A friend and I met here for lunch, our first time going. We ended up at different registers when ordering. She had a guy, and I had a girl. I could hear my friend getting explanations on the salads, etc, while I on the other hand was getting glared at to hurry along with my order. I told the girl this was my first time to be there and she just stood there, saying nothing friendly, but answered a question I had abruptly and rudely. I just ordered the basic with a side of soup. I had no time to look at the other choices. When I turned around, there wasn't anyone else waiting in line. I was a bit frustrated to say the least. I know I could have taken more time, but it's hard to concentrate when you're being glared at and rushed. I'm not sure if I would recommend or not. My friend's experience was better than mine, so, I guess it depends on who's behind the counter when you order. The basic chicken salad is just that, basic, but the chicken and wild rice soup was really good. I am not going to put the girl on blast who waited on me impatiently, I'm just hoping she was not her usual friendly self because of unknown circumstances to me. I will give her that. This location is in the Arlington Highlands right off of I20. It is easy to find and there's usually plenty of parking. I come here for lunch and the service is always friendly and efficient. They were super patient when I had a ton of questions. The orders come out quickly and there is even a cooler filled with chicken salad to-go. I love their strawberry lemonade and you have free refills when dining in. Olivia's Old South flavored chicken salad is my absolute fav! I recently tried the Sassy Scotty and it was also delicious. Chicken salad chick for lunch on a weekday. Showed up around 1245. Was initially not greeted, but I let the lady at the counter know it was our first time being there. She just looked at me. Then another worker came up and started instructing her. She was being trained!! The other employee went above and beyond. Giving us a full explanation of the menu and even walked us through ordering so we could get exactly what we wanted. We got our drinks and self seated in a bright and casual dining area. Food was delivered promptly and everything was correct. The food itself was decent and fresh. We all tried each others sandwiches since we all got something different. One issue was I wish I'd paid for extra chicken salad as the regular amount was pretty thin on the sandwich and didn't even fully cover the croissant on both sides. I tossed a third of the bread because it was just bread. $38 for 3 at lunch before tip. A good casual place with fresh food and fast service. My favorite thing about chicken salad, chick, is there egg salad croissant. I mean, don't get me wrong. The chicken salad is delicious, and I really enjoy them, but egg salad just keeps calling me back, some days I'm feeling real nauseous and it's the only thing that makes me happy. You still get a side and one of those miniature Frost cookies which are delicious. Keep me coming back for more. Everybody's always a cheerful when you walk up and they are friendly when they talk to you and help you. And normally the place is full because everybody else knows this is also a fabulous sandwich place, or salad if you're having it without bread. Lots of ways to enjoy this fabulous place. read more

Very disappointed today. Hardly any chicken salad on my sandwich. If you're gonna put such a tiny scoop on, at least spread it out so the customer can feel like they're actually getting something on the sandwich. You were told about this place so you had to give it try. The location was in a shopping center with lots of parking. It was the cutest decor and ambiance when I walked in, cute and chic. My kind of place! I was greeted by the friendly staff. They were so kind to offer me samples of the variety of chicken salad so I knew which one I wanted to order. I got the blt with croissant and kickin Kai Lynne chicken salad. My sides were broccoli salad and grape salad. Also ordered a scoop of fancy Nancy. It was the cutest presentation when we got the order. Great portion size and got a cookie with cute packaging. The scoop of chicken salad is served crackers. The pickles were so yummy and crunchy, I had to ask for extra. The blt sandwich was flavorful with a kick of spice. The grape salad was delicious. Liked the broccoli salad for those that want their kids to eat veggies this is a great way. Everything was good and fresh! The staff were great! They have multiple locations in Texas and Florida. This was my first visit to Chicken Salad Chick. I wasn't really impressed with the regular/original chicken salad recipe. The meal came with a cookie, which was a nice surprise. This chain is just my kind of place. The location is cute and comfortably furnished, and the menu is pretty much all foods that I love. I got the dixie chick on a croissant (the superior bread choice) and it was flavorful and well-balanced. I have been to the location a few times, and I always get it to go. I have tried the Sassy Scotty, which is soooo good. I also have had the Fancy Nancy, Jalapeño Holly, and the Kickin Kay Lynne (My favorite). I love pimento cheese and they have two. They have the regular, with freshly grated sharp cheddar & pepper jack cheeses combined with just a smidge of of creamy house dressing and they also have a jalapeño version. I like spicy, so I get the jalapeño version. Both are very good, and this place is my go to for pimento cheese and chicken salad. Great place to dine in or take out, and the staff very friendly, and if it's your first time, ask an employee for their recommendation, and they will choose the right items for you. I came here a Monday afternoon and was surprised at how many people were already dining here. I ordered a trio, got the cranberry chick salad on a croissant, with spicy pimento and grape salad. The croissant, I would definitely pass on, very dense, no flavour. I'd either just use the crackers or try the club sandwiches. The spicy pimento was good. I've never had grape salad before but it was delicious, very much a dessert item than a side!! I preferred that over the complimentary cookie, which was cute. The food came out very quickly, I could have just waited at the counter basically for it, based on how quickly it came out. I've ordered the family style meals from here at least a dozen times now which feeds a family of four. It comes with two pints of chicken salad, a huge serving of a side dish (I opt for and love the broccoli slaw), plus a loaf of whole grain bread (or croissants) , and frosted sugar cookies. It's so easy to assemble a delicious and mostly healthy meal this way! I cannot imagine ordering anything except Kickin Kalyn which has a buffalo and blue cheese flavor. The heat of this is absolutely divine and it is one of the most addictive snacks I can imagine. All the flavors are good because the shredded chicken used here is really well done. Love this place! The also have soups, egg salad, sandwiches and a few other things. The chicken salad is categorized as: traditional, savory, fruity/nutty, and spicy. You can get a scoop or a sandwich. I got a scoop of the lemon basil chicken salad. It comes out on a piece of lettuce, with a side of crackers, pickle, and a soft sugar cookie. I also got one of their giant rice crispy treats. The lemon basil scoop was good, but very bland. It simply tasted like traditional chicken salad. I could not pick up any flavors of lemon or basil. They must have been out of pecans, bc mine didn't have any. I also tried the, "Kickin Kay" which is supposed to be spicy. It has bacon, cheese, sriracha, ranch, and jalapeños, etc. With all of those delicious ingredients, I thought it would be loaded with flavor. Nope. This again was very bland, I struggled to taste anything other than traditional chicken salad. I am not a super big fan of plain chicken salad, so I was a little disappointed in both of these menu items. Last but not least, I tried my rice Krispy treat. They are pretty big and prob need to be shared. Looks like they are made with a combo of chocolate and regular Krispies and topped with chocolate chips. It was soft and very marshmallowy and I liked the texture of the chocolate chips on top. It was just way too sweet for me! I rarely say such a forbidden thing, but man was it SWEET! I got the croissant sandwich since it's my favorite kind of way to eat chicken salad. Anyways. Would I get the croissant sandwich again? No. Would I get the traditional classic carol? No. Here's why. The classic carol wasn't up to par. It was dry for me. It's simply ok. The croissant breading was pretty dry as well, not the normal buttery croissants I normally get at other places. I would def come back again because my friend go the buffalo barclay. And let me tell you that had so much flavor it was definitely good!! Wish I had got that instead. I'm staying in a hotel nearby so I tried this place and it was amazing! I've never been a huge fan of chicken salad but I am now. They have several variations but I'm in love with the Jalapeño Holly. I've eaten there about 5 times in 10 days. The price is right and the food is amazing. The staff have all been delightful. It is well run and clean.
