Wanted pizza but I'm too old, too picky for Dominoes etc. Cane Rossa opened up in the revitalized downtown Aggtown near Front street, south of Division. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere is Deep Ellumish, but nicer, more family friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered the garlic flatbread, a Margherita pizza with sausage, cup pepperoni, and caramelized onions. Everything was as expected. That I travel to Socal a lot, this pizza reminds me of being in Oceanside, San Diego, looking out at the waves crashing in, sauntering back out, soft salty breezes, and taking it sooooo easy. It's a relaxing bite. Brick oven sophistication, but simple fresh ingredients that make each slice super light. It's a vacation for the palate away from the usual. We had a work dinner here while visiting our partner. I really had no interest in going because I can be a bit picky when it comes to pizza. Living in the Northeast does that- LOL. We had a large party and they accommodated us well. We had a large table with plenty of room for our party. Our server was very good. She handled our large party with ease. Drinks and appetizers were well made and tasty. I had hope for the pizza. We ordered a number of different pizzas. They were a nice size. They were true to form when it comes to Neapolitan pizza. One pizza could feed three people or 2 very hungry people. I tried the PBR and the La Flama Blanca. I have to admit that I was impressed. Flavor was good and the crust was very good. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs during lunch hours, and the pasta tasted undercooked. The server mean while disappeared after dropping the food and I had to ask the host to tell her to come over. When I mentioned it to the server, she responded with an attitude, saying, "we cook it al dente." I understand that al dente is the intended style, but this was much firmer than expected. I asked if it could be cooked a little longer. The server said it would take about five minutes, but when the dish came back, the texture was exactly the same. It didn't seem like anything had been changed. What made the experience even more disappointing was the service. The server never came back to check if the recooked dish was satisfactory. Instead, she only stopped by to ask if I wanted a to-go box. I've dined at this restaurant several times before and have always had a good experience, which makes this visit especially disappointing. Food is consistently good. Service is usually good, sometimes just only serviceable. One solid move would be to reinforce the side porch and install a Big fan. Cane Rosso is a favorite of mine for vegan pizza, it was a must I stopped in for "pi day". $5 frozen margs and froses? Yes please! Both drinks are great, I'm a marg girl so I thought I'd prefer that but he frose took the win this visit. Sat at the bar and the bartender was great, even though it was super busy, she was attentive and personable. Also opted to get a BYO pizza to go - vegan cheese, mushrooms, jalapeños and Calabrian chiles. Probably my favorite combo to date! read more

Not from the area but saw they had plant based options, vegan cheese, and gluten free crust! I had to try. I have been to the Fort Worth location, this time checked out the Arlington location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is a little smaller, but still very cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is ok, there are lots of businesses in this area so it can be a challenge. But the food was amazing, we tried the garlic cheesy bread, fried artichokes, and for my entree I did the caprese salad. All of the food was fresh and tasty. Regular price is $21!! The pizza, which is wood fired, came out quickly. With only a few burnt bubbles; it was cooked well; unfortunately it was not cut well. I love cane Rosso, but my favorite thing about going was the bartender Tiry. After going this past weekend as his regular and finding out he got fired. I had to start going to other locations. They'll never have another Tiry, so sad to see him go as well as my services. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]It's been pretty quiet the last couple times I went to Cane Rosso, but it remains a solid choice in a busy area for pizza and salad.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think their prices are a little high compared to similar restaurants, but luckily my last visit was during happy hour. They have good house wine and friendly bartenders. I'm a big fan of their caprese salad. Huge thick slices of heirloom tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella. We came for lunch; the pizza was good! After taking our menus, our lovely waitress kindly asked if we would like any parmesan or ranch with our pizza - we said yes to both. There was no mention of a $2 surcharge for the ranch made verbally nor on the menu... To add insult, it was not sizeable (maybe 1.5 oz?) Had I been the one to request it, I wouldn't even be writing this - but I wasn't, and I hadn't intended to have any until it was offered. To offer ranch (which is almost always free at dine-in pizza establishments) alongside parmesan (which is always free at any pizza establishment) and not let the customer know you're going to charge them for one is, in my opinion, dishonest. $8 for a glass of tea and a soft drink is pretty egregious, too. Just raise the price of the pizza, man. Don't rope customers in with the promise of a $17 pie then nickel and dime them to the point that the bill is almost double. Or, at the very least, if you're going to nickel and dime them with $5+ drinks and $2+ spoonfuls of ranch (when accounting for a 20% tip and 8.25% sales tax) then put the prices on the menu. You know many people want ranch with their pizza (hence why you asked), and you should know folks don't often pay $2 for it at other establishments. To a customer, the natural conclusion is that you've determined this is a small enough charge that most customers will simply scoff and pay without complaining. Unfortunately, the bad taste left by this realization overpowered that of the lovely pizza we'd just consumed. It's a shame; we were literally discussing our plans to return before the bill arrived. I hope ownership quits utilizing a delivery/room-service-esque price structure and instead begins to embrace Cane Rosso's identity as a full-service dine-in pizza establishment. Three Stars. (P.S. I recognize that it is FIFA right now, and that maybe they've added the charge specifically to nickel and dime foreign tourists who are embracing their newfound love for the white liquid gold - but I ask you, is that really any better?) read more

