Great food, picked up an order to go via DoorDash. Even though I was 20 minutes late, food was still relatively warm and extra delicious. Needless to say my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I was looking forward to eating at McAlister's since I don't have one near me. I ordered a 12" French Dip with a side of fruit. Not sure why, but it seemed to take a very long time to receive my simple order. I was incredibly disappointed taking my first bite of a shoe leather sandwich. The thinly shaved meat was extremely dry. I guess they left on grill and forgot about. The sad part is the cheese wasn't even mealted. The beef broth was so watery that it just tasted like plain salt water. The fruit cup was horribly unripe, except for the grapes that were too ripe. Sandwich was so bad that I brought it home for my dogs. I will give them 1 star for the sweet tea. Only good thing I had. They brag about their sweet tea with pictures on the wall and the keyword to text about employment opportunities is "sweettea", but their sweet tea is disgusting, disappointing, and not sweet at all. They have a decent menu of sandwiches and salads. I got a club sandwich that must have been premade because it came out almost immediately. The cashier told me it was a hot sandwich but it wasn't so there's that disappointment. They have a nice kid's menu for $0.99 items including Uncrustables. Half king club on the jalapeño bread & the veggie spud is always colorful, fresh, and light yet still fulfilling but this time they forgot the main meats on my sandwich (only the bacon made it on). Really disappointing experience. I ordered Uber Eats and 1. The baked potato was burnt. I think they use the same, awful process to prepare their baked potatoes. Baked potatoes shouldn't be charred. I like the skin, and when it tastes like ashes, it's very unpleasant. The atmosphere at McAlister's is fine, might be cool if there were tech stations, but not bad and was clean enough. The service wasn't great. Two of the items I ordered were missing from the order, and when you have food delivered, it's not like you can just walk up to the counter and tell someone about it. On the positive side, I loved their club and king club sammies and their chicken tortilla soup was very tasty and was packaged so the soup was still hot when it was delivered. I didn't like the potato salad. Maybe they should just eliminate every potato from their menu read more

I was a bit disappointed that they discontinued the Muffuletta. It was a wonderful sandwich. The Muffuletta, baked potatoes and tea were the only thing I ate. Today I tried the Italian. It was okay, next time I'll add jalapeños and an olive mix but it's no Muffuletta. The Mac n cheese is something I'll pass on next time. It's more geared towards a two year old who won't eat anything else. The cheese used is very watery and the macaroni was overlooked. I do like that refills for tea are free as long as you own the cup and the cookies are the bomb. read more

As a business owner operator, I realize how today good employes are difficult to find, the equipment the owner chooses can have an effect also. McAlister's Deli started out great with good food and great Iced Tea. Over the past years things have changed. The worst change is the payment for the food, this new way requests a "TIP" in advance, tipping is after the meal, it is a thank you to the waitress and sometimes to the cook, asking for a "TIP" in advance is just not the correct way to operate. At McAlister's you pay when you order, I never tip in advance, when I paid for my meal after ordering the meal, this cashier pocking the card reader at me, I hit the "NO TIP" and he said sorry your card was not read, try again, so again same thing sorry your card was not read, he took my card and ran it and said thank you. After eating and leaving I noticed he added the "TIP". Food was just OK, Tea was good but not as good as Starbucks, there are many places to get a sandwich for lunch. This is the last time I will ever go to McAllaster's. This sneaky way of adding money to the company will cost the company with loss of business. I don't want the $1.90 returned and I don't want any apologizes from management. read more

This is usually my go to spot on the weekends, I've been coming here for years! While it often gets busy between the hours of 12p-3p for lunch, the overall wait isn't too bad. But I have observed when customers do not know how to lineup properly, it may take much longer to order. There are 4 open registers = 4 different lines, no need to make 1 line that splits 4 ways, when this happens people crowd almost to the door and at peak times, out the door! Back to the food, my go-to is the Sweet Chipotle Chicken hot panini, with a side of mashed potatoes & gravy. For under $7, not bad at all for a "semi-healthy" meal. The best item on he menu, The Sweet Tea. Best Sweet Tea I've had...add a lemon and you will feel refreshed! Reason I am giving this place a 4* besides the sweet tea, is the customer service at this location!The table runners are always making their rounds to make sure drinks are always refilled. Service, to me, has never diminished throughout the years. Will continue to be a repeat customer. PS: While the French Dip w/au-jus is very good. The portion is really small for the price. read more

It's hard to mess up a sandwich. Pretty much any of these chain establishments that invest in quality ingredients and friendly employees do a decent job. Because, honestly, there's not much science to slapping some turkey on bread and heating it up. And something tells me that turkey is what the majority of customers get. The real difference I see from chain to chain is the quality of the soups. I don't know if anyone actually makes soups fresh in the store. I'd like to believe they do, but it could be that all chain restaurants serve soups that come frozen or in a giant can that calls for water and or milk. I have no idea. I just know that some places have soups that TASTE not so fresh. So, if I'm comparing the chains, I would put McAlister's in the middle. I think their soup is better than Schlotzky's (easily) and better than Jason's Deli. It's not as good as Potbelly or Panera. But I do like their sandwiches better than those at Panera. In any case, it's a chain sandwich shop. That does not start with S or rhyme with UBWAY. So you should have an idea what to expect and not be terribly surprised or depressed unless the server is rude or the bathroom is foul--and that's not been my experience at this location. read more

I think McAlister's may have given me the wrong order! I walk in and wait my turn to order a bowl of chicken tortilla soup to go. After I ordered I took a seat and waited for my soup. It didn't take very long and they called my name. I got my order and headed back to my office. It was pretty cold outside so I was really looking forward to eating lunch. I pulled the lid off of my "bowl" of soup and it was half of a bowl of soup. They must have been running low on soup that day I guess. I reached in my bag and took out the chips that comes with it and they matched the amount of soup in my half bowl. At this point I'm just shaking my head a little bit until I took my first spoon full of "chicken tortilla soup." Not only was it a half bowl with 4-5 busted up chips there was no sign of chicken anywhere. I started digging in that half bowl of soup searching for the lost piece(s) of chicken but failed miserably. By this time I think I may need a neck brace due to the heavy duty head shaking I was experiencing. So for almost $7.00 I had basically a cup of "Tortilla Soup" without chicken with 4-5 busted up chips for lunch. I know as a country we're experiencing high inflation but it must be at its peak when I order chicken tortilla soup without the chicken and very few tortilla busted up chips and still pay retail. I did give a 3 Star Rating because even though I didn't get what I ordered it was very good. I'm now thinking how good it could've been if I actually received what I ordered. read more

I love the food, especially the pecanberry salad and harvest chicken sandwich. It is always fresh and prompt. The staff are courteous and attentive and the place is always clean. Extra butter & sour cream A little upset because to pay for extra bacon and to get 2 pieces of back sliced up and minimum cheese! I asked for extra butter because potatoes tend to be dry.
