Wanted pizza but I'm too old, too picky for Dominoes etc. Cane Rossa opened up in the revitalized downtown Aggtown near Front street, south of Division. Atmosphere is Deep Ellumish, but nicer, more family friendly. Ordered the garlic flatbread, a Margherita pizza with sausage, cup pepperoni, and caramelized onions. Everything was as expected. That I travel to Socal a lot, this pizza reminds me of being in Oceanside, San Diego, looking out at the waves crashing in, sauntering back out, soft salty breezes, and taking it sooooo easy. It's a relaxing bite. Brick oven sophistication, but simple fresh ingredients that make each slice super light. It's a vacation for the palate away from the usual. Try the patio. Service was awesome. Food is consistently good. Service is usually good, sometimes just only serviceable. One solid move would be to reinforce the side porch and install a Big fan. It would help with the flies and those small oscillating fans are pricey junk that are minimally productive and notoriously do not last. Cane Rosso is a favorite of mine for vegan pizza, it was a must I stopped in for "pi day". $5 frozen margs and froses? Yes please! Both drinks are great, I'm a marg girl so I thought I'd prefer that but he frose took the win this visit. Sat at the bar and the bartender was great, even though it was super busy, she was attentive and personable. It's been pretty quiet the last couple times I went to Cane Rosso, but it remains a solid choice in a busy area for pizza and salad. I think their prices are a little high compared to similar restaurants, but luckily my last visit was during happy hour. They have good house wine and friendly bartenders. Not from the area but saw they had plant based options, vegan cheese, and gluten free crust! I had to try. The service was friendly and the vibe is casual. I ordered and it came out so quickly. One of the best gluten free vegan pizzas I've had in a long time! The crust was perfect and making the pie spicy was a great option. Craig greeted me and lead me to one of his tables outside; it's a beautiful day! I drove across town to take advantage of a $10 Honey Bastard pizza for National Pizza Day! Regular price is $21!! The pizza, which is wood fired, came out quickly. With only a few burnt bubbles; it was cooked well; unfortunately it was not cut well. I look forward to air frying my leftovers! Craig was attentive but he had a big area to service so I had to wait for my red pepper and ranch dressing. I suggest they bring it as soon as the pizza order is placed. We've been here a few times just for a drink and an appetizer. This was our first full sit down meal here. Wonderful overcast weather made it perfect to sit on the patio. First off, our waiter was phenomenal. Absolutely perfect service. He made fantastic suggestions, brought us Togo boxes without even having to ask, never had an empty water glass perfection. Our food was incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed every single item we ordered. We got the crispy artichoke app and my husband, who doesn't even like artichoke devoured them. The dipping sauce they serve with this is just the right level of spicy and only made it better. We got a Chicken Tikka pizza and the bolognese pasta to share. The pizza was so unexpected and each bite brought new flavors up. Everything on it went so well together. We are staying in the area and this was the closest and best reviewed pizza place, so of course we had to try it. The fried cheese appetizer was delicious. The marinara it comes with was very good, but the lightly fried cheese balls covered in Parmesan cheese is definitely the star. They have a meatball appetizer that looked good as a server walked past, so you may want to get that also. The main dishes were very good. The Roni one pizza had bacon jam on it which added a sweetness to the bite, which was nice with the pepperoni flavor. I've had the pizza at their Dallas location and it's really good - at this particular location I've only ever ordered pasta for some reason lol. It's just so good! The Truffle Carbonara (add crispy chicken) is so damn good, I might actually lick the bowl. (I opt out of the egg yolk, though). I also enjoy their house salad and their cheesy garlic bread. I must admit I come for 1 reason, outside of the convenience of the locations and that's the Hot Honey Bastard pizza! The pizza is consistently good, every time! I typically go to the Arlington location, because it's close to my office. There's plenty of street parking. The service has been pretty consistent, outside of 1 experience. The restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and it was a fantastic place. I love an old fashion and they had a pumpkin one which was divine. We ordered 4 wood fired pizzas. The pizza was delicious and the crust is the type you want to finish because it's yummy and it's on the thinner side. We got ranch dressing to dip and shared some dessert. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors because the day called for that. The service was great, very attentive and familiar with the menu. We went right when they opened up and we were blown away! For our first time, we didn't expect our experience to be as good as it was. The waitress was fantastic, we ordered two appetizers, garlic cheesey bread and the artichokes. They were both delicious. For our meals, we ordered the PBR, Roni One and the monthly pasta special-pumpkin pasta. