Try this place at the request of my eldest for his birthday. Took the order to go and waited for about 35 minutes. I'd say a little on the pricey side for rolls when compared to and all you can eat but they do have a 2 rolls for 30 deal. The rolls were "girthy" and had pretty good flavor. For the wife and I ordered the citrus roll and the Albacore roll. I love the slices of lemon and the citrus rolls which cut through all the richness, The roll was very good it had a lot of salmon and had great flavor. Albuquerque is one of my favorites and I love when they sear the outside, the raw red onion complimented it well. The crunch roll that my son ordered was pretty standard at great flavor and my son enjoyed it very much. The youngest ordered the plain California roll and ate the entire thing so thumbs up from the little one. Nice little spot and will definitley try again. read more

Great sushi roll selection. I love 'the lion king' roll, and I get a Cali roll with extra avocado. I have only ordered to-go here and have yet to dine in. I will say the service is quick for all of my to-go orders. The only issue I have had was the up charge for extra avocado, I order it almost every time, sometimes they charge $1 for extra avocado, and other times is $4 for extra avocado. ($4 up charge for ONE roll) They also have a great lunch deal, you can get half order sushi roll, that includes a side salad and soup... unfortunately the salad and soup were forgotten in my order. Sushi is not cheap. The ingredients, the time, and the skill it takes to make a roll becomes abundantly clear after attempting to recreate it at home (personal experience). However, Sake Sushi manages to make it reasonably priced AND delicious. Their fresh and baked rolls are around 14~16 usually, but they also have a 2 for $28 deal on select rolls, which is VERY worth it. First off, they have an amazing variety. I could hardly pick which one I wanted, they had so many choices. My only criticism was that the sheer number of rolls listed on the menu made it so that descriptions were impossible. Looking at just the name of the roll didn't exactly tell me what it contained. We aren't too hot on raw fish, so we were delighted to discover that they have a ton of options for baked and cooked rolls, which were all devoured instantaneously. Cons/ nit picking -Their rolls aren't as aesthetically cut as some of their competitors, but that's also because they are STUFFED with fillings -The wait time is always so long; they are a very popular spot. I tried ordering takeout via phone, but there was no answer, probably because they are giving priority to the customers who are there in person (understandable). If you are craving sushi, check this place out, just be prepared to wait. read more

Sushi was great however service was bad. 1 waitress for whole place but the sushi chefs stepped in and helped. She forgot our drinks, our to go order (part of it) and never checked on us. We were patient but we ended up having to walk up to the register for ask for plates and sauces. We also had to walk up to place out to go order. We like eating here for lunch but dinner was a disappointment. Even with one server she could have made an effort to check in with us. The sushi chefs were amazing though! We have had good food and experience here in the past. We last went on a Tuesday. We chose our regular favorites and when we got our orders of salmon, it smelled off. It tasted off. We returned the second order with that complaint. I have to say, if salmon smells bad, why is the chef even serving it to us? Really, he had to know, he works with fish for his living. Unacceptable. Sake Sushi is my go to sushi place! I'm always shocked with sushi prices in California (On a side note, why is sushi so expensive in California? In Vancouver you can get a California Roll for $3.85 usd!) BUT the prices are quite reasonable and you get pretty big rolls! My family and I have been coming here for the past few years. In December, they changed owners and personnel and while I had no problem with it before, this has definitely been an improvement. The owner Tony is there every night and is a great person. The staff are amazing and very attentive. My daughter loves coming here and asks for it often as they make her feel like a celebrity. Came here with the family on a weekday around 5pm. I can see how it can get crowded as it is a little small inside. But the food and wonderful service make up for everything. Rolls are fresh. I haven't had a roll that I didn't like there. I'm not even a "krab" fan but they don't put a ton of mayo in it like some places do. They have unsweetened iced green tea which I love. They even will make any roll a no rice roll if you want! I prefer their edamame with garlic only as it seems like they just toss in chili paste. Called in an early takeout order for dinner (Shooting star, Citrus and Cali rolls) and decided to get a Sapporo Black in a frosted glass while I waited and listened to old 80s tunes overhead. Behind the bar the chefs were contagiously cheerful and singing. I was offered some fatty salmon and it was melt-in-your-mouth to die for! What a great decision to order and stop in here today. Ok so the sushi wasn't bad- I'd say a solid place to get some ok rolls- BUT the kids meals (teriyaki chicken plate) was so gross... my kids (who aren't that picky) wouldn't eat it it tastes like plain boiled rubbery chicken with no flavor and weird texture and it came with fries- great idea but they were very mushy to almost inedible & the salad dressing it came with was like straight ginger to the point of way too spicy for a child (or myself) to eat. Lastly not a big deal but I also ordered gyoza and when repeating the order back to me the waitress (or host- not sure as this was a phone to-go order) did not know how to pronounce it and struggled for a min and ultimately said it pretty incorrectly and I just think if u work at a restaurant that's a different culture then your own you should probably learn how to say the things on the menu.