My first time visiting, everything look good but I had the chicken parm sandwich which was very good served hot and fresh. Nice portions here with comparable pricing. My server was attentive. We are staying in the area and this was the closest and best reviewed pizza place, so of course we had to try it. The fried cheese appetizer was delicious. The marinara it comes with was very good, but the lightly fried cheese balls covered in Parmesan cheese is definitely the star. They have a meatball appetizer that looked good as a server walked past, so you may want to get that also. The main dishes were very good. The Roni one pizza had bacon jam on it which added a sweetness to the bite, which was nice with the pepperoni flavor. If you're in the area and want some good food with friendly service, this place is an excellent choice. read more

I've had the pizza at their Dallas location and it's really good - at this particular location I've only ever ordered pasta for some reason lol. It's just so good! The Truffle Carbonara (add crispy chicken) is so damn good, I might actually lick the bowl. (I opt out of the egg yolk, though). I also enjoy their house salad and their cheesy garlic bread. I must admit I come for 1 reason, outside of the convenience of the locations and that's the Hot Honey Bastard pizza! The pizza is consistently good, every time! I typically go to the Arlington location, because it's close to my office. There's plenty of street parking. The service has been pretty consistent, outside of 1 experience. If you enjoy a good quality, wood fired pizza, you probably want to give Cane Rosso a try! read more

The restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and it was a fantastic place. I love an old fashion and they had a pumpkin one which was divine. We ordered 4 wood fired pizzas. The pizza was delicious and the crust is the type you want to finish because it's yummy and it's on the thinner side. We got ranch dressing to dip and shared some dessert. We went right when they opened up and we were blown away! For our first time, we didn't expect our experience to be as good as it was. The waitress was fantastic, we ordered two appetizers, garlic cheesey bread and the artichokes. They were both delicious. For our meals, we ordered the PBR, Roni One and the monthly pasta special-pumpkin pasta. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food. We've been here a few times just for a drink and an appetizer. This was our first full sit down meal here. I was in the area for a business trip and attempted to make good use of my time by trying a place featured on Triple D and this location was just down the road from the hotel I was staying in. The restaurant was mildly busy but there was no wait and service was prompt. i ordered for an appetizer the berries and burrata which comes with fresh bread, balsamic cherries and balsamic-soaked burrata, along with the Honey Bastard wood-fired pizza, which is the entire reason you come here in the first place! That pizza was everything. The crust had just enough give without being too chewy and not greasy either which was very nice! Honey Bastard comes topped with soppressata, bacon marmalade and habanero honey, a lovely blend of sweet and spices. Most likely a 3.5 if I could add half a star. We made a reservation online. When we got there, we were a bit early & the hostess let us know that we were early. I mean, it was probably ten minutes early & we weren't expecting to be seated right away but she was kind of matter of fact. It was full, but wasn't crazy busy. There was on occasion two girls at the hostess stand, then we noticed that others who were walking in without reservations were getting seated before us by both the hostess that checked us in & the other staff member that was helping her. The atmosphere is pretty cool, casual & a good place for everyone. They are able to host large parties which is a plus for large parties, the table space itself is pretty spacious without it being cramped. It can get loud in there but merely an observation, not a complaint, just FYI if you're looking for a quiet place. The weather was not so great but they do have some wonderful outdoor seating when the weather is more accommodating! Food & drinks, we're okay. All of us had pasta dishes, I had the carbonara & it was pretty salty. I added on a meatball, that was delicious, for me it was the best part of my dish. My friend had the chicken parm (I think that's what it was), she said it was okay. Another friend had the brisket lasagna, that was a win. The drinks weren't bad, you couldn't really taste the alcohol... maybe they didn't use much but the fruity flavors of each drink was prominent & that was a plus. Fair price for the food, maybe a bit high for the drinks. Also, the food portions are big, you could make two meals out of one. Kyli was our waitress, she was EXCELLENT. Very kind, often checked in with us, & had a great personality. We had drink & food questions as we were decided what to order, she was helpful with recommendations. Just super knowledgeable. Restaurant was busy for a Friday night so we put our name down & went across the street to hangout. I'd maybe call and get a reservation if you want a guaranteed spot. We got the Cane Rosso (Red pizza) and the Honey Bastard (white pizza) and I've got to say the honey bastard was amazing. The pizza is made very quick and the crust is super tasty. I was visiting friends in Arlington and they suggested Cane Rosso for dinner. First thing was they corrected my pronunciation of it so if you are like me it's "cah-nay row-so". We ordered a variety of items, a couple appetizers, pizza and one of the pasta dishes. Everything was so tasty and the portions were massive! I ordered the Truff Daddy pizza for myself thinking it would be a single serve but nope, I took like 70% of it home! We got the Fried Nuggs to share, they were a cute play on mozzarella sticks. My friends husband raved about the Brisket Lasagna so he of course ordered that. It was a huge portion, like 3+ inches tall and it was everything you'd imagine when you think "brisket lasagna". I had been to cane rosso before, but at a different location. I had decent service at the other location but didn't end up caring for the pizza there, so wanted to give them another shot at a different location. We had been at Cidercade nearby, and this is a great walk over option. I've even seen folks bring in Togo pizzas to Cidercade from here. Service was outstanding at this location and everyone seemed to like their food. The pizza was cooked, but for personal preference I'd like it cooked a little longer so your slice isn't drooping as much when you pick it up. Otherwise a good experience! read more

It was okay. I've had better Italian experiences with much better service. However, I guess for the cheaper price, the subpar service is expected. There were like 3 servers yet none of them were out on the floor checking on people after we got our food. And it's not like I could go to their staff room behind the curtain to wave them down. So, let the waiting game begin. Bolognese came out fresh and piping hot but omg it was saltyyyy. I wouldn't try any of their red pastas. I haven't tried whites so I have no opinion on those. I really enjoy Cane Rosso and love their Honey Bastard pizza. It is so good, but sometimes the crust can be burnt. We ordered the Margherita and pizza of the month. I don't remember what the flavor was for the pizza of the month, but I remember it had brussel sprouts and I was underwhelmed with that pizza. The margherita was good but my favorite will always be the Honey Bastard. Their carbonara is really yummy too. The burrata and cherries were good but not my favorite. Went with the most popular pizza on the menu which was the honey bastard. The ingredients are Hot soppressata, bacon marmalade, habanero honey, housemade mozzarella. The pizza I got had no hot soppressata and was extremely sweet. It tasted like they poured honey straight on the pizza. There was no spice at all on the pizza. I couldn't even finish the pizza because it was so sweet. Not sure if it was an off day or I just ordered the wrong thing but I didn't enjoy my food at all.