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food. The only weird thing, is the bathroom. We stopped in here before the Cowboys game and we really enjoyed it. The service was awesome, staff is very friendly and quick. We started with the Meatballs which were full of flavor. Highly recommend these at a starter! We then did the Cane Rosso pizza, the pizza was good nothing extraordinary but good. Overall, very cute spacious Italian spot, a very good spot to come to before the Cowboys game as you are really close to the stadium. I was in the area for a business trip and attempted to make good use of my time by trying a place featured on Triple D and this location was just down the road from the hotel I was staying in. The restaurant was mildly busy but there was no wait and service was prompt. i ordered for an appetizer the berries and burrata which comes with fresh bread, balsamic cherries and balsamic-soaked burrata, along with the Honey Bastard wood-fired pizza, which is the entire reason you come here in the first place! That pizza was everything. The crust had just enough give without being too chewy and not greasy either which was very nice! Honey Bastard comes topped with soppressata, bacon marmalade and habanero honey, a lovely blend of sweet and spices. Most likely a 3.5 if I could add half a star. We made a reservation online. When we got there, we were a bit early & the hostess let us know that we were early. I mean, it was probably ten minutes early & we weren't expecting to be seated right away but she was kind of matter of fact. It was full, but wasn't crazy busy. There was on occasion two girls at the hostess stand, then we noticed that others who were walking in without reservations were getting seated before us by both the hostess that checked us in & the other staff member that was helping her. The atmosphere is pretty cool, casual & a good place for everyone. They are able to host large parties which is a plus for large parties, the table space itself is pretty spacious without it being cramped. It can get loud in there but merely an observation, not a complaint, just FYI if you're looking for a quiet place. The weather was not so great but they do have some wonderful outdoor seating when the weather is more accommodating! Food & drinks, we're okay. All of us had pasta dishes, I had the carbonara & it was pretty salty. I added on a meatball, that was delicious, for me it was the best part of my dish. My friend had the chicken parm (I think that's what it was), she said it was okay. Another friend had the brisket lasagna, that was a win. The drinks weren't bad, you couldn't really taste the alcohol... maybe they didn't use much but the fruity flavors of each drink was prominent & that was a plus. Fair price for the food, maybe a bit high for the drinks. Also, the food portions are big, you could make two meals out of one. Kyli was our waitress, she was EXCELLENT. Very kind, often checked in with us, & had a great personality. We had drink & food questions as we were decided what to order, she was helpful with recommendations. Just super knowledgeable. I had decent service at the other location but didn't end up caring for the pizza there, so wanted to give them another shot at a different location. We had been at Cidercade nearby, and this is a great walk over option. I've even seen folks bring in Togo pizzas to Cidercade from here. Service was outstanding at this location and everyone seemed to like their food. We had dinner here tonight. It was a disappointment. All but the outer edge of the crust was way too thin even for thin crust and a raw doughy soggy mess. It was so gooey and soggy we couldn't pick it up. The pizza and all ingredients were so salty we could barely eat it. I ordered mushrooms on mine. Visited this past Saturday for a brunch/lunch with my kiddo and his gf before the Rangers baseball game. This place has perfect outdoor seating for a warm spring afternoon however this was not that day. It was cold and rainy, the inside was just as perfect. Lots of indoor seating, the decor is retro and yet gives off that hipster vibe. The staff? So incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave some great recommendations for drinks and food. Majority of the adults at the table ordered the frosé (which was absolutely delicious!) I chose the mimosa. So good I had 3 hahaha! We did ask about food, I was torn between splitting the Truffle Shuffle pizza or the Honey Bastard. I was leaning more toward the Truffle Shuffle but my husband isn't into truffle like I am so we went Honey Bastard. This thing yall had SO MUCH FLAVOR! The contrast between the slightly spicy honey drizzle, the spicy soppressata and the sweetness of the bacon marmalade? Genius! The Roni One was also delicious, my 3 children split that. My son and his girlfriend each had the wood fired eggs in purgatory. One with the parm one without. I got a little taste of my son's and so so delicious. Couldn't find an available res for 6 on day we needed so I called. Amazingly we got in. This is my second time at a Cane Rosso. It did not disappoint anyone. Service was prompt and food was exceptional. Laid back atmosphere was perfect for our football game attire. We had meatballs and the Brussels sprouts appetizers' the Cane Rosso, La Flama Blanca, and Jabroni pizzas. Hard pressed to pick a favorite an all were outstanding. It was a perfect meal for our group and didn't hurt that it was reasonably priced. Will def go back when I return to DFW area. read more
