I came here after a recommendation from a friend. The place was very clean and vibrant and felt very lively with their aesthetics that felt almost old timey. Not to mention their wall of cakes in display Their service was very helpful and friendly, adding in to the welcoming vibe. I had ordered myself an Iced snickerdoodle latte and a croissant which was baked fresh out of the oven. And honestly it was the best pastry I've had in the area. They also have a much large indoor dining area next door for brunch which I thought was sweet. So if you ever are looking for a coffee break of a time out in the day. They spare the space with Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery which is an added bonus!! There's plenty of parking nearby and several entrances all leading to many tasty treats. You order and pay at the counter and receive at number to place on your table. My friend and I split a Blueberry-Havarti and a Hatch Pimento sandwich both on sourdough bread. My favorite was the Blueberry-Havarti; so delicious!! The amount of pimento cheese was a bit too much for me. The dining area is seemed small; however, the owner said that there are seats for 68. It seemed like most orders were to go. I was not a fan of their entire wall full of dead air plants; definitely not what you expect in a sandwich shop using fresh ingredients; the owner's response was air plants are hard to keep alive. Stopped in for lunch today because we were craving sandwiches and there weren't any seats over at The Tin Cup. What a pleasant surprise! Time for an update! Can't believe it's been over 5 years since my last review, nuts. This little sandwich shop is one of my favorites, located in downtown Arlington and connected to Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery. Women-owned. Sweet and savory all under one roof! And both have gluten free options, which I'm so grateful for. Here's what I had on my last trip to The Hive: The blueberry havarti on gluten free bread (smoked turkey, havarti cheese, fresh greens, and a housemade blueberry mayo). This sandwich hits lot of flavor notes... sweet, tart, salty! It's so delicious. I also can't recommend their house-made pimento cheese enough -- same for their chicken salad. Meanwhile, don't sleep on the soups and salad. Their house tomato soup is vegan, all veggies with plenty of peppery spice. And their salads are a really great size and so crunchy fresh. The fruit & nut salad is spring mix plus romaine with apples, dried cranberries, candied pecans, locally-sourced goat cheese, onions, croutons, and a house-made honey jalapeño vinaigrette. It's fantastic but I might like the "Bleu Caesar" salad even better: chopped romaine, shredded chicken, plenty of parmesan, sliced red onions, homemade croutons, and house-made dressing (a blend of caesar and bleu cheese with cracked black pepper and garlic)! So glad to have found this gem! Such a cute vibe in this restaurant and the attached bakery. All menu items looked amazing to select from. I had the blueberry havarti sandwich and it did not disappoint. Served toasted, which I prefer and came with a side of delicious chips. Also tried the soup of the day which was chicken poblano and this was perfect for the cold weather. Nice portion size for the food. Really nice flavors. The staff were very kind and welcoming. Gluten free bread is not an upcharge and the bread is smaller so they actually give you two mini sandwiches to account for a regular size whole one-how amazing is that?! You MUST try this place... I was greeted right away when I walked in and told to let him know if I had any questions about the menu. I got the "soup" and salad. It was hand delivered to my table in no time with a smile! There was utensils and a napkin on the tray as well. The only self serve portion are the drinks. The Fruit & Nut salad was delicious I got the size small and it was pretty filling. The "soup" of the day was chili and OMG it was seasoned to perfection! Was in the area and thought to pick up a couple sandwiches for the hubs and myself and had read about this place so thought why not? Hubs got the boot and said it was excellent, he was disappointed in the bread because he thought it would be on ciabatta but was on plain bread but said it was still good. I ordered the goat and asked for no onions, because gag onions.... Got home and onions all over my sandwich so didn't get to eat it. You can't take onions off and not still taste them so was disappointed but may try again sometime but giving three stars because half my order was good. read more

Delicious and fresh! Charming little local sandwich place. We stumbled upon here passing through driving back home to Oklahoma. I got the goat sandwich and it was absolutely divine! I found this place via Yelp and grabbed my Mom for a week day lunch date. It's a super cute place in same building as SugarBee Sweets (check out the sweets before you leave). We had the B.L.A.T, Hot Pastrami, & a heavenly sugar cookie! The sourdough bread is made in house and is seriously good- I would buy it by the loaf if they sold it! We both enjoyed our sandwiches and the chips that come with them! A suggestion would be to add a flavor option of chips - tossed with a little garlic and rosemary or something. We couldn't resist getting one of the massive sugar cookies on the counter and took it home to eat later as we were full from our lunch. It's probably in the top 2 best sugar cookie I've had in my life! The place was very clean and the 2 workers were super friendly. If you are in a hurry, I'd recommending ordering in advance. I ordered a hatch pimento sandwich with chips and their soup of the day (small chicken tortilla soup) for pick up and was surprised how short the wait time was. I love that they use sourdough bread which is one of my favorites. I'm wondering if the potato chips that comes with the sandwich is homemade because they certainly tasted like it. There are plenty of places to park and I love that this small area hosts a couple of small businesses (the eatery, bakery, coffee shop and arts studio). The inside of the eatery has plenty of light, warm and inviting. The air plants wall adds to the ambiance of the Hive. The ladies working were quick with the order, friendly and helpful. The sandwich paired nicely with the chips, I will see if I could add Turkey to the sandwich next time. The chicken tortilla soup was flavorful and a good option for lunch or dinner if you aren't too hungry. The prices are decent as well as the quantity for th price. Came here on a friends recommendation. I got half a chicken salad sandwich and the blue chicken Caesar. Both were delicious. The dressing on the Caesar was really different and good. Service/food prep is pretty slow. If there was a long line, I would be concerned with getting in and out in a timely manner, but if you are there with only a few other patrons, it is doable.
