonable prices, great service, and everything I could want in a salad. The only thing they did wrong was to pick a shopping center that's a nuisance go in at lunch time. I expect to eat here multiple times per week. read more

Finally! I found a salad bar in Austin. I have seen places like this in other parts of the country and was dying for one to open in Austin. Luckily Salata met my expectations of a fresh and healthy salad bar. They offer a great variety of veggies, meats, and dressings. The tomato basil soup is to die for. The staff was very friendly. Overall my salad was delicious, filling, healthy, and fresh. I will definitely go here again! read more

Still getting 5 stars although long lines and a lack of seating during peak lunch hours. Other than that, such a great experience overall. Fresh, decently priced and great product. Always my first choice when I head to the arbor walk for lunch. Recommend get there before 11 or after 12:45 for an amazing salad. read more

I love the ability to customize my salad but twice in a row now they have failed to give me the dessert that I paid for. This last time they didn't even get the toppings on my salad right. I am done. read more

Yay! Finally a fresh salad bar in Austin! Souper salad was secretly one of my favorite places to get a fresh salad but most of them have closed since their ingredients continued to get cheaper and cheaper over the years. Salata has high quality ingredients and fresh marinated meats to go on the salad as well. For about $10-15 you can get a rockin salad with soup & bread. Will definitely be returning on a regular basis. read more

I am loving this place with their huge variety of ingredients, all of which are fresh and appetizing. Many dressing choices is another plus.
