I love this place! It's a salad bar but they put the ingredients in your bowl for you so you don't have to worry about some random person sneezing on the open salad bar. There are at least 3 different greens to choose from, plenty of fresh vegetables, homemade dressings, and chicken or seafood. Salata is always immaculate every time I go. Once I figured out the right combination of flavors I have been hooked on getting the same salad every time. I like the Salata mix with vegetables, honey mustard dressing, and shrimp. This place is incredible. From the staff to the food - you can't beat it. In this newly developed little pocket off of 30 you will find a Tiff's Treats, Tokyo Joe's and a new pizza concept coming in. When I saw Salata spring up I was excited, as I dine at the one in downtown Dallas for work sometimes. Think Chipotle, but salads. They have so many ingredients and you just pick your salad size - Small, Medium or Large - pick your lettuce type and go from there. Just add what you'd like. They have quite a lot of dressing choices. I often build mine to basically be a Caesar salad with Salmon. There are quite a few protein options, but the salmon is amazing. It looks underdone but it is not at all. The salad I listed, with the added drink usually runs about $12 and I get the large and have a whole meal to take home. The small is quite a lot in itself and is at a lower pricepoint. Make sure you go ahead and order the drink because they have so many different tea and lemonade options on draft. You won't regret it. Finally, the staff is great. Like any restaurant they run a skeleton crew between 2 and 5, but even at times when they have gotten an unexpected pop at 4:45 the staff is calm, cool, collected and appropriately conversational. What I mean about that is this: It's a salad bar in that you have lots of options; it's controlled in that you can't go hog wild on the bacon bits because you don't place anything on your plate; the lovely people behind the counter do that for you. Don't get me wrong. You can have whatever of the veggies that you desire, but you're still going to have it doled out to you in your small or large bowl. That's OK by me because you know what I hate, detest, despise about salad bars and buffets of each and every kind? Uncontrolled and unsupervised children who are allowed to pilfer in the food line either alone or with obliviots for parental units. But not here. No sir. Your food will only be touched by the gloved hands behind the glass! Even Sheldon would appreciate that. The salad fixings are fresh and plentiful and varied. You will not have any trouble following any diet plan that you are on. What kept me from giving it five stars was one thing. The protein. Call me cheap or call me frugal. I don't care, but I don't think that a scoop of chicken or smoked turkey should cost $3 or $4 extra. A scoop of protein like chicken, turkey, or tofu should be included in the price of the salad. Extra could be charged for premium protein like steak or shrimp. But is this issue going to stop me from going back to Salata? No. I've already been there twice, and I would probably have gone more often if it was a little closer to me. When you want to eat a little lighter, try Salata, but you have to skip the cookie store next door, OR go to Salata so that you can afford a few calories from the cookie store. I think I am in love with Salata. I ate at the one in Addison and then at this one the next day. No problems ordering and staff was friendly and greeted me right away even though they were busy helping another customer. You can't go wrong here as they have so many things to pick from. I went with my typical favorites and the Ginger Lime dressing. I don't think Ill get this dressing again as I thought the ginger taste over powered a lot of the other ingredients. Either I did not see or they do not offer avocado, so if they don't have it hopefully they will add it to their selections. Tried this place for the first time. It was decent. They offer a small salad bowl $7 a large $8 and a wrap for $7. The salads are pretty big portions I got a small and still had a little left over. They offer many toppings and dressings. You pay extra for your protein, they offer chicken and seafood and 3vegan proteins (quinoa,tofu or falafel). I got the falafel for my vegan protein and it was very dry. I also got a vegan white bean soup that was luke-warm and very salty. The line goes quick with servers making your salad. This place is does not do salad right. $7.00 for small which includes your greens/veggies and fruits. Didn't have a large variety of lettuces--5 choices, and one was romaine, one Kale, and one spinach. That left two. I was trying to make a Waldorf so I wanted partial iceberg. The fruits were sparse--looking for apples. None. I used strawberries. They put around one tablespoon of strawberries in my salad. Very stingy with portions. Good variety of meat, but for $3.00 extra, one expects a good portion. Not the case. Maybe 10 pieces. The dressings were the final disappointment. No mayo, no Catalina, no blue cheese, no thousand island. What!!?? This is a salad place. You would think they would have at least a dozen dressings. The salad was good but this place is nothing like the salad bar at Parkland Hospital, which has spoiled me horribly. The Salata owners should look at Parkland's menu. Now that's a salad bar. Went tonight for dinner and planned on dining in. The sign at the beginning of the line says, ask for free bread with salad. But when you get to the end of the line,...they don't have bread. The guy said the bread sitting there is old because there bread comes from another place. So, after getting our salad to go in search of bread, we went to a new Buffalo Wing restaurant just a few doors down and they had wonderful breadsticks! They're chicken was big chunks of white meat and very good! Tuesday it was half price!! They also have a salad option! For starters, salad is never the first thing I will pick for a meal... but this place is GOOD. I had been traveling all day so I wanted something light, so I searched salad when I landed in DFW. This location was very clean and the employees were very kind. I made a large salad with kale, radishes, almonds, apples, halved grapes, grilled chicken and cesear dressing and it was delicious. It was cheaper than I expected for a salad of that size with any toppings. If you eat in, it is served in a large SS bowl which is much easier to eat our of then a plastic container. They used way too much dressing which made it feel like an unhealthy dinner. But I think what most turned me off was the actual restaurant. It appears unfinished and boring. It's a little depressing. I completely forgot to make this reveal a long time ago this place is amazing I have been waiting for years for Arlington to get one so I don't have to drive to Las Colinas all the time LOL they have the freshest ingredients there are broasted chicken is amazing so is there salmon and their dressings are all really really good I love the ingredient of the month and it lets you try new things every month that you wouldn't normally try that's fun! Sorry but the staff behind the counter, not friendly, nobody smiles and the portions were so much smaller than other locations. The big change is for REGULAR size salad you now get one scoop of protein. ONE!?! And, the small size you get ONE. and then when I gave $11.00 they said prices have gone up and price is $11.91 When I asked the cashier she said they have 'made so changes'.
